Chapter 31: Dino Knew Mayor DC
Dino glanced at Maya, still feeling a little uneasy. If Maya knew about his affair with Monica, even ifMonica raped him, she would still be unhappy. Besides, she wouldn’t believe it, would she? A mayor raping a small farmer like him—no one would believe that.
“It’s not that we know each other, but a while ago, her dog broke its leg, and I treated it. It’s not fully healed yet, and she gave me her number. Actually, she gave me her phone number too. She contacts me when her dog needs help, so I know her number.”
He then added, “I heard there were wards available, so I gave it a try, but I didn’t expect it to work out.”
“So you’ve treated her dog before, huh? I knew it.” Loki scoffed, his tone tinged with disdain.
Old Lady Martha was a little disappointed, but her eyes lit up again as she looked at Dino and said, “Dino, Mayor DC is quite easy to talk to. You should make good friends with her; you might be able to rely on her in the future.”
“Ha.” Loki laughed from the side, “She’s a beautiful mayor, we should make friends with her, haha, haha.”
Dino blushed with laughter, while Old Lady Martha glared at him angrily. But thinking about it, she felt a little cold-hearted.
After settling into the hospital, Loki went back home, while Old Lady Martha stayed behind to take care of him. Dino and Maya were fine, and although the cadre ward was spacious, the two of them couldn’t possibly stay there all the time, especially since Lele was still in kindergarten. They returned home in the afternoon.
In the evening, after dinner, they went to rest in the open space. Lele played with Black Panther and White Tiger on the side, while Maya quietly took Dino’s hand and looked at him gently. Dino didn’t say anything, just smiled foolishly. Later, Maya chuckled and said, “Silly smile.”
Dino chuckled and said, “Sis, when I see you, I really just stand there like a fool.”
Maya blushed slightly and scolded, “Don’t talk nonsense.”
She looked incredibly alluring. Dino reached out to hug her, and Maya struggled slightly, saying, “Lele saw it.”
However, she still gave in to him, sat on his lap, hooked one arm around his neck, and buried her head in his ear, saying, “It’s all thanks to your idea today, otherwise Dad would still be in the corridor getting an IV drip.”
“It’s just luck, I guess.” Dino had a lot to say, but he didn’t dare to say it. He was afraid that Maya wouldn’t believe him, and if it were him, he wouldn’t believe it either.
When the topic of luck came up, Maya’s eyes lit up, and she said, “Dino, you are a lucky person.”
Dino chuckled: “I am just a lucky guy.”
Maya’s body was limp, her face right in front of him. He couldn’t help but tease her, “Sister, do you know what ‘Dino’ means?”
Maya immediately understood, her pretty face turning bright red. She slapped him and said, “Don’t talk nonsense.”
Dino felt a shiver run through his body from her beating, his hand tightened, and he kissed Maya’s lips.
His hand was acting strangely, and Maya panicked, pressing his hand down hard, saying, “Dino, no, Lele will see.”
Seeing that Dino was unwilling to take his hand, she blushed and said, “After I put Lele to sleep, I will come to your room.”
“You were just lying to me last time,” Dino said, not believing him.
Maya chuckled, blushing as she said, “Last time it was Mom who was there.”
Dino believed him. Just then, Lele ran over, and Maya quickly stood up, picked up Lele, and went into the house.
