Emperor Galdin Von Arcadia remained seated for several moments, studying Zi Chen as though she were an anomaly he could not understand. For the first time in millions of eras, he had encountered someone who could outmaneuver him not through brute force, military might, or political influence, but through a strategy that had unfolded across multiple eras.

“By the Imperium, you are a headache. Just what do you want?” the Emperor asked.

62867-7-ch-7-02-chapter701.jpg

Zi Chen raised two fingers.

“I have two conditions.”

“First, I want the one hundred thousand galaxies you just promised me. Not a temporary administrative appointment, not a ceremonial grant, and certainly not a territory the throne can reclaim whenever it changes its mind. I want them formally incorporated into my domain.”

A faint stir passed through the assembled Galaxy Lords.

“Second,” Zi Chen continued, “I want the title of Galaxy Lord formally bestowed upon me, with all the authority and privileges that accompany it. I am tired of being referred to as a Sector Lord. I know the requirements for becoming a Galaxy Lord, and they are unnecessarily limiting my growth. Honour these two demands, and I will remain loyal to the empire.”

Galdin leaned back in his throne, folding his arms across his massive chest.

“Zi Chen, you are only fifteen thousand two hundred and thirty years old. Under imperial law, there are several requirements for anyone seeking the title of Galaxy Lord.”

“First, they must have served in the Arcadian Imperial Army for at least thirty thousand years. Second, they must have attained the rank of Sector Lord during their military service. Third, their net worth must exceed one billion Imperial Credits. Fourth, they must be at least sixty thousand years old.” Galdin said as he paused, allowing the requirements to settle over the room.

“And finally, the fifth requirement is a hidden condition known only to those who successfully pass the final assessment and are promoted to galaxy Lord.”

“Unlike the previous laws, this law is not written in any publicly accessible imperial database due to its sensitive nature,” Galdin said as Zi Chen looked at him, wanting him to tell her the final condition already.

“Listen, Emperor Galdi, n, I clearly meet most of the requirements except that my age is relatively young, g so let’s cut the crap and tell me this hidden final condition.” Zi Chen said

“Fine, Zi Chen ... But first I want you to answer a question: how old do you think I am?”

She examined him for a while, then said

“Thirty-five thousand? Perhaps forty thousand? I have never been particularly fond of history.”

Galdin burst into laughter.

“Hahaha! Not even close; I am five hundred million years old!”

Zi Chen’s expression froze.

“Five hundred million?”

“Indeed. I was the very first galaxy lord. During my era, I achieved immortality through the uploading of my will and consciousness into the first incantation data banks, and later created clone bodies that allowed me to continue to rule the empire under various aliases. In my first life, I was called Geordano Von Arcadia. This is my actual true name”

Zi Chen’s eyes widened.

“Wait. Geordano? That is the name of the founding Emperor of Arcadia.”

“Correct.”

“Does that mean you are the founding ancestor?”

“The very same.”

Galdin smiled, looking more amused than offended by her disbelief.

“I must say, across all my incarnations and the countless eras I have witnessed, you are one of the most interesting people I have ever encountered. You have accomplished all this in barely fifteen eras.”

An era in the Arcadian calendar lasted one thousand years. By describing Zi Chen as fifteen eras old, Galdin was emphasizing just how young she was by imperial standards. To someone who had lived for five hundred million years, fifteen thousand years amounted to little more than adolescence.

Zi Chen stared at him, struggling to reconcile the youthful man sitting before her with the legendary founder of the empire.

“But how is that possible? How can you still be alive after five hundred million years?”

“As I said, through will and consciousness upload”

Galdin waved his hand, and a new holographic projection appeared.

“You see, during my galactic era I discovered that a living being’s body and soul possess different limitations. Their longevity depends on their underlying genetic and spiritual structure. For most humans, the fundamental life structure is only one. Even with advanced medical technology, their biological bodies eventually reach a point beyond which they cannot continue functioning.”

He turned toward Zi Chen.

“Your Gene-X Evolution Nanocells can repair genetic defects, strengthen cellular structures, and extend biological life. However, extending the lifespan of the body does not necessarily extend the lifespan of the soul. Once the soul reaches its natural limit, it begins to deteriorate. Eventually, it collapses, and the individual dies, leaving the body behind while their remaining essence returns to the universe.”

Zi Chen’s expression grew serious.

“So even if someone could continuously repair their body, they would still die once their soul reached its limit?”

“Precisely. Unless they discovered a way to overcome that limitation, their existence would eventually come to an end.”

Galdin dismissed the projection and continued.

