“Come on, Gwen, you’ve gotta come...” Joey whined.

“I just don’t want to. What’s the big deal? You can go do whatever it is you want to do with that girl, without dragging me there, too,” Gwen countered. “Now keep your voice down, or you’ll wake up Mom and Dad.”

They’d been sitting in the hot tub looking up at the stars for over an hour. Their parents had gone to bed around 11:00, so the pair decided to take a late-night dip. It was relaxing, and both of them wished they had one of these at home, especially Gwen. She wriggled her butt a little to the left, getting just a bit closer to the jet. Parting her legs just a bit, the pressure of the water hit in just the right spot.

Joey wasn’t about to give up so easily; this party could be the break he was looking for. Rachel was hot and sexy and really seemed into him. If he could impress her at the party, there was a good chance she would take him to her room, and he could seal the deal. This vacation was already paying off better than any summer at home in Rochester. He just needed a way to convince his sister to come, too.

“Don’t you want to meet people our age? We’re here for six weeks, it’d be nice to make a few friends, don’t you think?”

Gwen shrugged; her boobs bobbed as they floated inside her top. The jet of water felt good, better than the detachable shower head at home. It wouldn’t get her off, not that she wanted to do that in front of her brother, but it did give her the tingles. She didn’t want to argue. She just wanted to look up at the starry sky and let the feeling run up and down her spine. It seemed he wouldn’t allow that to happen.

“Joey, I just ... sure, making new friends would be cool, I’ll admit. I’m glad you got what you got, but don’t you think she’s going a bit fast? You don’t even know her!” she argued.

“Is it so wrong that a girl might actually like me? Maybe she thinks I’m sexy...”

“I’m not saying she doesn’t, but she’s coming on a little strong. What’s the saying? Never trust a girl who kisses on the first date? Now multiply that by ten for what happened today.”

“I think it’s ok, Gwen,” Joey chuckled.

Gwen shook her head, “Not when the head you’re thinking with is the one below your shoulders.”

“That’s mean.”

“I’m right, though,” argued Gwen. “So, say I go, and everything happens the way you want. What am I gonna do while you’re doing your thing with your thing?”

The question stumped her brother. “What do you mean?”

Gwen explained. “Ok, say you’re in her bedroom, you’re getting what you want ... and likely crabs. I’m stuck at a house party all alone with no one I actually know. I’m going to be bored out of my mind.”

“You could talk to people?” he said sarcastically. “Maybe you could meet someone, too.”

“Why would I want that? I’m not obsessed with it like you are.” Gwen slowly closed her legs.

“Come on, sis. You’ve never even touched one before...”

“That’s ... not true,” Gwen said, going back through her memories. “Uh ... I touched Dougie Neilson’s in the pool that one time.”

Joey laughed, “We were playing Marco Polo, and you hit him in the dick. That doesn’t count.”

Gwen smiled, “Kinda does, it squished. I think Dougie would’ve agreed, once he could stand again.”

“Cold-blooded,” smiled Joey. “Ok, here’s an idea. Maybe you need to meet a few of them beforehand, then when you go, you’ll know a few people. Like, maybe we could hang out with Rachel and her brother tomorrow or something?”

Gwen thought it wasn’t a bad idea. It would be nice to have a few more people to hang out with besides her brother. Normally, that would have been fine. She loved hanging out with her brother. But if he kept disappearing with this girl, Gwen knew she’d have a lot of long, boring days sitting alone for the next six weeks.

“Ok, what’s he like?” Gwen asked, opening herself to the concept.

“Honestly, I don’t know. I only spoke with him for a minute at the coffee place. Good looking guy, tanned, hair, thought you were my girlfriend,” Joey laughed. “Ridiculous, right? Anyway, he thought you were cute. Then our order arrived, and I left. Rachel followed me to the store, and you know the rest.”

Gwen groaned, but not from the water jet. “Ugh, fine. Maybe we can hang out for a bit tomorrow or the next day. I just don’t want you ditching me again.”

“When have I ever ditched you, besides today ... sorry about that.”

“Uh, Jen Goldman’s birthday party when you thought you had a shot with her? You left me with her parents and weird uncle,” Gwen fired back. She remembered that man never stopped staring at her still developing chest. She was sure if the FBI checked his hard drives, they’d find something grotesque.

“That was, well, you were fine. There were other people there. She just wanted to show me her bedroom,” he explained.

