Chapter 34: Day 51
After a full day of rest to recover from the revelry, the Newtown contingent returned home. They had left before first light, which allowed them to arrive late in the afternoon, pressing the horses. After washing up, Matthias met with Jorah.
"Everything is proceeding apace," Jorah said. "I was unable to locate a tub large enough to fit two, but a craftsman in Fulham agreed to construct one. It should arrive in about a ten-day."
"Countess Lilia will be pleased."
"Now that the windmill is drawing the water via the wheel, we have no need of the ox."
"Do any of the pledged farms have need of an ox?"
"I will inquire."
"If so, offer it for a nominal payment; otherwise, sell it to a livestock merchant."
"Yes, my Lord."
"Send word to the Lord Mayor that I would like the promised City Guardsmen tomorrow."
"I'll see to that immediately."
"Anything else for me?"
"No, my Lord."

"Thank you for coming to Haven, Jillian!" Miri said happily.
"I was summoned by my Princess! Of course I traveled here!"
Miri smiled. "Your cousin Miri asked you to visit."
The two girls hugged and laughed.
"How does it feel to be royalty?" Jillian asked.
"Exciting!"
"And how does it feel to be under the Prince?" Jillian asked with a smirk.
"Even more exciting!" Miri declared.
"And compared to Matthias?" Jillian inquired.
"You must forever keep that to yourself. The Prince believes I was a maiden, and it is crucial he continues to believe it."
"Your secret is safe with me! I heard the report about the sheet and was confused."
