Part 4: Maintenance

Incest Sex Story: Part 4: Maintenance - He promised her a thigh gap once, and a BBL after the baby, and both times she told herself the price was worth it. This time he doesn't have to promise anything at all, and she still comes down to the basement long after the reason to has run out. The whole world's suddenly thin on the same miracle everyone calls discipline, and her father is the one man who can get it, no questions asked. Pitch-black satire. Read the tags.

She hit the number on a Tuesday.

The scale gave it to her in the morning — the number she’d written on the inside cover of a notebook three months back and hadn’t let herself say out loud since. She stood on it twice to be sure. Then she went and stood in front of the mirror.

There she was.

The waist. The line of her hip. The jaw she remembered. The girl from before Emma, before any of it — except this one had earned it, or thought she had. She turned side to side. She put her hands flat on her waist where her father put his, and they went around almost to her spine.

She’d done it. She’d actually done it — the thing the whole internet promised and nobody delivered. She was the after now. The real one.

She took the picture and posted it, and watched the hearts come up fast like she’d split something open, and for about an hour she felt exactly the way she’d wanted to feel for two years.

“you are UNREAL. what’s the secret??”

“glowing doesn’t even cover it 😭”

“this is my roman empire now”

Then her dad got home, and the hour ended.

He looked at her differently that night. Not hungry, or not only hungry. Assessing. The way he used to look at the notebook.

“You’re at your number,” he said. Not a question. He could see it on her.

“Yeah.”

“You did good.” He said it plain, and it landed in her stupidly, warm, the way his approval always had and always would and she hated that it did. “You can drop to a maintenance dose now — a fraction of what you’ve been on, just to hold it. Keep that up and your body won’t give it back.” A beat. “That part I’ll still get you. But you don’t have to keep coming down here for the rest of it.”

He said it like a man closing out an account. Fair. Even. You paid the thing off. We’re square. You’re free to go.

And it was true. She could see the whole clean shape of it — the pen going to nothing, the basement door swinging shut, the whole arrangement folding up behind her like it never happened. She could walk up those stairs tonight and be a girl who used to do something in a basement and didn’t anymore.

She wanted him to mean it. She wanted him to be lying. She couldn’t tell which she wanted more, and that scared her worse than anything he’d ever said.

“Okay,” she said.

She made it eight days.

The first three were easy — she spent them hating him for the offer. On the fourth she found herself at the top of the basement stairs at eleven at night, holding a laundry basket she didn’t need to do, and turned around and went back up. On the fifth she got as far as the bottom step before she heard him moving around down there and lost her nerve.

Listen to yourself.

On the sixth her dad passed her in the kitchen.

“Weight holding?” he said, not slowing down.

“It’s holding.”

“Good. You did the work, Madison. You should be proud of yourself.” And that was all, and it should have been enough, and she lay awake that night furious that it wasn’t.

On the eighth she went down after the kids were asleep, and he was on the mat — like he’d known, like he’d spent the whole eight days waiting to see if she would. Maybe he had.

There was no pen. That was the whole point, and they both knew it was the whole point.

“I thought you were done,” he said. Not unkind. Testing her.

She stood in the doorway with no reason stapled to the front of anything. No gap to fix, no ass to build, no body to get back — she had the body, it was upstairs in every mirror in the house. No pen to pay for. She’d run all the way out of things to tell herself, and underneath the last of them there was just the one thing, waiting, the way it had been waiting the whole time.

“I’m not done,” she said.

He held out his hand and she took it and went down onto the mat, and it was different because there was nothing in front of it this time. No story. Just her, choosing to be there.

“Say it,” he said, spreading her knees. Not say you like it. Just — say it. He wanted the whole thing now.

And she was so tired. Of the eight days. Of the errands with reasons stapled on. Of turning her face to the bird.

“I wanted it,” she said. “That’s why I came down. I wanted to.”

Something moved through him at that — she felt it in his hands. He pushed into her and she didn’t fight the sound this time, let it out, let him have all of it.
