Chapter 5
If the reader has read the Karen Series then that reader knows what is coming ... and I’m not going to repeat it here. Many readers complain that I’m just repeating what had gone before in previous stories ... and they down vote. Since there are more of them than there are of you ... go read the series ... or not. Don’t and miss some of my best ... don’t and get immediately confused. Your choice. Now that’s out of the way we can begin Bethanne’s great adventure I’m on an airplane. There’s not a lot than can be written about an airplane ride. If this lumbering Beechcraft was an Extra or a Pitts a ride could be exciting ... but no. Just a simple up and down.
Well ... except the jet flying across the nose and upsetting Karen ... and Amy ... and the machine-guns ... that did liven up the flight, but nothing much else happened ... until...
We landed in Clinton and everybody had to get off, even Amy. The CAA ran riot over everyone ... including Amy. Amy because she ‘frightened’ the jet pilot. And Karen ... because her plane wasn’t ‘current.’
As Karen explained it ... the aircraft wasn’t supposed to be current ... it was supposed to be ‘authentic.’ As in ‘just like it was during WWII.’ Since it simply HAD to comply with ‘Current’ so saith the agent, Karen was fixing to repossess the rest of her bargain with the Department of Aeronautics ... but nothing much happened.
We spent the night ... and flew the rest of the way to Fort Lauderdale ... mostly.
But ... eventually ... we arrived at our destination. Wowzer! What a house!
Karen arranged for aircraft parking ... cost the earth ... and had a better idea. After introductions to the staff we immediately got ... not so much as in trouble ... but we needed to work on our spring tans. One of the benefits of going south was bragging rights and bragging rights included TAN!