“This brings us to the secret behind the Galaxy Lord title. Becoming a Galaxy Lord requires more than satisfying the publicly known conditions. Every candidate must undergo the final incarnation procedure administered by the Galaxy Lord Alliance Incarnation Hall.”

62867-7-ch-7-03-chapter702.jpg

Zi Chen narrowed her eyes.

“What does the procedure involve?”

“Your original soul is extracted and destroyed permanently; during the destruction, it releases your will and consciousness, which are then extracted and uploaded into the Incarnation Hall. The system preserves that information and uses it to create a new clone body capable of housing your will and consciousness.”

He paused briefly.

“If your clone is destroyed during battle, your preserved will and consciousness remain protected within the Incarnation Hall, and once the necessary resources are available, the system creates another body and restores you to life in one of the 100,000 incarnation halls found across the various galaxies.”

“After this, you may then reclaim your imperial accounts, access your accumulated wealth, and return to the empire under a new established identity to avoid suspicion from the public, rise through the ranks, and reclaim your title again, being bestowed your title as galaxy lord under a new alias.”

Zi Chen stared at him before continuing to speak.

“Wait. If you can repeat this process indefinitely, does that mean Galaxy Lords are practically immortal?”

“More or less,” Galdin replied. “Provided at least one Incarnation Hall remains functional, and their stored will and consciousness are not destroyed, they can be revived indefinitely, even if their bodies are completely annihilated.”

He paused before adding, “However, the process has one significant limitation: Galaxy Lords who undergo incarnation cannot reproduce. That is why many ensure they have children before ascending. Once you become a Galaxy Lord, you will never be able to have biological offspring.”

“That’s not a problem for me. I have never had any intention of having children,” Zi Chen replied casually.

The room fell into stunned silence.

Several galaxy lords exchanged bewildered glances, while even Galdin raised an eyebrow. To them, Zi Chen had just dismissed something that countless powerful beings considered essential to their existence: the continuation of their bloodline.

Of course, although uncommon, she was hardly the first Galaxy Lord to make such a choice.

“Is my choice really that surprising? I haven’t married for 15000 years and have rejected many suitors wishing for my hand in marriage.” Zi Chen said.

“It’s unusual, certainly, but not unprecedented,” Galdin eventually remarked. “There are hundreds who choose not to have descendants due to personal reasons.

62867-7-ch-7-04-chapter703.jpg

“Take Hai Li, for example. He is a devout monk who renounced worldly attachments long before becoming a Galaxy Lord. His reputation for compassion and impartiality is so remarkable that even civilizations once considered irredeemable have sought his guidance. He considers the pursuit of enlightenment far more important than leaving behind descendants.”

62867-7-ch-7-05-chapter704.jpg

“There is also Yun Shuang, the renowned adventurer who has spent hundreds of millions of years exploring regions beyond the empire’s known borders; actually, we have not had any from him in 200 million years. Hope he is okay; knowing him, he is fine since he has been sending new data on his discoveries every now and then. He even sent you congratulations on creating the AVN, which has drastically improved his exploration of new galaxies.”

“Before he became a galaxy lord, he claimed that raising children would tie him to a life he has no desire to live, and that the universe is his only family.”

“These two are just one of the hundreds that chose a similar path to yours”

Galdin said, folding his arms and looking at Zi Chen.

“I understand that there are many reasons why a Galaxy Lord might choose not to have descendants. Some pursue enlightenment, some, for their ambitions, and some simply have no desire to become parents. The empire does not force them to continue their bloodlines.”

He smiled faintly.

“Still, Zi Chen, I must admit that you are the first person I have met who has dismissed the matter so casually. Most people spend years agonizing over the decision before ascending.”

Zi Chen shrugged, but the casual gesture did little to conceal the coldness settling in her blue eyes.

“Why should I agonize over something I never wanted in the first place? When I was still a mercenary in Dozan, I underwent surgery to have both my ovaries removed. I made certain I would never become pregnant.”

For a moment, the vast hall fell silent.

Even among the Galaxy Lords, who had witnessed countless tragedies and committed atrocities that could make entire civilizations tremble, her declaration was startlingly direct.

“I know it is not my place to ask,” one of the Galaxy Lords finally said, choosing his words carefully, “but why would you go so far as to ensure you never had children? Are you not afraid that your bloodline will eventually come to an end?”

Zi Chen let out a quiet laugh, devoid of amusement.

“I did not make that decision because I hated children. I made it because I understood what it meant to bring a child into this world with the Chen blood running through their veins.”