“Yeah, which you thought meant she’d do stuff with you - in her house, with her parents close by. She only wanted to show you a poster, wasn’t it?” Gwen laughed, her brother could be quite dense sometimes.

“We kissed once. It wasn’t out of the realm of-”

Gwen stopped him, “You kissed her in a game of spin the bottle. It wasn’t a love thing.”

This was one Joey wasn’t going to win, and he knew it. He accepted defeat but he still needed her to help him.

“Please, I’m begging you to help me. Just get to know them and maybe we can all be friends,” Joey pleaded.

Gwen sighed, “I already said we can all hang out tomorrow or whatever. If I’m not having fun, I’m leaving though.”

“That’s fair. That’s all I ask. You’re the best, sis.”

The next day, the pair headed out before noon to meet Rachel and her brother at the coffee shop. Joey had messaged Rachel earlier that morning to suggest they all hang out. She thought it was a great idea, and they could all get to know each other better.

Told to bring their swimwear, they wore them underneath their clothes. Neither were quite sure what they’d be doing. Rachel just told him it would be fun. The two walked along the small lake towards the beach. The sun was hot with no clouds for cover. It was the end of June, and the summer heat was really kicking in.

“Why are we not just going to the beach,” Gwen complained as they walked its sandy shore. Over top of her bathing suit, she chose to wear a thin pink halter top with a short white skirt. She figured it would help keep her cool.

The beach was busy due to the heat. The air smelled of BBQ and sunscreen. Towels and blankets littered the sand as Frisbees flew and children built their dream castles.

“You promised you’d come. Besides, this will be fun,” Joey tried to convince her. He just kept flashing back to Rachel on her knees sucking his dick. It felt so good. If sex was half as good as that, he’d probably die a happy man.

They walked the wooded path and emerged at the parking lot. It was much busier than the previous day, with the lot mostly full. The main road through town also had higher traffic, with cars clogging up the small intersections and the smell of car exhaust in the air. It made Gwen cough, as they crossed the street and headed to the coffee place.

The line was out the door. It really didn’t seem like this small town could handle this much traffic, and was nearly bursting at the seams. Joey spotted a waving hand in one of the windows and soon, two teens squeezed out the front doors to join them.

“Wow, this place got busy fast!” Joey said pointing to all the people.

Todd replied, “Yeah, this happens every hot summer day. Kind of annoying, but you get used to it. There are some small benefits though, like meeting new people.” Todd put out his hand to Gwen, “Hi, I’m Todd. Rachel’s older brother.”

She shook it. “I’m Gwen. And no, it’s not short for Gwendolyn, Gwyneth or anything like that.”

Gwen had gotten that question her whole life and it annoyed her. She liked her name but people always assumed it was short for something. She even had a hard time at the DMV when she tried to get her driver’s license. The woman wouldn’t listen that her name was simply, ‘Gwen’.

Todd didn’t seem to know what to do with that. “Uh, ok. Well, shall we?”

Rachel grabbed Joey’s hand, “I think we shall.”

The foursome started walking along the street. Todd took the lead, walking confidently along the busy street. He spoke a bit about the town and the tourist season.

Gwen listened and observed. Her brother and Rachel were hard flirting behind her. Todd was a few paces in front and seemed to be talking to her specifically. Maybe he knew his sister and Joey were in their own world. Maybe he was just trying to impress her. She wasn’t really sure, but she wasn’t about to drop her guard.

Todd was good looking, she had to admit. His clean-shaven face had strong features that made him attractive. It was helped by his deep tan and visible muscles she could see under the loose tank top he wore. She did think his bleached-blonde hair was a bit much, especially when it was obvious his natural color was the same as his sister’s.

“My sister told me you’re from Rochester. What’s that like?” Todd asked as they strolled along.

“It’s fine, bigger than here and smaller than New York or even Buffalo. What about you, do you like living here?” Gwen asked, feeling like she might as well talk to someone.

Todd chuckled, “It’s ok. Summer is obviously busy but the rest of the year it’s pretty dead. There aren’t that many people our age, so it can get pretty boring.”

“If there aren’t that many young people, where’d you go to school?”

“We get bussed to a nearby town. Everyone from the county goes there, but even then, it’s only about six-hundred students,” Todd explained. “We mostly hang out with those in our little clustered communities though. What about you?”

