Chapter 25: Playing Dumb
Everyone present was stunned by these words. Even the parties involved said that Jerry led people to beat them up.
Tim actually believed Jerry’s nonsense. Anyone with a brain wouldn’t believe that, right?
Ena became agitated: “Director Tim, it’s not like what Jerry said at all. He’s the one who brought people to beat me up.”
“Yes, please don’t misunderstand,” Dan hurriedly said, “We were not threatened.”
The white dog retorted angrily, “You believe all that nonsense he spouts? How did you become the deputy director?”
Tim sneered and stared at the crowd, saying, “So you mean Jerry beat up his sister and brother-in-law, and you outsiders are here to save him?”
“Do you think I’m stupid?”
“White dog, you better have your men kneel down with their hands behind their heads!”
Everyone was even more dumbfounded upon hearing this. Tim wasn’t stupid; he was blatantly biased towards Jerry.
White Dog stared at Tim and said coldly, “So you’re one of Jerry’s men. You’re really something, daring to disrespect me, White Dog.”
“Even Director Mohan has to give me some face in front of me. You, the deputy director, have quite the nerve.”
Seeing that Tim was Jerry’s man, White Dog stopped pretending and directly brought up Director Mohan to pressure him.
After all, a higher-ranking official can have absolute power.
Ena gritted her teeth and looked at Jerry with a sneer: “You’ve really grown up, you’ve even learned to use connections to intimidate me.”
“But you don’t know this, do you? Brother White Dog’s connections in the police station are far stronger than yours.”
“Okay, okay, okay.” The white dog said “okay” three times, looking at Tim with a fierce expression: “I originally wanted to give you some face, but I didn’t expect you to be so shameless. Then don’t blame me for being impolite.”
He dialed a phone number and cried out, “Director Mohan, you must do me justice!”
“I clearly saved someone, but that Deputy Chief Tim Roy from your bureau insists that I assaulted someone and wants to arrest me, the rescuer, and take me to the police station. Is there no law anymore?”
On the phone, Director Mohan’s calm voice came through: “Is that really the case? What did the person involved say?”
Ena hurriedly began to cry and complain.
Director Mohan angrily said, “Tim, I never thought you would be this kind of person. I have repeatedly emphasized that we must enforce the law impartially, but you actually abused your power for personal gain just because the person who injured you is your friend.”
“Bring the person who hit me back right now.”
Upon hearing this, White Dog, Ena, and the others all displayed arrogant expressions.
Tim’s face turned ugly as he looked at Jerry.
Jerry smiled faintly and took the phone: “This is Jerry. I would like to trouble Director Mohan to have someone arrest White Dog and the others.”
Everyone present burst into laughter upon hearing this.
Is Jerry out of his mind?
They even dared to give orders to Director Mohan. The white dog sneered, “Overestimating yourself.”
There was a three-second silence on the other end of the phone: “Tim, bring White Dog and the others to the police station. Don’t worry about Mr. Miller’s men.”
After saying that, the call was disconnected, and a dial tone was heard. The scene erupted in chaos, with everyone staring at Jerry in disbelief. The white dog was even more dumbfounded.
He worked like a slave for Director Mohan, but Director Mohan didn’t give him any face at all.
On the contrary, Jerry had more face in front of him.
Why?
Dan and Ena immediately turned pale.
Tim glared fiercely at Jerry and waved for the police officers to take action.
The white dog glared angrily at Tim: “You dare? Wait till I call Director Mohan.”
After saying that, he dialed the phone, but it was quickly hung up. He was completely dumbfounded.
Seeing this, Tim coldly said, “Cuff all of White Dog’s men and take them away.”
Soon, the white dog and the others were put into police cars.
The white dog glared fiercely at Jerry: “You just wait, I’ll get my revenge sooner or later.”
Although he was taken to the police station, he was released quickly. But today, Jerry made him lose face in front of his underlings.