“My family suffered from a hereditary condition known as slowing heart disease. My grandfather had it. My mother had it. My brother had it. And I had it.”

“I knew the possibility of passing that disease to my child was real. Imagine bringing someone into existence, watching them grow to love the world, watching them develop dreams and ambitions, only to stand helplessly by as their own heart gradually betrays them.”

“Imagine watching your child struggle for every breath, knowing that one day they might die simply because their body can no longer sustain itself.”

She paused, her gaze drifting toward the distant ceiling.

“Would you call it selfishness if I refused to gamble with another person’s life merely to preserve my bloodline?”

Nobody answered.

“Besides, I was the Ghost of Dozan. I had enemies everywhere. I knew precisely what those people would do if they discovered I had a child. They would not see an innocent little boy or girl. They would see a weakness they could exploit, a hostage they could take, a knife they could press against my throat to force me to kneel.”

Her expression hardened.

“I had already made enough enemies to fill a graveyard. Why would I deliberately have a child who could be dragged into my world of bloodshed simply because they had the misfortune of being born to me?”

“But the past is the past. I made my choice, and no amount of regret will change it. I have Yin Zu. He is my son in every way that matters to me, and that is enough. I do not need biological children to prove that I am a woman, nor do I need descendants to validate my existence.”

A faint smile touched her lips.

“To me, he is family. That is all that matters.” Zi Chen said as a blue-skinned elf galaxy lord suddenly spoke

“You are a disgrace to women throughout the universe!”

The sharp, contemptuous voice cut through the silence.

The female blue-skinned Galaxy Lord rose from her seat, her magnificent robes shimmering with spiritual light. Disapproval twisted her face as she stared at Zi Chen.

“How can you be so selfish? Your mother gave birth to you, did she not? She endured the hardships of pregnancy and raised you despite her condition. What if she had made the same decision you did? What if she had decided that you were too much of a burden to bring into this world? You would never have existed!”

The hall grew still once more.

Zi Chen slowly turned her head toward the woman.

“Selfish?” she repeated softly. “And precisely how am I being selfish?”

“By denying your bloodline a future! By choosing your own comfort over the continuation of your family! Women have a responsibility to preserve life, not extinguish their own lineage because they are afraid of hardship!”

For several seconds, Zi Chen simply stared at her.

Then she laughed.

It was not her usual playful laughter, nor the mocking amusement she often displayed when dealing with people she considered foolish. It was a short, bitter sound that carried the weight of something buried for far too long.

“You speak as though I begged my mother to give birth to me.”

The female Galaxy Lord frowned.

“I never asked to be born,” Zi Chen continued. “I never asked for a defective heart, a dying family, or a life in which surviving another day was an achievement worthy of celebration.”

“I was the consequence of two people falling in love or perhaps nothing more than a moment of passion. Whatever the reason, my mother chose to bring my brother and me into this world despite knowing the condition that haunted our bloodline remains a mystery.”

Her voice began to tremble, though whether from anger or the memories themselves was difficult to tell.

“My brother developed symptoms when he was ten. Within months, he was dead.”

She swallowed.

“I was nine when I received my diagnosis. Do you understand what that means? I was nine years old. Other children worried about their examinations, their toys, and whether their friends liked them. I worried about whether my heart would still be beating when I woke up the next morning.”

The Galaxy Lords remained motionless.

“I watched my brother die. I watched my family disappear, one person at a time, until there was nobody left to protect me. And when I looked at my own future, all I could see was the same ending waiting for me.”

Zi Chen’s eyes glistened, but no tears fell.

“Do you know what it feels like to live with a heart that is slowly giving up on you? To feel your own body becoming your enemy? To wonder whether the next time you close your eyes, you will ever open them again? I had to fight every single day just to stay alive. If I had not struggled with everything I possessed, I might never have reached even ten years.”

“And yet you stand there and lecture me about the sanctity of life, as though you understand what it means to desperately want to live while knowing that your own body may kill you at any moment.”

For the first time, her voice rose.

“Do you know what my innate ability was?”

Nobody spoke.

“It is called perfect sense, an ability that heightens my senses and amplifies my mental and physical capabilities by a hundredfold. My perception, reaction speed, thinking, strength everything becomes incomparably sharper.”

“It was the reason I could survive encounters that should have killed me. It was the reason the Ghost of Dozan became a legend.”

She looked directly at the female Galaxy Lord.

“But there was a price. If I maintained that state for more than sixty seconds, I would lose consciousness. Every time I activate it, it requires me to take 3-minute breaks to recover.”

