Breakfast began at seven-thirty, earlier than anyone wanted on a Saturday.
Kaito was dressed before the rice had finished steaming, his dark hair still damp at the ends and his test documents arranged in a careful stack beside his bowl: identification, booking confirmation, learner’s license, wallet. He checked the stack once, then again, as though something might have changed while he looked away.
Hana set a bowl of miso soup in front of him.
“Eat.”
“I’m eating.”
“You’re moving food around.”
“That’s still eating.”
“It’s not.”
Across the table, Midori hid a smile behind her tea. Her statistics workbook lay open beside her plate, several pages marked with small sticky notes. She would not leave for tutoring until one, but she had been preparing since the night before.
Emiko stood at the counter, wrapping two rice balls in paper and sliding them into a small container.
“You may not be hungry now,” she told Kaito, “but you ll be hungry later.”
“I can buy something.”
“You can eat this.”
Kaito accepted the container without argument. That, more than anything, showed Hana how nervous he was.
“Do you have everything?” Emiko asked.
“Yes.”
“Your ID?”
“Yes.”
“Your learner’s license?”
“Yes.”
“Your phone?”
“In my pocket.”
“Your wallet?”
“Also in my pocket.”
Hana poured him tea.
“Drink that before you go.”
He looked at the cup as if it had personally offended him.
“Hana—”
“Drink.”
He drank.
Midori looked over the top of her workbook. “Try not to hit anything.”
Kaito turned toward her slowly. “That’s not helpful.”
“It’s realistic.”
“I passed all my lessons.”
“That does not mean you cannot hit something today.”
“Midori,” Emiko said.
“I believe in him,” Midori said quickly. “I am just saying that traffic cones have feelings too.”
Kaito gave her a flat, suffering look. Hana had to turn away so he would not see her smile.
At seven forty-five, he stood in the entryway with his shoes on, folder under one arm and the container of rice balls in the other hand. The nervousness he had kept hidden at breakfast had settled visibly across his shoulders.
Emiko reached up and straightened the collar of his shirt.
“You know what you are doing,” she said.
“I know.”
“Don’t rush.”
“I won’t.”
Be quiet and kiss ne.
Emiko laid some tongue on him.
“Get a room, you two!” chimed Midori.
“Make every safety check obvious,” Hana added. “Mirrors, blind spots, signals. Do not assume the tester knows what you saw.”
Kaito nodded once. “I know.”
The Singapore Safety Driving Centre required candidates to report well before the actual Traffic Police practical test for a warm-up session, then return to the test vehicle’s reporting point before their scheduled test time. The practical test itself began in the circuit before moving onto public roads, and a candidate who accumulated too many demerit points—or made a serious immediate-failure error—would not progress through the normal sequence.
Kaito paused at the door.
“I’ll text when I’m done.”
“Text when you get there,” Emiko corrected.
“And when you are done,” Hana said.
“And when you are coming home,” Midori added.
Kaito opened the door. “I’ll send one message. That is all anyone gets.”
Then he was gone.
The house remained quiet for a few seconds after the door shut.
Emiko exhaled first.
“He’ll be fine.”
Hana looked at the clock above the stove. “He has to be.”
The waiting morning
The morning took on the stretched, unnatural shape of time spent waiting for someone else to finish something important.
Emiko brought a folder to the dining table and spread its contents out with careful precision: lab forms, a notebook, copies of papers, a list in her tidy handwriting. She sorted them into piles, reconsidered the piles, then placed several sheets in a document envelope. She had to go to the lab later that morning to finish a few pieces of paperwork and retrieve materials needed for the Hopkins matter. She did not discuss the details.
Midori worked through statistics questions at the other end of the table. Every so often, she read part of a problem aloud.
“If the sample variance is—no. This wording is terrible.”
“It’s probably not terrible,” Hana said, sorting laundry nearby. “You are probably tired of looking at it.”
“I have not even started tutoring yet.”
“You have been preparing since yesterday.”
“That’s different.”
“Is it?”
Midori frowned at the workbook. “No.”
At nine o’clock, Emiko checked her phone.
At nine thirty, Hana started a load of laundry, wiped the kitchen counter, then wiped it again ten minutes later because she could not think of anything else that needed doing.
At ten, Midori made tea for everyone and left her own cup untouched beside the workbook.
At ten forty-five, Emiko looked at the clock, then at the front door.
“He should be in the test now,” she said quietly.
Hana nodded.
Kaito would have done the warm-up first, practicing with an instructor and settling into the car before reporting for the actual test. Then came the enclosed circuit: stopping precisely, negotiating slopes and narrow courses, performing parking maneuvers, watching every stop line and every mirror. Only after clearing that portion could he go out onto the public roads with the tester beside him.
Hana imagined him taking a breath before every instruction. She imagined his hands steady on the wheel, his eyes moving from mirror to road to blind spot and back again. She told herself not to imagine anything at all.
At eleven-fifteen, Emiko rose and gathered her bag.
“I should go,” she said. “I can finish the paperwork while he is on his way back.”
“You do not have to leave this minute,” Midori said.
“I do. If I wait, I’ll spend the afternoon thinking about what I should have done this morning.”
Hana understood that feeling too well.
Emiko checked the document envelope once more, added her keys, and slipped her phone into her pocket.
“I’ll be back by five,” she said. “Possibly a little after.”
“Call if you need anything,” Hana said.
“I will.”
She paused at the door.
“If Kaito comes home before I do—”
“We’ll tell him you are proud of him,” Hana said.
Emiko’s expression softened.
“Tell him yourself,” Midori said. “You can call.”
“I’ll call.”
Then Emiko left for the lab.
The house felt larger without her.
At twelve fifteen, the front door opened.
Kaito stepped inside with his bag over one shoulder and his folder held loosely at his side. He stood still in the entryway, his face unreadable for one long second.
