Chapter 1
My story started when I was ten years old. I’m Chad Chambers, and I am 4’1” tall and weigh about 50 lbs. I am the only child of John and Mary Chambers. My dad is 5’8” tall and is 36 years old, and my mom is 5’6” and 34 years old. So, it doesn’t look good to me as far as height is concerned. I have been bullied at school since kindergarten, and my mom finally had enough and enrolled me in karate classes when I was six. It has helped, but they seem more like a group or gang than individuals.
Dad is an only child, and his parents died in an auto accident while he was in college. He is a CPA with a local firm. Mom is a legal secretary with three older sisters and one younger brother. Grandpa and Grandma moved to Arizona, and I think to get away from the grandkids. They never send presents or call, so that is that. Aunt Carol has three girls, 20, 18, and 17 years old, and they think their god’s gift to man. If you looked up stuck-up bitches, Aunt Carol and her girls would be pictured.
Next is Aunt Sandy, who has two girls, ages 18 and 16. The last aunt is Aunt Vi, who has two girls, ages 17 and 16. Then comes Uncle Charley, and no one pays attention to him. He comes to all the family gatherings but fades into the woodwork. Everyone thinks he’s homeless by how he dresses, but I know better. And that is where my story starts.
Easter Sunday is a day I hate. Going to church with Mom’s clan is a total bitch fest on who outdoes the other, and often comes to fights. It was our turn to host the lunch, and everyone was arguing or hiding in the kitchen. Dad and my uncles were outside on the patio, away from the disaster that left Uncle Charley and me in the living room watching the shit show.
Chad watched him and could tell he was brilliant and hiding something, but I couldn’t figure out what. He would look at me and grin as we both wanted out of this mess, but couldn’t leave. Finally, lunch was ready, and once the food was out, everyone got their food and returned to their areas. The men went outside on the patio, the women were in the kitchen, and the girls were in the living room. Uncle Charley and I were hiding in the woodwork.
Chad saw Uncle Charley sneak out after lunch and followed him for 15 blocks to a charming house. He opened the door with a key and went inside, so I went around the backyard to see if I could see inside the home. Uncle Charley came out the back door and entered a workshop-type building in the rear, so I snuck up, looked in the window, and watched. He was talking to himself, saying I know the formula is correct, but it’s probably too late for me as he injected himself with the serum, saying I can always hope. Then the front doorbell rang, and Uncle Charley left the workshop door open to answer the doorbell. Chad went inside, got a syringe, and did as he did, drawing it out of the tube and pushing the air out, and injected myself while reading his notes. I heard a loud crash and Uncle Charley pleading with someone not to hurt him.
Chad grabbed all the serum, syringes, and his notes, put them in his backpack, and hid by the workshop’s rear door. Three large men in suits threw Uncle Charley inside the shop and followed, asking where the formula was and hitting Uncle Charley again. Uncle Charley saw me hiding by the rear exit door and said,” I’ll give it to you.” He looked at me, and I knew it was time to leave. Chad quietly left, and then the building blew up. He was on the side of the house when the workshop exploded, then went back to look, then ran home.
Out of breath, Chad put the serum in the bottom drawer of the garage refrigerator so no one could see it. Chad knew he had to find a permanent place to hide it. When he went inside, it was quiet, and he looked around, but no one was home. Then Chad realized everyone had gone back to church. Thankfully, he missed it, made two sandwiches and a large glass of milk, then went to bed and fell asleep.
Chad could hear Mom say he was in bed outside his bedroom, and she wondered where he had gone. His dad said Chad probably ran away from his cousins. Dad said I swear, Mary, this thing we do every year wears me out. Your sister’s kids are out of control, and poor Chad has nowhere to go. He probably went for a walk to escape all the bitchin’ going on. Mom says it’s not that bad, and Dad says that’s why you hide in the kitchen, and the men are outside laughing. They finally left, and Chad wondered why he was so hungry and fell back asleep.
When Chad woke up, his whole body hurt, and he had just reached the bathroom. Then all hell broke loose when he sat on the commode. Chad opened a window to get the smell out, took a long, hot shower, and felt good. Chad finally got out to dress for school and realized his pants were too short, but put them on anyway. He entered the kitchen, ate three bowls of cereal, grabbed his bag, and walked to school. Chad almost got through the gate before being jumped by six student bullies.
