Chapter 19: The Curse

Months had passed since they returned from the Void.

Kiran and Farren had moved in together almost immediately. Their little apartment was filled with warmth, laughter, and the constant sound of bodies colliding. They fucked like rabbits; morning, night, and sometimes in the middle of the day when one of them simply couldn’t wait any longer.

There were mornings where Kiran woke Farren up by slowly riding him, tail wagging as he took the wolf’s knot before breakfast. There were nights where Farren bent Kiran over the kitchen counter while dinner burned on the stove. There were lazy Sunday afternoons spent tangled in bed, Farren lazily fucking Kiran from behind while they watched old movies.

They went on dates too, real ones. Farren took Kiran to quiet restaurants where the fox would tease him under the table with his foot. They went hiking in the mountains, where Farren would pin Kiran against a tree and fuck him until his legs shook. They even tried (and failed) to go to the movies once, but ended up in the back row with Kiran’s muzzle buried in Farren’s lap.

Life was good. Better than either of them had ever expected.

But then Farren things changed.

It began slowly. A cough here, a little fatigue there. At first, they brushed it off. Farren had spent years in the Void, of course his body needed time to readjust. But the sickness didn’t go away. It got worse.
