Chapter 32: I Love you
The next day, after dropping Lele off at kindergarten, he went to the People’s Hospital. Old Lady Martha said that Dino didn’t need to come, as making money was the priority, so Dino came back first. Maya didn’t return until the afternoon, and Lele had to be picked up by her.
As evening approached, the two were filled with anticipation. It was only a little past eight o’clock when they had already put Lele to sleep. Dino waited in the outer room. When Maya came out, Dino immediately hugged her. Maya’s face was flushed, and she was panting as she said, “Don’t wake Lele up.”
Dino, his breath steaming, said, “No.”
Suddenly, an idea popped into my head: “Sis, how about I carry you up?”
Maya asked, both embarrassed and amused, “Is it like Pigsy carrying his wife?”
“Yes.” Dino smiled.
“I am the luckiest Pigsy.”
Maya chuckled and climbed onto his back. Dino carried her on his back, wrapped his arms around her legs, and said, “Sister, you’re so soft.”
Maya was both shy and happy and asked, “Really? Do you like it?”
“I love it.” Dino nodded.
“I love it so much my heart is about to explode.”
“Nonsense,” Maya said shyly, but her voice was filled with joy.
Upstairs, Dino closed the door, hugged Maya, and said, “Sister, take off your clothes.”
Maya was shy and refused, but when Dino actually undressed, she did not resist. She just looked at Dino and said, “Dino, you have to promise me not to touch me, please.”
Dino knelt on the bed, raised his hand and swore: “Sister, I promise you, I promise I won’t touch you, otherwise may I be struck by lightning, hit by a car, burned to death, or stabbed to death...”
“I don’t want you to make such a heavy vow.” Maya rolled over and sat up, covering his face. Her beautiful, full-moon face turned deathly pale, and tears welled in her eyes.
“Who asked you to make such a heavy vow?”
Seeing that she was really anxious, Dino quickly said, “Sister, don’t worry, I promised you, and I will definitely do it, so I’m not afraid of any oath, no matter how heavy it is.”
“Then you must not make such heavy oaths in the future.”
“Okay.” Dino nodded.
“Dino, you’re such a good person, I love you, I love you to death.” Maya threw herself into his arms, hugged him, kissed him, and the two of them held each other tightly.
It wasn’t until late at night that Maya returned to her room, but her body felt weak. Dino carried her downstairs again and took her to her room. He carried her to the bed, and Maya was terrified, afraid that Lele would wake up.
Fortunately, Lele was sleeping soundly. Dino was still playful and pressed down on Maya, pressing her lips to Maya’s again. Maya didn’t dare to make a sound. When he let go, she punched him with a shy and angry expression.
Dino chuckled silently, which amused Maya, who whispered, “He looks like a weasel.”
Dino laughed and whispered, “The weasel stole a chicken and is happy.”
Maya laughed until her body trembled.
For the next few days, it was the same. Dino stopped going to the city and took on some odd jobs during the day. In the afternoon, Maya would come back, pick up Lele, have dinner early, put Lele to sleep early, and then the two of them would go upstairs and cling to each other tightly, wishing they could melt into one.
Old Lady Martha wasn’t home, so she didn’t give Dino a hard time. And these past few days, Monica hadn’t contacted Dino either. Dino had almost forgotten about her. He could fall asleep as soon as he closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he felt that the world was full of sunshine, which made him extremely happy.
However, this happy period did not last long. About seven or eight days later, Dino suddenly received a call from Monica that afternoon, asking him to wait for him under the Maple Leaf Bridge at 9 p.m. sharp.
Milan’s hospitalization made Dino realize Monica’s power even more. Now, he was both angry and afraid of Monica, but he really didn’t dare to refuse her.
Furthermore, Monica had helped with Milan’s matter, and he felt indebted to her, so he was embarrassed to refuse her.
It just so happened that Maya had her period that day. She was a traditional woman and was afraid that this would taint Dino’s body and bring him bad luck, so she wouldn’t let Dino touch her. She also went to bed early that night and didn’t go upstairs with Dino, which gave Dino a chance to sneak out.
When Dino arrived at the Maple Leaf Bridge, a car pulled up and stopped in front of him. The window rolled down halfway, and sure enough, it was Monica, wearing sunglasses. She said to Dino, “Get in.”
Dino got into the car, sitting in the front seat as usual.Monica chuckled, and Dino blushed. However, he was genuinely afraid of Monica and didn’t dare to sit in the front seat.
Upon reaching the dam, Monica lowered the seat, and this time, Dino realized he had lifted his foot.
