Chapter 24: The Live Stream That Broke The Internet
Seeing Ethan, the girl hurried over.
“Hi there, do you have a lighter?”
Rushing to Ethan’s side, Zoe Harrington asked.
“No.”
Ethan shook his head.
“Then why can you light up my heart?”
Zoe said to Ethan with a shy, flirtatious look.
“Oh.”
Ethan responded flatly.
Before he could say anything else, Zoe grabbed his arm and pulled him into a nearby milk tea shop.
Inside the shop, Zoe acted like Ethan’s girlfriend, sitting across from him with a sweet smile.
“Will you be my boyfriend?”
The next second, Zoe asked quite directly.
“I don’t have a job. Doesn’t that bother you?” Ethan spoke.
“No worries, I can support you.”
Ethan continued,
“I don’t have money, and my parents don’t have any savings either.”
“I like you for who you are, not for your money. I don’t mind.”
Zoe said, looking very sincere.
“I don’t have a house.”
“No problem, I have a house. You can live at my place.”
Faced with Ethan’s series of questions, the beauty seemed to have thought it all through, answering swiftly.
“Really?”
Ethan muttered to himself.
Over the years, he had known countless girls and seen all kinds of beautiful women. Of course, he had also encountered quite a few gold-diggers and scheming types.
Through Zoe’s subtle changes in expression, Ethan had already categorized her as a “scheming girl.”
But of course, there was also the possibility that he was mistaken.
The outcome would soon reveal itself.
Ethan spoke again.
“And my car is pretty lousy. It only seats two people.”
“That’s fine. Two seats are better. As long as I have you, nothing else matters!”
Zoe answered with deep affection.
Sports cars, of course, have two seats. A four-seater ordinary car certainly couldn’t compare to a supercar, much less a Koenigsegg worth millions!
Zoe had only met Ethan a few days ago.
She heard from a dorm mate that a few days earlier, this dorm mate, along with Gavin Langford, Fang Man, and others, went to The Snow Pavilion for dinner.
There, they encountered a super low-key billionaire.
He not only possessed god-like looks — devastatingly handsome — but also owned a Koenigsegg worth millions and lived in a villa at The Sovereign Villas.
Absolutely a top-tier wealthy, tall, and handsome guy.
Finally, her dorm mate even showed them a picture of Ethan.
Having both wealth and drop-dead looks, that one glance made Zoe remember Ethan deeply.
She hadn’t expected to be so lucky as to run into this low-key, mysterious billionaire here.
Zoe understood that Ethan was testing her just now.
It wasn’t her first time. She had caught several rich second-generation heirs before, but compared to Ethan, those guys were nothing.
As long as she became Ethan’s girlfriend, she could marry into wealth. Villas, luxury cars, and a house full of designer bags and shoes wouldn’t be just a dream.
Thinking this, Zoe tried hard to put on a naïve, innocent look as she gazed at Ethan.
Seeing Zoe’s expression, Ethan was quite certain.
Indeed, she was a scheming girl.
“I think there’s been a misunderstanding. My car isn’t a sports car. It’s just an ordinary bicycle, very cheap.”
Ethan said helplessly.
“Huh?”
Zoe was caught by surprise. How could that be?
“No problem.”
With a quick thought, Zoe decided to keep up the act.
“Mr. Caldwell, we’ve arrived.”
In just over ten minutes, someone from the insurance company had brought the vehicle over.
“I know.”
Ethan put down his phone.
“Don’t believe me? Let me show you.”
With that, Ethan got up and walked outside.
With a puzzled expression, Zoe curiously followed him out.
Could this guy really be broke?
Was her dorm mate lying?
Suddenly, Zoe began to doubt. After all, the Koenigsegg and luxurious villa were things her dorm mate mentioned without solid evidence.
Back on The Linden Row, Ethan immediately spotted Manager Yang of the insurance company not far away.
Right now, alongside Manager Yang stood a brand-new Nightfall bicycle.
“Look.”
Ethan pointed at the Nightfall and said to Zoe.
“This...”
Seeing the Nightfall, Zoe was stunned.
Was it really a bicycle?
Not a Koenigsegg, nor any sports car.
“It only has two seats, right?”
Ethan took the Nightfall from Manager Yang.
Watching Ethan with the bicycle, Zoe’s face went through a spectrum of colors as she trembled with fury.
At this moment, she was certain.
Ethan was indeed broke!
It was that wretch who deceived her, causing her to waste so much time and smiles, sitting to drink milk tea with a poor guy.
No matter how handsome he was, what’s the use? Could he give her mansions, luxury cars, or buy her handbags worth thousands?
“You wretch, I’ll definitely get you back for this.”
Zoe thought to herself.
“You really are broke, huh? With you like this, you think you can be my boyfriend?”
“Dream on!”
Facing Ethan, Zoe dropped her act and directly tore off the facade, cursing like a shrew.
“Ha.”
Ethan sneered. His instincts were right.
This Zoe thought her scheming was impressive, but unfortunately, she was far from being a high-tier scheming girl.
So that’s it. No more acting?
Boring.
Ethan didn’t want to continue teasing her. After thanking Manager Yang, he pedaled away on his Nightfall.
Watching Ethan leave, Manager Yang couldn’t help but sigh,
“These rich people these days ... you just can’t understand.”
“With four or five million dollars, wouldn’t it be better to buy a Lamborghini or a Rolls-Royce instead of a bicycle?”
Manager Yang shook his head, deeply moved.
He couldn’t comprehend the minds of the ultra-wealthy.
“What?”
Not far away, Zoe, who was ready to leave, paused immediately, her face blank.
What did she just hear?
Did this man say Ethan’s bicycle was four or five million, comparable to a Rolls-Royce?
How could that be possible?
Zoe thought she misheard, so she quickly turned and asked Manager Yang anxiously.
“Did you say his bicycle is four or five million?”
“Yeah. Didn’t you know? It’s a Nightfall bicycle, designed by top international designers. Only three in the world. The price is comparable to a Lamborghini.”
Manager Yang said enviously.
“What?”
Hearing this, Zoe was dumbfounded.
That was actually a bicycle comparable to a Lamborghini?!
How could that be?
“Does he really live in The Sovereign Villas, with a villa there?”
Zoe asked again, her entire body trembling with nervousness.
“Of course. We originally planned to send the bike to The Sovereign Villas, but we didn’t expect Mr. Caldwell to be nearby, saving us the trouble.”