A teacher pulled them off, sent them to the office, and helped Chad to the nurse. The nurse looked at the cuts and said to call my parents. He needs stitches and X-rays right away. The principal walked into the nurse’s office and suspended me for fighting while lying on the treatment bed. The office called my Mom. When she arrived, she called an ambulance, and the police then went to see the principal.
The police arrived in the office, and they arrested the six students for assault and battery of a student and the principal for covering it up. The police took statements and finally left. Chad had 12 stitches to close the wounds, and x-rays were taken; then he was released. Mom had her boss file restraining orders against the six students and the principal. He also sent a certified letter to the school board, notifying them of a lawsuit against the school district and board for damages. Chad returned to school the next day and had no more problems for the rest of the week. Mom took him shopping for new jeans on the weekend, and he could resume karate practice after a week of layoff.
Everything seemed settled down until the letter from Jacob Myers, a lawyer, arrived. Uncle Charley died, and Mom and Chad were requested to attend the reading of his will on Monday at 4 p.m. Chad had already read his uncle’s notes, and they were instructions to receive injections every three months for ten shots. Chad reread the notes, and his uncle referenced a benefit of every other month for two years, for 12 injections. Chad had 12 doses, so he chose that treatment plan and started a diary of his starting weight, height, exercises, and how many he did. He included the effects after each dose, like his growth spurt. Chad also took an online IQ test and logged the results for a baseline. He didn’t know if it was accurate, but it said 165, so he entered that.
Monday finally arrived, and his mom picked him up from school and drove to Jacob Myers’ law office. His aunts wanted to know why Chad was invited and not their kids, but Mr. Myers said it was Uncle Charley’s request. The lawyer began reading the will, and each sister received $50k, which threw them for a loop. They thought he was homeless and raced out of the lawyer’s office to cash the check. Chad’s mom walked out, and Chad started to follow, but Mr. Myers handed him a card, told him to call when no one was around, and returned to his office.
When they got home, his dad and mom acted like they had won the lottery. Chad silently laughed at his uncle’s clever diversion of giving them that amount so they wouldn’t look further. He knew his Uncle Charley had a lot more money, but what happened to it was the question. Chad did his homework, ate dinner, had seconds, and almost went for another helping but resisted. His mom was already complaining about his increased appetite, so he would have to figure something out. Getting tired, he went to bed.
Chad woke up and saw it was 5 a.m., so he did his pushups, setups, and pull-ups, then ran until he was tired. Chad returned home, showered, dressed for school, and ate breakfast. He had figured out a way to eat at home and then buy breakfast at school to ease the burden on his parents. The way the lunch program worked, he could return for seconds after sweet-talking the cafeteria workers. The excess food had to be thrown out anyway, so they didn’t mind.
During his study period, Chad called Mr. Myers, Uncle Charley’s attorney, and said he would get a cab to his office after school. When Chad arrived, the attorney showed him to his office and read the rest of the will. Chad was floored when Mr. Myers handed him an atm and a credit card in his name. Mr. Myers explained that he would receive $2000 in the account monthly if his grades stayed at a 4.0 average. If it dips below 3.5, he gets half that amount. Anything below a 3.0 grade average, he would receive nothing.
His uncle Charley wanted him to continue his research if possible. The credit card is for pre-approved purchases. Mr. Myers said to call him if he needs a computer, and I will say yes or no. School, education, or fitness expenses will always be approved, ok? Chad said yes, then asked how to hide this from my parents. Mr. Myers said your uncle thought about that, and we made up some forms for gifted students to fill out to explain a computer or other major purchase.
He closed by saying that if I need help, call him immediately. Uncle Charley’s trust will pay him a yearly retainer so you can have legal assistance. He closed by saying that deposits will increase as you get older, and that when you reach 25 years old, we will have another meeting. That was it. Chad shook Mr. Myers’ hand goodbye and left dazed. Chad knew his cousins would kill him if they found out what Uncle Charley gave him. Everyone would, including his parents, so he needed to be very careful from now on, especially at home. He wondered what had happened to his grandparents that made them abandon their kids.
