Outside, Deana sank down into the luxurious leather seat and closed the car door. It was a guess, but she imagined the sporty two-seater cost as much as her father’s seven-passenger Cadillac Escalade. It made Deana smile, thinking Aunt Sally was rich. It was like Sally’s fuck you, I made it anyway.

Sally got in, started the car, and asked, “Did you show Evan the pictures?”

Deana nodded and grabbed a bag off the floor. “Rebecca is going to love this.”

“I’m sure she will,” Sally said, “and so will you.”

Deana blushed and squirmed on the leather while Sally drove away from what now felt like a house, not home.

“How much did you tell your brother?”

“I helped him a little, but didn’t tell him much. He knows about Darlene. Don’t worry, he won’t say anything,” Deana said. “But we think Darlene knows.”

Sally took several deep breaths. “She does. Candy, um, well, she didn’t tell her, but confirmed it.”

“You’re mad at her?”

“Yes, but Candy doesn’t deserve it,” Sally said. “She didn’t have a choice other than to lie. Who invited Angel—Darlene to the party?”

“That would be Candy’s mini-me, Gloria.”

Sally nodded thoughtfully and smiled. “What’s going on with them?”

In any other family, Deana would have been very uncomfortable about what she was going to say to her aunt. “They are way beyond kissing cousins.”

“This is getting complicated.”

Deana wasn’t sure Sally meant to speak aloud, so she said, “Evan thought the same thing about our mother and your father.”

“What’s that?”

“That they were lov—They were in love.”

“Dee, I told you how it was,” Sally said. “My dad loved Sandy, looked out for her, and she looked up to him.”

“They weren’t lovers?”

“No, absolutely not.”

Deana was disappointed. She wanted her mother to have had someone other than the asshole she married the way Candy had Evan and Cindy. Maybe she also hoped Sandra was bad, like her? “Your father didn’t want her to be with him, right?”

“Exactly.”

“How did she end up with him?”

Sally shook her head. “I don’t know.”

“Evan will be glad they weren’t lovers. It upset him.”

“What about Cindy?”

“No!” Deana said. “He can’t know yet or maybe ever.”

“Yeah, I know,” Sally said. “He wasn’t doing that twin thing you do, was he?”

“What do you mean?”

“Did he tell you he was upset thinking your mother had an affair?”

“Huh.” She watched Sally’s tits jiggle as they crossed the railroad tracks without slowing down. “No.”

“Then that’s what I mean,” Sally said.

“How do you know about us ... that?”

Sally laughed. “You’ve been doing it since you were babies. I could put you in a different room, far enough away so you couldn’t hear each other, but if you cried, so did Evan. If I put you back together, you both stopped. If he was happy, laughing, so were you. You said your first word at the same time. Eventually, you were finishing each other’s thoughts.”

“I keep forgetting you were our babysitter,” Deana said. “What was it?”

“What?”

“Our first word?”

Sally blinked hard several times. “Mommy.”

After a minute of silence, Deana asked, “What about Cindy? When she was around did she seem to know what I was thinking?”

Sally took her time and chose her words carefully. “I’ll deny I said this, so don’t repeat it, but I think your sister has a way of getting inside peoples’ heads.”

It was the first time Deana had heard anybody refer to Cindy as her sister, and Deana couldn’t hold her tears back anymore. “I’m glad someone else thinks that.” Deana waved her arm and pointed. “Turn right, turn right. Rebecca’s house will be the third on the left.”

In Rebecca’s driveway, Sally squeezed Deana’s hand. “Thank you for trusting me, for letting me be a part of your life. I don’t deserve it.”

Deana snapped, “Fuck that! Fuck him, this is his fault. I hate him and love you.”

Sally leaned across the car and gathered Deana in her arms. “Me too, but don’t you worry bout a thing. I—we, Candy and me, we got this. You go have fun with Rebecca and don’t think about him. We’ll never let him hurt you again.”

Deana squeegeed her face in the crook of her arm. “Okay.” She spotted Rebecca looking out the narrow window beside the door. “Rebecca is probably getting some crazy ideas right now.”

“I bet she is, and I have a feeling it’ll make her that much more excited to see you.”

“I better go before she comes out here and tries to get you to come in.”

“Seriously?”

