Chapter 15

BOOM!

Marcus Blake and Kara Quinn were instantly stunned. What? A Supreme Black Card? One that could buy half the world?

They stared at the card in Ethan Blackthorn’s hand, unable to believe their eyes. Their faces turned deathly pale, and they looked as if they had just eaten shit — an ugly sight to behold.

Ethan, however, just smiled. He knew exactly who had spoken. It was, of course, Mia Sterling.

Today, Mia was dressed with a coquettishness that seemed ingrained in her very bones. Beneath her pink, hip-length skirt, she revealed a pair of perfectly rounded, straight, and slender legs. They were supremely sexy even without stockings. Paired with her bewitching face and watery, captivating eyes, a single glance was enough to stir an intense heat within any man.

Mia sauntered up to Ethan with a coquettish smile, giving him a look brimming with flirtatious charm. Seeing Marcus and Kara’s ashen faces, she chuckled. “Look at how scared you two are. I was just joking. How could this crappy little card possibly be the legendary Supreme Black Card?”

At her words, Marcus and Kara were so relieved they could have cried. They genuinely thought they were about to be forced to eat shit and never expected such a dramatic turn of events.

“Miss Sterling, you’ve arrived!” Kara said, her face wreathed in smiles.

Mia nodded. “Kara Quinn, you’re doing a fine job here,” she said, smiling sweetly.

Kara was thrilled. She hadn’t expected Mia to praise her so quickly. No exaggeration — she had always dreamed of gaining Mia’s recognition. After all, her boss was known for being generous. Once she earned her approval, her own rise to success wouldn’t be far behind.

“Miss Sterling, rest assured, I will continue to work hard.”

Sophia Reed felt a pang of despair. She didn’t envy Mia’s praise for Kara, nor was she upset that the deal had fallen through because Ethan’s card was supposedly fake. What truly bothered her was that Miss Sterling was praising Kara despite her abysmal attitude toward customers.

“Excellent. I like employees just like you,” Mia said, her smile as radiant as a flower.

Kara grew even more ecstatic and shot a triumphant glance at Sophia.

“Miss Sterling, I don’t think Sophia is suitable for our sales department!”

“Why is that?” Mia asked with a smile.

“Dragon’s Crest Estates is the most prestigious villa complex in all of Silverton City. I’ve always believed that it’s our Dragon’s Crest Estates that chooses its clients, not the other way around. A filthy beggar like him merely being here lowers the standing of our entire establishment, yet Sophia insisted on serving him,” Kara said, her voice dripping with self-righteousness.

Mia chuckled. “You’re right. In your opinion, how should Sophia be handled?”

“Fire her!” Kara declared righteously.

Sophia’s heart sank. Her beautiful eyes instantly turned red, her face etched with humiliation. Her lips trembled as if she wanted to offer an explanation, but in the end, no words came out.

Mia chuckled, her gaze falling upon Marcus. “Well now, Young Master Blake, you’re here too!”

Marcus nodded eagerly, his voice filled with excitement. “Miss Sterling, I—I’m here to buy a villa.”

“Is that so? How wonderful! And which one has caught your eye?” she asked with a smile.

At her words, Marcus became even more ecstatic. My goddess actually said “how wonderful” to me! I have to seize this opportunity!

“Miss Sterling, I ... I want to buy Villa Sixteen!”

Yes, Marcus had just changed his plan on the spot. He was afraid that saying Villa Eighteen would make Mia look down on him, even though he was keenly aware that Villa Sixteen was one hundred million dollars more expensive. That extra cost might just be enough to plunge the already struggling Blake Corporation into a full-blown financial crisis. But to win his goddess’s heart, Marcus was willing to risk it all.

Mia’s smile grew even more enchanting. “As expected of the Blake family’s young master. Such a grand gesture.”

Marcus felt like he was walking on clouds, completely disoriented by his joy. He wasn’t the only one who was thrilled; Kara was ecstatic as well. The sale price had just jumped by a hundred million, which meant her commission was going to be astronomical.

“Mia, my feelings for you are genuine. I hope you’ll seriously consider me,” Marcus said, striking while the iron was hot.

Mia laughed. “Oh, I’ll consider you, I’ll definitely consider you. It seems I underestimated you before, Young Master Blake.”

Marcus was so overjoyed he could have cried. His efforts had finally paid off; Mia had taken notice of him! “You filthy beggar,” he sneered at Ethan, his arrogance swelling. “You can get on your knees and lick my and Kara’s shoes clean now.”

The previous night, Mia had shown clear favor toward Ethan, which had made Marcus hesitate to act recklessly. But now that she had clearly been won over by his own grandeur, he had nothing left to fear. He was so consumed by his triumph that he failed to notice the sinister glint that flashed through Mia’s eyes.

“What’s all this about?” Mia asked, her smile as radiant as a flower.

“Mia, you have no idea. This piece of trash insisted on showing off, claiming he could afford the King Villa. He even made a bet with us that if he couldn’t, he would lick my and Kara’s shoes clean!” Marcus explained with a vicious grin.

Kara chimed in triumphantly, “That’s right, Miss Sterling! This filthy beggar isn’t just poor, he’s insufferably arrogant!”

Thinking about the beggar’s impending humiliation, both Marcus and Kara trembled with excitement.

“I’m curious, what were the terms of your bet?” Mia asked with a laugh.

“It’s simple. If this filthy beggar can afford the King Villa, Kara and I will eat shit. If he can’t, he has to lick our shoes clean.”

Mia burst into laughter, her whole body shaking with amusement. Marcus felt he couldn’t get enough of the sight, wishing he could glue his eyes to her body. So damn sultry, so damn seductive.

But in the middle of her laughter, her expression abruptly turned as cold as ice.

“Alright, playtime’s over. Sophia, go get the contract for the King Villa!”

“Huh?” Sophia was taken aback.

“What, didn’t you hear me?”

Sophia snapped back to reality. “Miss Sterling, this gentleman has already signed the contract!” she said hastily.

“Oh? Even better.”

Marcus and Kara suddenly felt that something was terribly wrong.

“Miss Sterling ... this ... this filthy beggar ... I don’t think he can afford the King Villa,” Kara stammered, her voice trembling.

Mia’s voice was like ice. “Who said anything about him buying it? I’m giving the King Villa to him. And Sophia, your commission on this deal still stands. That means you’ll be receiving a fifty-million-dollar bonus.”

BOOM!

Marcus’s and Kara’s minds went completely blank. Mia Sterling is giving the one-billion-dollar King Villa to this filthy beggar? And she’s giving Sophia a fifty-million-dollar commission?

Kara felt the urge to die. Sophia was utterly dumbfounded.

Marcus felt like his brain had short-circuited. He stared at Mia, his face ashen. “Mia ... why?” he asked, unable to accept it. “Why would you do that?”

Mia flashed a seductive smile. “Oh, that’s simple. He’s great in bed.”

Marcus was so angry he almost passed out.
