Raggies ... Military slang for the jihadist enemies in Mali.
Jobby ... A shit or a turd.
Sprog ... A recruit in military slang, a child in civilian usage.
Panda Car ... A slang phrase for a police patrol car, which were originally black with white panels.
PC ... Police Constable, Police Officer.
Copper ... Also Police Officer.
Ragamuffin ... someone scruffy or untidy, usually a child.
The Bill ... The police.
A Toe-rag ... A scumbag.
Proper pants ... Poor quality, rubbish.
Wee lintie ... A lintie is Scots for a song bird, (a linnet), in context it a friendly term for a girl who chatters a lot.
Mam ... Scots and Northern English dialect, Mother.
Twat ... A stupid, foolish, unpleasant, or annoying person. It can range from irritated to joking depending on the relationship and tone. Also a verb To twat can also mean to hit or strike someone or something.
MoD ... Ministry of Defence.
Colonel-in-chief ... A honorary, ceremonial head of a military regiment, corps, or unit, often a member of the Royal Family.
Redcaps ... Royal Military Police (RMP or just MP) from the scarlet Caps or Berets they wear.
Monkeys ... Military slang for RMP.
STAB ... Military slang for reservists. The acronym is Stupid Territorial Army Bastards. The Territorial Army was similar but not identical to the National Guard and is now renamed to Army Reserve, the reverse insult is ARAB for Arrogant Regular Army Bastard.