“Whenever I used it, I was gambling with my life. I could win a battle and still collapse afterward, never knowing whether I would wake up again.”

Her expression became distant, as if she were once more standing in the neon-lit streets of Dozan, surrounded by enemies and the echoes of gunfire.

“I learned to calculate the distance between life and death in seconds. I learned to make decisions while my body was screaming at me to stop. I learned that sometimes surviving meant pushing myself beyond the limits that were supposed to keep a human being alive.”

She drew a slow breath.

“Only after developing Gene-X Evolution Nanocells was I finally free from my condition, after which I am now able to maintain my heightened state for 60 seconds without suffering the same catastrophic consequences. Do you understand now why my combat abilities and mental processing capabilities are so absurd?”

She leaned forward, and the last trace of amusement vanished from her face.

“Because I spent my entire life fighting against a body that wanted me dead. My skills were not born because of talent, but out of my will to survive, even if only for a single day.”

The words struck the hall like a thunderclap.

For a moment, the female Galaxy Lord appeared ready to respond. Yet when she looked into Zi Chen’s eyes, whatever argument she had prepared seemed to die on her tongue.

Zi Chen was not finished.

“You call me selfish because I refused to bring another child into the same nightmare. You call me a disgrace because I chose not to gamble with another person’s life merely to satisfy society’s expectations of what a woman should be.”

Her voice dropped to a frighteningly quiet whisper.

“But tell me something. If I had given birth to a child who inherited that disease, and that child died in agony, would you have taken responsibility? Would you have sat beside their bed through every sleepless night? Would you have watched their heart slow down while they begged you to save them? Would you have carried the guilt of knowing that you could have prevented their suffering simply by choosing not to bring them into existence?”

Silence answered her.

“Of course not.”

Zi Chen straightened, her blue eyes now as cold as frozen stars.

“You would have offered condolences, perhaps said a few pretty words about fate, or some sentimental bullshit about how this is part of some higher power’s plan, and returned to your comfortable life. I would have been the one burying my child.”

“You have never walked in my shoes. You have never lived my life. So do not presume to judge a decision you cannot possibly understand.”

62867-7-ch-7-06-chapter705.jpg

Zi Chen said. Her aura began to come from her AVN core and spread through the hall, her aura transforming into a dense golden purple aura, making everyone in the room kneel except for the emperor, who remained relatively calm, a smile forming upon seeing Zi Chen aura.

It was not an uncontrolled eruption of power. That would have been easier to bear. Instead, it was a deliberate pressure, cold and precise, as though an invisible blade had been placed against every throat in the room.

For a heartbeat, the hall seemed to freeze.

“I have endured enough suffering to last several lifetimes. I have no intention of allowing someone who knows nothing about my past to dictate how I should live the rest of my life. I can kill all...” Zi Chen said as he momentarily took a second to stare at the emperor.

“Well, most of you in a heat beat don’t forge, like the emperor I am, also a metahuman”

In Arcadia, races were categorized based on the evolution path.

62867-7-ch-7-07-chapter706.jpg

Biomechanical Humans, which formed most of the Arcadian population. These humans evolved by integrating mechanical technology into their bodies to strengthen and even replace parts of the original body. The level of evolution depends on the strength of the technology integrated, as well as the adaptability of the individual to the machine.

The second group was Mutant Humans evolving by integrating the genes of beasts found across the universe. Their personal attributes will vary depending on the specific types of monsters. These Arcadians have obvious animal-like characteristics in appearance, ability, and even thinking.

Lastly, there were the rare Meta Humans who evolved due to their own genetic mutations. The causes of mutation are generally hereditary, radiation influence, or other uncertain reasons. These humans are the most adaptive; if raised correctly, one could easily grow to be a pinnacle power in the empire.

They were extremely rare, with a majority of those born with useful abilities like elemental manipulation, telekinesis, and body enhancement being taken in and protected furiously by the empire, with some noticeable individuals being the Emperor and Zi Chen. Despite many awakening innate abilities, some of them were born with severe limitations and thus were left to fend for themselves; it was only Zi Chen talents and abilities that, despite her previous limitation was selected.

Over the years, Zi Chen had seen how many meta humans who awaken talents like telekanisis and enhanced physical and mental abilities being taken in and being heavily sponsored by the empire but although they were not really that big of a deal in Arcadia since although what they did was impressive their were tech which could do the same even by normal people the only difference that made them valuable was that as their power grew all meta humans automatically obtained the abilities to use telekanisis enhanced physical and mental abilitie like psionic blast but the technique manuals on how to mater this techniques were heavily guarded by the imperial family.

