Chapter 7: Friday - Last Day Skiing

They met at 8 in the dining room which had seemed a much better idea the night before than it did in the morning. However, they were rewarded with fresh snow which had fallen overnight and virtually deserted pistes which they were able to descend at break-neck speeds without worrying about collisions.

After a couple of descents, they managed a quick hot chocolate before joining their ski class. Paulo took them on some challenging off-piste runs in virgin snow so that they were starving by the end of the lesson. The bean stew at the mountain restaurant never tasted so good, nor did the couple of glasses of wine which Dan managed to get. In the afternoon they skied together until the lifts closed at 5 then after a quick stop to get a drink and more calories, they went to the pool for a swim, determined to make the best of their last day. They then went back to their rooms for a quick shower and change for the last night dinner and party.

As agreed, Dan knocked on her door when he was ready. Maria invited him in saying that all the girls were decent but not quite ready. Izzy soon appeared from the bathroom dressed in her black micro-dress and flashing a lot of pretty leg. Her roommates were also flashing a lot of bare skin as they were getting ready, so he was having trouble knowing where to look.

“Let’s go downstairs if you’re ready, Izzy” he suggested

“I am” she replied. “And I’d better drag you away from all this female flesh!”

They had an excellent dinner with local dishes and they were allowed a glass of wine. Dan even managed to get his and Izzy’s glasses topped up. After dinner they played some party games including musical chairs which some of the older girls found a bit tame, so they introduced a more fun version where the boys sat on the chairs and the girls circulated until the music stopped when they had to find a boy’s knee to sit on. Miss Evans started a few games of spin-the-bottle where the person the bottle pointed to had to answer a question about skiing correctly, otherwise they were out. Ben introduced a new version where the person answering correctly got a kiss from the first member of the opposite sex to their left.

After a few more games, Izzy went over to Dan, gave him a quick kiss and whispered in his ear “I’m ready!”, then loud enough for anyone nearby to hear “I’m tired after all that skiing, so I’m going up to bed.”

Maria who was sitting near them just giggled. Miss Evans also overheard, wished her goodnight and made a note of the time when she saw Dan checking his watch. Exactly ten minutes later, Dan said to Ben “I’m tired, so I think I’ll head off to bed.”

So, Miss Evans thought Izzy and Dan must have agreed on a ten minute gap between them going upstairs, so that people would not get suspicious. She thought she would give them a few minutes before going up to check. However, she was busy organising activities and trying to stop some couples overdoing their passionate kisses and did not get around to checking on Izzy and Dan for almost an hour when the party was winding down.
