Chapter 6

Wyatt went to the basement gym early Wednesday morning to practice martial arts, then showered, and his tattoos illuminated as usual. He dressed, went to the kitchen, and Maria and Mom were there. He bowed and said Madam Governor, how may I kiss your ass today and they laughed. Mom told him to sit, and while they ate, she said I have to go to the library and do some research so that you can come with me.

After breakfast, they drove to the library, and Mom said she needed to research the governor’s duties and responsibilities. I’m sure Jim will give me advice, but I want to know what’s bullshit and what’s not. The last thing I want to do is accept a job with no power to do anything and then get blamed for everything that goes wrong. Upon arrival, Mom went her way, and Wyatt went to the psychology section.

He saw the books on hypnosis and selected three. The more he read, the interested he became. Keywords for putting someone under, and the susceptibility of a person in deep REM sleep, piqued his interest. Then Wyatt wondered if he could bring someone out of deep sleep using the techniques of hypnosis. He would have to experiment on the next person he put into deep sleep by pressure point.

Mom was ready to leave when he finished, and they headed home. Wyatt asked if she had found what she was looking for, and Mom said yes. Now I have to get a feel for what influence the backers of my candidacy want in return. The further I get into this, the more I question if it’s worth it. Wyatt told Mom not to forget that the people supporting you will also be supporting Jim for the Senate. So, use that as leverage because he may not get appointed otherwise, and Mom said you’re right.

When they arrived home, Maria had lunch ready, and while eating, the CSP (Colorado State Patrol) called and told Mom that Sheriff Dan Corbin and his deputies bailed out this morning. Be aware that they have no law enforcement authority, as they are suspended pending trial. Mom thanked them for the update and hung up. She told Wyatt to expect visitors because Dan won’t let this go unanswered. She also said to tell Hank so he’s prepared.

After lunch, Wyatt went to the stables, informed Hank, and then went to the barn. He drove a mule to the cave, stripped, got into the hot springs, and passed out. Wyatt had the same dream/vision of being in a strange, sterile environment with metal treatment beds and being worked on. When he woke up, he was floating in the pool and got out feeling rejuvenated but sore all over. Wyatt noticed small incisions all over his body, including his cock. The back of his head was aching, and he had a mild headache.

Once dry, he dressed, returned to the barn, parked the mule, and went to his room. He wondered what had happened to him, and it couldn’t have been a dream with marks on his body. Wyatt gave up worrying about it and resumed programming his 500-bit encryption program. He was almost done when Mom called him to dinner, so he saved his work and went to the kitchen.

While they ate, Mom said she had a meeting at the governor’s mansion with supporters for Friday at 10 a.m. Wyatt said Good luck, and bring an overnight bag. Mom asked why, and he said You will want to shower afterwards and they laughed. She said That’s why you’re going with me, and Wyatt said Oh no, that’s not in my contract and they laughed again. Mom said she needed him to keep from getting railroaded into something. Wyatt said Alright, but you owe me a few favors, and Mom chuckled. They finished dinner, said goodnight, and went to bed.

Wyatt went running early Thursday morning and, after four miles, returned home, showered, dressed, and went to the kitchen. Mom and Maria were eating breakfast, and he joined them. Wyatt asked if she was going to bring alcohol wipes with her to the governor’s mansion. Maria asked why she would need to bring them, and he said to clean her hands after shaking the slimy bastard’s hands. Everyone laughed, and Mom said that wasn’t a bad idea.

After breakfast, Wyatt went to the stables, saddled Smokey, and let Sandy out of her stall. They took off for their ride and spent more time today. Returning to the stables, Wyatt cared for the horses and saw a truck delivering his F-150 King Ranch 4x4. The driver had Mom sign the paperwork, and they checked it out. Mom and Maria said it was nice, and Wyatt said Don’t get any ideas, this isn’t a girl’s truck and they laughed.