As Zi Chen glanced around the assembly, her blue eyes had momentarily turned purple and were now sweeping across the gathered Galaxy Lords, her gaze alone utilizing the telekinetic force of her aura to suppress them as she began to speak.

“Unless anyone else wishes to explain why my reproductive organs are a matter of imperial concern, can we return to the actual reason we are here? And in case some of you have forgotten, I am still holding the empire hostage. Remember this: the choices you make here will determine if your galaxy counties will continue existing. If anyone else wishes to lecture me, go ahead and see if I am bluffing,” Zi Chen said, but nobody among the Galaxy Lords answered.

What unsettled the Galaxy Lords was not merely her words, but the mysterious aura radiating from her body. This was Origin energy, a mysterious infinite energy found across everything in the universe. They had seen how Yin Zu’s ring held such a concentrated amount of this energy, and some had bought them just to absorb the energy using the techniques provided by the empire, but still none could project or control it as effectively as Zi Chen was doing.

Her Origin aura possessed the same overwhelming quality as the Emperor’s, a pressure that seemed to reach beyond physical strength and touch something far more fundamental. For the first time, many of the ancient rulers began to wonder whether Zi Chen’s true capabilities were even remotely close to what they had imagined. Origin possessed incredible qualities; individuals who integrated with it possessed bodies that no longer even needed to breathe and could even survive in the vacuum of space without a space combat suit. Currently, the only beings who had achieved this level of mastery were the emperor, his 3 imperial children, Tai Shu, Yun Shuang, and now Zi Chen and even her AI. The thing that scared them was not that she could even use it; it was that she had attained it at only 15000 years old. Compared to Yin Zu and Zi Chen, the other talents seemed utterly mediocre.

“Okay, enough!”

Galdin’s voice thundered through the hall.

A second aura descended, colliding with Zi Chen’s pressure and gradually forcing it back. The two auras intertwined, and for an instant, the entire assembly felt as though it stood between two unfathomable forces.

“Galaxy Lord Wai Ka meant no offense,” Galdin declared, turning toward Zi Chen. “I understand your anger and resentment. Considering that you eventually invented Gene-X Evolution Nanocells to cure your condition, perhaps you sometimes wonder what might have happened if you had waited a little longer. With your evolved genetic structure, you might have been able to bear a biological child without passing on the same disease.”

He paused before continuing.

“And given your current strength and influence, I doubt anyone would dare target your child unless they had abandoned every instinct for self-preservation. Nevertheless, what is done is done. You made your decision based on the circumstances you faced at the time. You cannot change the past, and no one here has the right to force you to regret it.”

For a moment, his expression softened.

“But I will not permit you to harm innocent Galaxy Lords over a personal dispute. If every insult causes you to lose control, then you have no business holding the title of an Arcadian Galaxy Lord. Power comes with responsibility, Zi Chen. You may be free to live as you please, but you are not free to slaughter people simply because their words displease you.”

Galdin’s aura intensified, pressing against hers with the weight of an entire empire.

“Now, control yourself.”

Zi Chen stared at him for several seconds.

“Hmm. Fine.”

She gradually withdrew her aura, allowing the suffocating pressure to dissipate. Before turning away, however, she cast one final glance at Galaxy Lord Wai Ka.

“But I will remember her.”

Wai Ka’s expression stiffened, though she wisely chose not to respond.

Galdin sighed inwardly. He had lived for countless ages, commanded civilizations that rose and fell, experienced things beyond ordinary imagination, and raised children who could make entire species tremble.

Yet somehow, this girl before her stood as an anomaly he could not fully understand she was even utilising origin energy as if it was nothing something that had took him 500 million years to understand and utilize was being used by her as if it was nothing she now understood why Zi Chen and her son never felt pressured by his aura to them his aura seemed like something they had been used to for years, especially Yin Zu his control and application was so terrifying that he could create illusionary bodies capable of interacting with the physical world despite being 100 billion light years away on Planet chen where his true body resided. He wanted to have both of them under his service, but as he analysed it, as aadumb Idea came to mind.

“Zi Chen, I would like to ask you something personal, and I hope you will answer truthfully. Are you genuinely content with having Yin Zu as your only son? I am not asking whether you have accepted your circumstances. I am asking whether, deep down, you have any regrets.”

For once, Zi Chen did not answer immediately.

The sharpness in her blue eyes softened, and the tension that had surrounded her gradually receded. When she finally spoke, her voice carried none of the hostility she had displayed earlier.
