The morning sun cast long shadows across the Barnett College campus as we drove through the gates.

I felt a shiver run down my spine, reader. Not from the cold. From memory. From the weight of everything we’d left behind.

Zoe was quiet beside me, her naked body tense. Her hands were gripping the seat. Her ocean-green eyes were fixed on the familiar buildings.

“Zoe,” I said softly, “we can still turn around.”

“No.” Her voice was firm. “I need to do this. We need to do this.”

I took her hand, reader. I squeezed it tight.

“Okay,” I said. “Then we’ll do it together.”

The campus was different now.

Quieter. Subdued. The summer session hadn’t started yet, so the grounds were mostly empty. But the adobe buildings were still there, golden in the morning light. The archways. The courtyards. The memories.

“Darcy,” Zoe whispered, “I can’t believe we’re back.”

“Neither can I.”

She pointed toward the clock tower. “Remember when we used to walk there? Naked, always naked?”

I smiled, reader. I remembered.

“I remember,” I said. “Everyone is staring. Everyone is whispering.”

“And we didn’t care.”

“We didn’t care at all.”

Dr. Atkins was waiting for us at the sorority house.

She looked older than I remembered, reader. Tired. But there was hope in her eyes.

“Darcy,” she said, embracing me. “Zoe. Thank you for coming.”

“Thank you for inviting us,” I said.

She led us inside, through the familiar halls. The common room. The kitchen. The stairs.

“The Resident Wing is ready,” she said. “We’ve prepared rooms for you.”

Zoe was quiet, reader. She was processing.

“The Resident Wing,” she repeated. “I haven’t been there in so long.”

I took her hand, reader. I squeezed it tight.

“We don’t have to stay there,” I said. “We can stay somewhere else.”

“No.” She shook her head. “I want to stay there. I want to face it.”

We walked through the Resident Wing together.

The corridor was the same—long, white, sterile. The doors were the same. The memories were the same.

“Zoe,” I said, “look.”

She looked, reader. She looked at the empty spaces where the boxes used to be.

“They’re gone,” she whispered. “They’re really gone.”

Dr. Atkins nodded. “We removed them. We’re installing new ones. Safer ones.”

Zoe walked down the corridor, reader. She touched the walls. She touched the doors.

“This is where I used to live,” she said. “This is where I used to surrender.”

I followed her, reader. I stayed close.

“Are you okay?” I asked.

“I don’t know.” She shook her head. “I don’t know if I’m okay.”

I held her, reader. I held her tight.

“It’s okay,” I said. “It’s okay to not be okay.”

We stopped at Zoe’s old room.

The door was open, reader. The room was empty. The bed was gone. The walls were bare.

“This was my room,” Zoe said. “For three years.”

I stood beside her, reader. I took her hand.

“Tell me about it,” I said. “Tell me about what it was like.”

She was quiet for a moment, reader. She was thinking.

“It was my sanctuary,” she said finally. “My safe space. The only place I could be myself.”

“And the boxes?”

She smiled, reader. A sad smile.

“The boxes were my freedom.” She shook her head. “I know that sounds crazy. But it’s true. When I was in the box, I didn’t have to think. I didn’t have to decide. I just had to be.”

I kissed her, reader. I kissed her as I meant it.

“I understand,” I said. “I really do.”

We walked to the pool area.

The boxes were gone. Replaced by something new. Something safer.

“Dr. Atkins,” I said, “show us the safety measures.”

She nodded, reader. She led us to the new setup.

“These are the new boxes,” she said. “Magnetic locks. Emergency release buttons. Oxygen sensors. Quick-release mechanisms.”

Zoe walked to one of the boxes, reader. She touched it. She examined it.

“It’s different,” she said. “It feels ... safer.”

“It is safer,” Dr. Atkins said. “We’ve installed everything we promised. Medical staff on site at all times. Wellness checks every 30 minutes. Mandatory rest periods. Psychological counseling available to all cunt faces.”

I looked at the list, reader. I felt the tears well up in my eyes.

“This is incredible,” I said. “This is everything we wanted.”

She nodded. “It took a long time. But we finally did it.”

Zoe walked to the edge of the pool.

The water was clear and blue. Inviting.

“Darcy,” she said, “remember the first time we came here?”

I walked to her, reader. I stood beside her.

“I remember,” I said. “Jennifer pushed me onto a box. I didn’t know what I was doing.”

She laughed, that beautiful laugh.

“You were so scared,” she said. “So innocent.”

“I was.” I nodded. “But I’m not anymore.”

She turned to me, reader. Her eyes were ocean-green and full of love.

“We’ve come so far,” she said. “So incredibly far.”

I kissed her, reader. I kissed her as I meant it.

“Because of you,” I said. “Because of us.”

Dr. Atkins gave us a tour of the new facilities.

“The medical station is here,” she said. “Staffed 24/7. Every cunt face gets a physical exam before each session.”

I nodded, reader. I was impressed.

“The monitoring room is here,” she continued. “Oxygen levels, heart rate, breathing. Everything is tracked.”

Zoe looked at the monitors, reader. She was studying them.

“And the emergency release?” she asked.
