Chapter 36: Who Saved Her...?
She looked at the family photo on the phone’s cover with a complicated expression.
Jerry’s bright and happy smile inside captivated her gaze.
It brought back a series of memories for her.
When Jerry, who had been missing for many years, was found, the whole family was overjoyed. The family felt even more proud when they learned that Jerry had become the chairman of a multi-billion dollar group.
Only Jacob shed tears on the side.
When his parents asked him why he was unhappy, Jacob explained that he was only adopted and that once Jerry returned, the love his parents and sisters originally had for him would be transferred to Jerry.
He even had suicidal thoughts and wanted to run away from home. The eldest sister sighed. They were all very worried at the time and assured Jacob that he was the family’s most beloved younger brother.
So after Jerry returned to the Miller Family, even though he gave them countless amounts of money and power, everyone deliberately targeted and distanced themselves from him.
The reason was that they were worried Jacob might do something rash and run away from home.
But later, the targeting and alienation of Jerry took a different turn.
Because his family all felt that Jerry must have impure intentions and ruthless methods to rise from an orphan to the head of a multi-billion dollar conglomerate.
In addition to the bad things Jerry did and his deliberate targeting of Jacob, the family members not only deliberately distanced themselves from and targeted Jerry, but also loathed and cursed him.
Ena looked at the photo with complicated emotions; she hadn’t thought much of it at first. It wasn’t until Jerry’s ordeal befell her that she truly understood. Only then did she realize that the Miller Family had indeed spoiled Jacob too much.
They spoiled him so much that they even abandoned her(eldest sister) when she was about to go to jail because of a lawsuit.
She gritted her teeth, stood up, and resolutely walked towards the stairs in her high heels, heading towards Jerry’s office.
She figured she couldn’t rely on her family anymore, so she decided to have a serious talk with Jerry.
But as soon as she approached the office, she was stopped by the security guard at the door.
Normally, the chairman’s office doesn’t have security, but because he and his sisters often cause trouble, Jerry specifically asked the three Traffic Light Boys to guard it.
Thinking of this, a trace of sadness flashed in her eyes.
Is Jerry really so heartless towards her family, showing absolutely no regard for family ties?
“Please leave.” Han Dong said coldly.
“Miss Ena, you are no longer an employee of the group. If you dare to cause trouble again, don’t blame the brothers for throwing you out.”
“I need to speak with my brother,” Ena said coldly.
“You don’t have ears, do you?” Han Dong’s expression darkened, and he reached behind his back.
Realizing that this was a company premises and that he didn’t have a machete on him, he sheepishly stopped.
“I’m his sister, you have no right to stop me,” Ena said angrily, still displaying her arrogance.
“But it seems that President Miller doesn’t acknowledge you as his sister.” Loru Pak sneered.
“We can’t just grant access to everyone claiming a familial tie to President Miller.”
“In that case, the three of us brothers are likely to be expelled eventually.”
After saying this, the three brothers burst into laughter. Their eyes were full of mockery.
Ena was furious, but there was nothing she could do.
The security personnel at JM Group are all Jerry’s people, so she wouldn’t dare to act recklessly.
Just then, Rose pushed open the door, glanced at Ena, and calmly said, “President Miller doesn’t want to see you...”
Ena said angrily, “You shameless...” She stopped talking halfway through her sentence.
After all, she dared not offend Jerry now, so she couldn’t offend Rose either.
“Come with me.” Rose left those words and walked towards the conference room next door.
Ena had no choice but to follow her into the meeting room.
Sitting comfortably in a reclining chair, Rose thoughtfully offered her a bottle of coffee with the JM Group logo on it: “We’re not allowed to make tea during work hours, so have some coffee instead.”
Ena didn’t even glance at the coffee, and said coldly, “Rose, don’t think that just because you’re Jerry’s girlfriend you can be arrogant in front of me.”
