Preface

This «異世界» (Isekai) story takes place in an imaginary world with many features of 11th- to 13th-century England. This specific world is one imagined by a nineteen-year-old gamer for an RPG, but the RPG aspect is limited to the first few days of the tale, and is not integral to the story beyond the setup. There are no game mechanics, stats, leveling, or any similar elements.

It is not intended to be historically accurate, nor is it meant to exactly match social or technological development. Living conditions are significantly better than those of the historical medieval period; food is more plentiful, and there is increased trade. Shipbuilding is more advanced, a professional military has developed, but there is no gunpowder.
