On Saturday morning, it was raining, so after wishing their parents a safe trip, Chloe took Fiona to the squash club, to teach her how to play. They walked the short distance to Matt’s apartment and Chloe let them into the building with her key, after doing her signature tune on the entry buzzer to warn Matt. When they reached the top floor, Tina was holding the door open for them and Matt walked towards them, kissing Chloe and Fiona who then introduced their friends.
“This is my friend Evie from my class and Jeff’s friend Ralph who’s captain of the rugby team.”
“That was last year with the under-16s” Ralf corrected. “Now I’m just hoping to get selected for the under-18s.
“Welcome and make yourselves at home” Matt greeted them, shaking Ralph’s hand and giving Evie a peck on the cheek.
“Can I get you girls a drink?” Tina asked. “We have some champagne which I already started, white wine and just about any spirit with coke or sprite.”
The girls all opted for champagne, while Matt just handed the boys a beer each. The girls were all making themselves comfortable in the lounge area while the boys stood, chatting. Matt’s phone rang and as it was his dad, he excused himself and went into the office.
When he returned, Jeff and Ralf had joined the girls and they were chatting enthusiastically about the study group, but where to have it was obviously a problem.
“Mum said we could hold it at our place, but it would be a pain to have to tidy all our stuff away every day” Tina explained.
Matt listened to them a while, thinking. Eventually, he said “How about the guest apartment? We never have used it for guests and Lisa returned her key yesterday as her boyfriend is off to uni, so it would be ideal.”

“Thank you so much! That would be brilliant” Tina added.
The others looked confused and Jeff exclaimed “You have a guest apartment!”
“It’s right across the landing” Matt explained. “Let’s order pizzas, then I’ll show you.”
Once they had ordered, he led them out of the apartment, across the short landing and into the guest apartment.
“It’s a bit smaller than mine and it only has one bedroom” Matt explained. “So you won’t be able to all have a rest or whatever at the same time, unless you’re feeling very friendly. How many of you are in this study group?”
“Just the 4 of us doing A-levels plus Fiona and Evie studying for GCSEs” Chloe replied.
“Well the dining table expands, so that should be OK for 4, then we could move the sofas closer together and make room for a smaller table at the end of the lounge area” Matt said.
“We’ve got an ideal one at home which is always in the way and Dad has been threatening to get rid of for ages” Ralf offered.
“Sounds like you’re all set then!” Matt said. “Why don’t you show everyone the rest of the apartment Tina, while Chloe and I extend the table and move the sofas to be sure there’s enough room.”
While Tina showed the others the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, Chloe helped Matt expend the dining table. As there were 6 dining chairs, they took the spare 2 and arranged them at the end of the lounge, where the small table was to go. They moved the sofas up a bit and there was still enough room without being cramped.
Chloe hugged him and gave him some passionate kisses. “You really are an amazing man, Matt and an even more amazing boyfriend!”
“Maybe because I have two amazing girlfriends! Can I leave you and Tina to sort out everything about the guest apartment. I don’t want to leave myself open to accusations of operating an underage sex venue.”
“Of course” Chloe replied. “You don’t mind if two of them find the studying so tiring they fall asleep?”
“No, but I don’t want to know about it” Matt laughed. “You’d better get them all keys. It’s all wired for fibre, so I’ll get internet access installed next week.”
The others returned from the bedroom with the girls giggling and the boys with big smiles. They then drifted back into the main apartment.
“I don’t know how we’re ever going to thank you” Evie said.
“There’s just one way” Matt said, looking leerily, as if he was about to molest her.
“What’s that?” Evie replied, looking worried.
“I don’t want to see any grades less than A’s”
Evie rushed over, put her arms around his neck and kissed him.
“None of that!” Matt objected, “at least while you’re going out with a big rugby player.”

As it was a bit crowded in the lounge, Fiona, Evie, Jeff and Ralf took their pizzas and drinks to the dining table while the others ate out of the boxes in the lounge opposite.
As soon as they had finished eating, Chloe restarted the movie, dimmed the lights and they made themselves comfortable in the lounge. Matt sat in the middle of the 2-seater sofa with Chloe and Tina either side of him while Jeff, Ralf and their girls snuggled up on the 3-seater sofa.

Jeff got busy on his phone, texting his parents to say that the party at Matt’s was probably going to continue until the early hours and so that, rather than wake his parents when he returned home, he had accepted Matt’s kind offer to stay the night. He got an immediate reply, telling him not to get Fiona pregnant.
Chloe took the guest apartment key off the hook by the door and handed it to Jeff. “Have a goodnight and be good to my little sister!”
“Thanks, Chloe, I will. Goodnight and thanks for a fun evening, Matt.”
Fiona said “goodnight”, grabbed Jeff’s hand and led him next door, giggling in anticipation as Tina and Matt also wished them goodnight.
As soon as Fiona and Jeff had entered the guest apartment and closed the door, she kissed him and pulled up his polo shirt to take it off.
