The next morning, they headed to the outdoor cafe again, taking advantage of the buffet breakfast. After taking a table that overlooked the beach, Kate noticed the young woman again heading to the buffet. Now dressed in a T-shirt that covered up a bikini, Tom just stared, but knowing she had a better chance of breaking the ice, Kate made the excuse of getting more coffee before joining the young woman as she looked over the pastries.
“Hard to choose, isn’t it?” Kate said.
The young woman turned to her, recognizing her instantly.
“You were at the table next to us last night. I know Tom certainly noticed you.” Kate smiled.
“Oh yes.” she replied, a bit embarrassed.
“I’m Kate, by the way.”