Gwen looked around. They’d walked beyond the town’s borders and were just walking along the road. She decided to ask, “Where are we going?”

“Some place quieter than the beach,” said Todd.

They walked a little further before turning down the hidden path. Gwen grew nervous as the sounds of cars faded into the distance. Being a girl, Gwen was more aware of the dangers of going someplace off the beaten path with a guy she didn’t know. She had Joey with her, of course, but Rachel kept him occupied.

“Here we are,” said Todd as they stepped into the meadow with the small quiet pond.

Gwen was impressed, “This is actually really nice.”

“It’s sort of a locals only place. A quiet spot to get away from the tourists,” Rachel said. She disentangled herself from Joey, and began removing her top and shorts.

“Yeah, we thought that since you’re here for six weeks, we’d let you in on the secret,” Todd said before stripping down to a pair of shorts.

Gwen noticed that Rachel was wearing a much more conservative bikini than the one she’d had on the other day. This one was blue with white flowers and covered more of her body. It seemed odd to the younger sibling and stuck out. Why would Rachel be comfortable walking around town in almost nothing, but go to a private swimming pond in more conservative attire.

Joey stripped down to his shorts leaving Gwen standing there alone. The other three jumped into the pond and were splashing around. Not wanting to be left out, Gwen stripped down to her pink bikini and joined the rest.

The water was deeper than she expected. In some places she couldn’t even touch the bottom. She swam around in a small circle, figuring out the characteristics of the pond. Where she could touch the bottom, it was muddy, not rocky, which made it easier on her feet. The water wasn’t clear, being more of a murky brown, likely from the sediment being kicked up.

“How many people usually hang around here?” Joey asked while floating next to Rachel.

“Typically, just us and Todd’s friends. There used to be a few more of us, like the Thompson twins. They left for college last fall, and haven’t come back yet,” said Rachel.

“If it’s just you guys, where are your friends?” asked Gwen.

“Well, Joey said you were a little uncomfortable,” Rachel said, looking over at her brother.

“Yeah, we kind of thought it might be best if we kept the number of people down,” Todd added.

That made Gwen feel bad for being so skittish. She didn’t know why she felt so defensive, she was usually a more trusting person. The only thing she could think of was she wasn’t on familiar ground and felt like an outsider. But Rachel and Todd seemed to be trying to reach out, so maybe she just needed to relax.

“What are your friends doing today then?” Gwen inquired.

“Probably at the beach,” Todd said. “We’re sort of the unofficial welcoming committee for the tourists.”

“They try to find all the teens our age for parties and whatnot,” Rachel explained.

Todd laughed, “It’s actually harder than it sounds. People come and go constantly all summer. Some are here for a weekend, others for a week or two...”

Rachel continued, “ ... but ones like you are rare. Staying for almost the whole summer? That’s why we brought you here. You’re like, almost one of us.”

Under the murky cover of the water, she reached out to stroke the front of Joey’s shorts. He got rock hard immediately. He then had to hide it by staying low in the water. He wanted payback and reached over to stealthily fondle one of Rachel’s tits. He wanted to go lower but had remembered what she’d said yesterday. He didn’t want to upset her or get blood on his hands.

“But how’d you know we were staying longer?” Gwen asked after she thought about it for a moment.

“Most short-term people arrive for the fourth of July weekend. If you’re here in June, you’re probably staying for a while,” explained Todd.

It still didn’t make sense to Gwen, but maybe she just didn’t get it. She imagined year after year having a sudden influx of tourists, she’d probably pick up some of the weird signs, too. Yet, she couldn’t imagine living in a place this small for that long. How they didn’t go crazy or get sick of each other, she didn’t know. Beyond her brother, she couldn’t think of anyone she’d want to be stuck alone with for months at a time.

“So, Gwen,” Rachel asked, “Do you have a boyfriend back home?”

Joey laughed and answered for her, “She doesn’t. She doesn’t believe in such things, and claims she doesn’t have any interest.”

“What?!” both Rachel and Todd exclaimed at the same time.

“A pretty girl like you? What a waste,” added Todd.

Gwen attempted to defend herself, “I just have other things going on. I’m not against it, I just don’t actively participate normally.”

“You don’t have to explain yourself,” Todd said. “I didn’t mean to upset you. It’s just, there aren’t that many girls around here. But no big deal, we can just be friends.”

Gwen smiled, “’Friends’ is good.”
