Chapter 33: Help Deputy Park get promoted

Dino noticed that the dogs were very enthusiastic and particularly fond of meddling in other people’s business.

Dino smiled and shook his head: “How can I help Director Park?”

Upon hearing his words, the high-ranking official snorted, “Promoting a mere station chief to a full-fledged position is nothing difficult.”

Dino understood its meaning but remained silent.

During this time, White Tiger had been collecting information about Blossom City and even Flower Valley, especially those who kept dogs at home. He had basically figured out the situation of them all. He had mentioned to Dino several times that Dino should learn from his former master and use officials to make a profit, but Dino didn’t dare to listen at all. He was still terrified after what happened with Keshav. He was afraid that Keshav would use his power to investigate him, so he didn’t dare to provoke any other officials.

White Tiger was perceptive enough not to say anything more when he saw that the man wasn’t responding. Later, Old Four Eyes came over and chatted with Black Panther and the others. Dino had often seen dogs huddled together before, and now that he understood dog language, he knew that, just like people, dogs liked to gather and chat, exchanging all sorts of gossip. He was too lazy to care.

When Old Four-Eyed Dog learned about Deputy Park’s situation, he came over to Dino. He offered a suggestion: “Your Majesty, there is another way to help Deputy Park get promoted to director.”

Dino genuinely wanted to help Deputy Park. If it weren’t for Deputy Park, he would have been handcuffed by Officer Tim and taken to the police station, and he would probably have been beaten to a pulp. He was truly grateful. However, he was too afraid to listen to the big shot’s idea. But Old Four Eye’s words made his eyes light up:

“What idea do you have?”

“For Director Park and his colleagues in the public security system, the best way to get promoted is to make meritorious contributions.”

“To perform meritorious service?”

“It’s about catching criminals, solving major cases, and apprehending serious offenders.”

“Solve a major case?” Upon hearing these three words, Dino’s eyes dimmed again:

“Chief Park is the head of the police station. If he can’t solve the case, what help can we offer?”

“Your Majesty, you must say, this is actually a great help,” White Tiger suddenly interjected.

Dino thought it was the same old trick again and didn’t respond. But then he heard White Tiger say, “Just yesterday, I overheard some news that a criminal wanted nationwide has come to Blossom City and is hiding in the mountains around east of Medicine Valley. The local underworld is providing him with cover. He’ll be hiding for a while before he comes out.”

Upon hearing this, Dino exclaimed, “Really?”

“Of course it’s true.” White Tiger nodded.

“That gang leader is a coal tycoon. He keeps dogs. His dog said so. Moreover, the gang leader himself led the way up the mountain, and the dog followed along.”

That’s undeniable. People lie to each other, but dogs don’t lie to each other. Dino was both surprised and delighted, but hesitated and said, “It’s just catching a criminal, He won’t be promoted to director, will he?”

“That’s not the case.” White Tiger shook his head.

“It depends on what kind of criminal it is. If it’s a serious criminal, the deputy director can be promoted to director without any problem. It’s just a director, what’s the big deal?”

It understood the ways of officialdom, but Dino did not. Since it had said so, Dino thought it over and realized this was the only way to help Deputy Park. He was moved and asked White Tigers to look into it further and get things settled.