“Oh, yeah, seriously,” Deana said. “She thinks you’re hot.”

“She’s a wild one, huh?”

“You have no idea.” Even thinking about sex was like Novocaine for Deana’s emotional pain. “I was video chatting with her last time you were in my room, and Rebecca thought we fooled around, and she was excited about it.”

“In that case,” Sally said and kissed Deana.

“Wow, now I might be the one dragging you in. I better go.”

“Dee, you’re bad,” Sally said. “Go have fun. You deserve it.”

Deana watched her aunt drive away. She loved Aunt Sally, and liked her, too. It felt good to have an adult friend who knew her so well. It was like having another Candy, except Deana believed Sally would actually stand up to her father. Candy had been under his thumb too long.

Rebecca opened the door as Deana’s hand reached for the knob. “Don’t try and tell me nothing happened, not this time.”

“You jealous?”

“Maybe,” Rebecca said.

Deana pushed past her girlfriend into the foyer. “You told me if I had a chance I should go for it?” She shrugged. “So I did.”

“But you can’t keep it to yourself.”

“What makes you think I wouldn’t tell you about it?” Deana asked.

“Well?”

Deana waited until she knew Rebecca was about to lose it. “Reb, that woman has the longest tongue you can imagine. I swear.” That part was true, and still very much on Deana’s mind. “Oh, my god, she did things to me that I still can’t believe happened. On the kitchen floor. Evan, Candy, and Gloria caught us, and they all watched. Aunt Sally spanked me with a wooden spoon and fucked me so hard I blacked out.”

The excited anticipation fizzled out of Rebecca’s expression. “You bitch. That’s mean. What really happened?”

“Sorry, baby. She really did kiss me just now, and I swear, her tongue doesn’t seem normal. Although, I don’t have a lot of experience with tongues. You gotta try it and let me know if it seems unusually long.”

Rebecca huffed with her fists pressed into her sides. “Why was your aunt kissing you?”

Deana slinked up to Rebecca and got a handful of the girl’s crotch. “Sally was right, you’re on fire.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Sally said you’re a sexy little freak. She wanted to come in and watch us, but something important was going on, so she had to go.”

Rebecca’s hands wrapped around Deana’s neck. “Wanna die?” Deana shook her head. “Then stop teasing and tell me why the hell you were making out with your aunt in front of my house?”

“Good, you are jealous,” Deana said. “I know I’d be if you were kissing your aunt or anybody.”

“Okay, so I love you, I admit it, but I wasn’t kissing anybody and I don’t have an aunt like that,” Rebecca said. “Now tell me what happened.”

“We were talking, and we saw you look out the window. Sally said, this will make her that much more excited to see you, and she laid that kiss on me. I swear that’s the truth. And it worked, didn’t it?”

Rebecca nodded, pulled Deana close and kissed her long and hard. “You don’t mind if I get a little jealous ... sometimes?”

“Baby, every time is fine with me.” Deana dropped Rebecca’s birthday present and wrapped her in a hug. Rebecca grunted and struggled for breath, so Deana reluctantly let her go. “I fuckin’ love you so much.”

“Mm, me too,” Rebecca said. “Now, what’s that?”

“That is your birthday present, sorry it’s late.”

“Huh, I thought Evan was my birthday present and this.” Rebecca held her hand up, proudly displaying the ring.

“He was, but that ring was from him. He didn’t want anyone to get the wrong idea, so we said it was from both of us. This is my gift.” She picked up the bag. “Aunt Sally had to help me out. She ordered it for me.”

“Huh, Aunt Sally?” Rebecca’s head tipped to the side. “Ordered it? What is it? Let me have it.”

Deana cradled it like a running back with the football. “Oh, I’m gonna let you have it, but not here.”

Rebecca bounced with her hands clapping in front of her chest. “Oh, you didn’t?”

Whatever embarrassment she might have suffered asking Sally for help was well worth the excitement Deana saw in Rebecca’s eyes. “I did, but I needed Aunt Sally’s credit card.” Deana didn’t mention that Candy wasn’t allowed to have a credit card, and that’s why her aunt had to order it.

“Wait a second, I thought you didn’t like—”

“I don’t like using your mother’s,” Deana said.

“I’d use Candy’s.”