Hana was already on her feet.
“Well?”
Midori had risen too, one hand pressed against the edge of the table.
Kaito looked from Hana to Midori.
Then the corner of his mouth lifted.
“I passed.”
For a heartbeat, neither of them moved.
Then Midori made a sound halfway between a shout and a laugh and rushed across the room.
“You passed?”
“I just said I did.”
“You could be lying.”
“Why would I lie about that?”
“Because you enjoy making people nervous.”
“I absolutely do not.”
Hana reached him next, wrapping both arms around him before he could escape. He hugged her back with one arm, awkwardly at first, then tightly enough that she felt the last of the morning’s tension leave him.
“You passed,” she said into his shoulder.
“I passed.”
When she drew back, he looked almost embarrassed by how happy he was.
Midori snatched the result slip from his hand before he could stop her.
“Hey.”
“I am verifying it.”
“You do not know what any of that means.”
“I know the word pass.”
“It says it right there,” Hana said.
Midori held the paper high as if reading a proclamation.
“Kaito has been officially declared capable of operating a motor vehicle.”
Kaito took the paper back. “Give me that.”
“Does this mean you are driving us everywhere now?” she asked.
“No.”
“Does this mean you can take me to school?”
“No.”
“Does this mean—”
“It means,” Hana said, “that he has had a difficult morning and he should sit down, drink water, and eat lunch.”
Kaito looked at her. “I ate the rice balls.”
“Good.”
“And I bought tea.”
“Good.”
“And I am not fainting.”
“Also good. Sit down.”
He sat.
For the next twenty minutes, he told them only what he wanted to tell them. The warm-up had been fine. The waiting had been worse. The tester had not smiled. The first part of the circuit had made his hands feel cold. There had been one moment on the road when a motorcycle appeared where he had not expected it, but he had seen it in time. He had not made a perfect test, he said, but he had passed.
That last part mattered more than the rest.
Midori listened with wide-eyed attention, interrupting only to ask questions he refused to answer because he said he did not want to relive every second. Hana made him eat half a sandwich and told him he could save the result slip in his wallet only after he had stopped folding and unfolding it.
At twelve fifty-five, Midori closed her statistics workbook.
“I have to go.”
Kaito looked at the time. “Already?”
“You were gone all morning.”
“I know that. I was there.”
She packed her notes, calculator, and spare pencils into her tote.
“Do not forget your umbrella,” Hana said.
“It is sunny.”
“It may not remain sunny.”
Midori gave her a look but took the umbrella from the stand beside the door.
She paused in front of Kaito.
“Congratulations,” she said, more softly this time.
“Thanks.”
“I am still not riding with you for at least six months.”
“You were never invited.”
“That is not the point.”
She smiled, then left for school.
The door closed behind her at one o’clock.
Hana and Kaito were alone.
Longer they were alone at the table drinking tea. Kaito said. “Well, Sis want to do the deed now, when there’s no one home?”
She shrugged and replied, “Yeah. I guess so. Now’s as good a time as any.”
Hana, Kaito’s older sister was the last of Kaito’s wives scheduled to consummate her submission to him by giving him her anal virginity. Kaito smirked when he remembered year Midori agreed to swap her #3 lot for a price.
He had prepped her for 48 hours. Starting by inserting a 3/4” butt plug for 24 hrs., then replacing it with a 1” plug for 24 hours
With Emiko and Midori out and probably not returning until about 5pm gives them plenty of time
So, Kaito decided to do it this afternoon instead of that evening. He and Hana went upstairs to Kaito’s bedroom. They got undressed and made out for a while. He made gentle love to her laying butterfly kisses all over her face. He licked the outside of her shell-like ear. Nipping her lobe. He kissed his way across her upper chest as he massaged her beautiful, perfectly shaped conical breasts. He began to suckle her right breast as he slowly stroked his way down to her stomach, dipping into her innie belly button and down to gently cup her mons.
Hana was getting worked up. He could feel the heat in her cheeks and lips. When he cupped her baby smooth vulva. She shuddered and had a mini orgasm
She was panting when she voluntarily got up in her knees, she softly asked her brother, “Please, Kaito, be gentle with me. Please don’t hurt me. I want so much to give myself to you, but I’m frightened.”
“Hana, baby. I love you too much to hurt you. Just try to relax, we’ll go slow. Are you read?”
“Yes, Kaito take me, make me yours.”
The air in the room seemed to thicken as Kaito moved. With a slow, steady hand, he reached for the plug that had been her constant companion for the last forty-eight hours. He removed it with a fluid motion, the sudden release of pressure causing Hana to let out a long, shuddering sigh of relief. He didn’t rush the next step; he took a moment to let her body settle, his fingers tracing the curve of her hip to keep her grounded. He applied a generous amount of lubricant, the cool gel contrasting with the feverish heat of her skin, ensuring that every millimeter of the path was prepared.
Kaito shifted his weight, positioning himself carefully behind her. He didn’t rush to the finality of it; instead, he pressed his pelvis against her, letting her feel the sheer scale of him against her trembling thighs. He wanted her to get used to the sensation of him being there, to understand exactly where he was and how they fit together. He leaned forward, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her back against his chest, whispering a steady stream of encouragement into her ear. “Just breathe, Hana. Deep breaths. I’m right here with you.”
As he guided himself to the opening, Hana’s muscles tightened instinctively. She let out a small, sharp whimper, her fingers digging into the mattress. Kaito stopped instantly. He didn’t push; he simply waited, kissing the shoulder blade where her skin was most sensitive. He waited for the tension to bleed out of her, counting the seconds by the rhythm of her panting breaths. He knew the physical preparation of the last two days had done the heavy lifting, but the mental hurdle was the steepest part of the climb.
