Chapter 21
First, a quick THANK YOU to Lazeez and the rest of the folks working on keeping SOL up and running. We greatly appreciate all you do here to keep things going. Not sure what happened that the site was down, but I think I can speak for everyone by saying that no matter what was going on, we are happy that it is resolved. Now, on this the silliness.
A police officer was on his lunch break, sitting on a park bench with his cruiser at the curb, a few feet away. A little girl came up to him and shyly asked “Sir? Are you a policeman?” The officer nodded, smiled and asked why she had asked.
“Mommy always says that if I need help I need to ask a policeman.”
“Your mommy is correct, miss. How can I help you?”
The little girl looked down and slid a foot forward. “Can you please tie my shoe?”
Eddie and Joe were two retired men who would meet for coffee at the local diner and swap ‘fish tailes’ with each other on a regular basis.
Eddie: “So there I was by the pond looking to dig up something for bait and I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in its mouth. Frogs are good bait for bass.”
Joe nodded in agreement. “So what happened?”
Eddie: “Well, knowing the snake can’t bite me with its mouth full, I grabbed it just behind the head, got the frog out and put it in my bait bucket. So now I’m wondering how to deal with the snake and not get bit. I had a flask of Jack Daniels in my tackle box, so I grabbed it and poured a few shots worth into the open mouth. Its eyes rolled back and it went limp. So I was able to toss the snake away and not get bit.”