Two months had passed, and it was time for the second injection. Chad injected the serum and put it in his log. He measured his height, weight, exercises, and dick size. Yes, it’s growing too. Chad had grown 4” in height and gained 20 lbs. in two months, and it’s all muscle. He was too young to lift weights, so he followed his routine. My school called today and asked for a parent-teacher conference. Chad tells his mom because she’s the one who will go. She called, and it is set for 4 p.m. tomorrow.
Chad was a bookworm and spent his free time in the school or the public library. His reading speed, comprehension, and memory improved after the injections. Chad studied everything from advanced math to English literature. It wasn’t uncommon for him to read three or four books at night after dinner. So, he wasn’t surprised about the parent-teacher conference, but he wouldn’t tell his parents.
Mom asked him why the school wanted a conference, and Chad said he had no idea. He told her, “My grades are excellent, so who knows?” The next day after class, Chad stayed and did homework until his mom arrived. We were ushered into the office conference room, and the vice principal, guidance counselor, and three teachers were there. The vice principal said we are happy with Chad’s progress this year. As a group, we want to advance Chad to the next grade this year.
The vice principal said Chad is so far above other students that it hurts the class and his educational progress to stay at this level. We discussed it and would like to test him out of the fifth grade and place him in the sixth grade. Before we get ahead of ourselves, the university has a testing lab that can evaluate Chad and provide recommendations on how to proceed. With that report, we can sit down and review our options together. Is that ok with you, Mrs. Chambers? Mom just said yes, so it’s on.
The vice principal said Chad’s testing would start tomorrow and that an adult would always be with him. The testing could take 2 or 3 days, depending on their busy schedule. He left us shocked as we left the conference in a daze. On the way home, Mom asked if I felt the classes were too easy. Chad said it’s always been easy for me and not a challenge. We ate dinner, and Mom and Dad argued about who gave me the brains, so when Chad finished eating, he said Maybe it skipped a generation and left. Dad was busting up laughing, and Mom was pissed, yelling I’m going to get you for that.
The next day, Chad was in a car with a teacher’s aide on the way to the university. Her name is Kim, and he asked what he should call her: Ms. Kim, Kim, sugar lips, or maybe just honey. She laughed so hard we had to pull over for a few minutes, and then she said Kim would be fine. We arrived at the university, and testing began.
Chad had 15-minute breaks and a one-hour lunch. The testing lasted until 4 p.m., and then they drove home. The first day wasn’t bad, so let’s see what tomorrow brings. Over dinner, Mom asked how the testing went, and Chad said it was long, but the breaks and an hour for lunch made it tolerable. At least there was no arguing about who gave me the brains as he headed to bed.
The second day was intense, as they gave me harder tests. Then we shifted and did the same on each subject until the end of the day, and he fell asleep on the way home.
On the third day, he took three long tests, and he finished at two, so they headed home early. Chad asked when they would have the results, and Kim said the school should have them tomorrow. They said goodbye. Chad told his mom the results should be ready tomorrow, so they could call her. He ate his double serving for dinner and went to sleep.
Waking up in the morning, Chad exercised, ran, walked home, showered, ate breakfast, and headed to school. He was called into the office, and they called his Mom, who said 4 p.m. was the earliest she could meet. Chad spent the day in the library reading until his Mom showed up. The same group gathered and said that Chad has tested out as a first-year college student, so schooling here or in high school is a waste of time.
They gave Chad the SAT and ACT, and he scored in the top 1%. The last test he took was an IQ test, and it rated him at 185. The results are screwed up because these tests are designed for someone 6 to 7 years older. Factoring that in, it’s over 200. Here’s what the university recommends you do. Enroll Chad in the university and have him stay in a university apartment with two female graduate students. So, he’s on campus full-time to concentrate on his studies and has adult supervision and assistance.
He will have his own room and support while going to school. His roommates will be two female graduate students who also get a perk because these apartments are highly sought after. What are your thoughts, Mrs. Chambers? Mom said she liked the idea of graduate student supervision. What do you think, Chad? He says it sounds good, but I want my parents to meet the girls so we don’t have personality clashes. Mom seconded the idea, which was a go, so he was through with this school.