They went to the kitchen and ate lunch, then Wyatt took the truck for a test drive with Mom. She asked how he learned to drive, and Wyatt said he learned by watching you, then forgot most of it. They laughed, and he said You need to be careful tomorrow. It could be a Coincidence, but Dad is being admitted to a psychiatric hospital, and the Senate seat was opened for Jim. Mom said Oh my god, do you think it was preplanned?

Wyatt said he wasn’t sure, but we need to get everyone’s names there. Then check if any of them have an interest in Orchard Extended Care and Rehabilitation or Wesco Psychiatric Care Facility. Also, Jim knew about Dad’s issues at our luncheon, so be careful tomorrow. We’ll gather as much information as possible. Mom said he was right, it was suspicious.

Wyatt said there’s a bright side. If you get elected governor, and we find out Dad’s commitment was preplanned, you’re under no obligation to appoint Jim White to his senate seat. Mom said you’re devious but right, and they laughed. They returned to the ranch, and he went to his room. Wyatt continued programming his 500-bit encryption program and finished it as Mom called him to dinner.

While they ate, Mom said We’ll leave early and pick up a small pocket recorder. That way, we can review it later to see if we missed anything said during the meeting. Wyatt agreed and said that if this was preplanned, we must be careful to play along. If they suspect we are aware of their plan or are suspicious, it won’t be good. Mom agreed, and they finished dinner, said goodnight, and went to bed.

Early Friday morning, Wyatt was in the basement gym practicing martial arts on the boxing bags. When he finished, Wyatt returned to his room, showered, dressed in a suit, and went to the kitchen. Mom arrived, and they ate a quick breakfast, then headed to Denver. After a quick stop at an electronics store, they arrived at the governor’s mansion.

Governor White welcomed them and introduced Gerald Black, Karl Eden, Will DeWald, Tom Howell, and David St. John. We sat in the formal living room, and Wyatt let Mom converse with them while reading their minds. He knew Gerald Black was behind Dad’s commitment, and they were all in on it. Gerald owned Wesco Psychiatric Care and Extended Care Facilities. Governor White helped him get a state contract for psychiatric care.

Mr. Black asked Wyatt what he did, and Wyatt said he was a senior advisor for Mrs. James, crunching numbers and crushing nuts. Mom coughed, and Mr. Black asked what he meant by crushing nuts, and Governor White started laughing, then the rest joined in. They discussed Mom’s candidacy and felt she was the perfect candidate for the party for governor. Jim assured Mom that with their backing, she would win, and Mom accepted.

Lunch was served in the informal dining room, and strategy was discussed. Jim said you’ll have to put together a campaign staff, and I’ll help with that. Then there will be donor meetings, luncheons, and dinners. Once a firm backing is in place, you’ll formally announce your candidacy for governor. Jim suggested Mom lease a condo or an upscale apartment with security because she would be staying overnight frequently. They finished after 3 p.m., shook hands goodbye, and headed home.

On the way, Wyatt said he needed a long, hot shower, and they laughed. Mom asked Wyatt if he thought they were involved in Dad’s commitment, and he said yes without a doubt. She said I got that feeling too and I want them to pay if we can prove it. Wyatt agreed and said we’ll start researching tomorrow, and the university library would be a good place to start. They’ll have the most current information, and it won’t raise any red flags doing it there, and Mom agreed.

Governor Jim White poured drinks for the group and asked what they thought of their meeting. Gerald said he thought it went well, but didn’t like Jenni’s son Wyatt. That kid’s a smart ass and isn’t respectful. Jim laughed and said Wyatt is smarter than all of us, so underestimating him would be a mistake. And don’t get any ideas about getting blackmail material on Jenni to ensure her cooperation, as we’ve done in the past. He put his Dad in the hospital for assaulting his Mom and took down Sheriff Dan Corbin.

If he even suspects one of us of hurting his Mom, everyone will pay dearly. We’ve come too far to screw it up by getting reckless and stupid. We got away with committing her husband, William. Don’t push our luck. Tom Howell said Wyatt didn’t say much and observed us. Will DeWald agreed and said it was creepy. Jim said Wyatt was reading us to see if we had ulterior motives. Jenni will pull out if he suspects anything, so let’s play it straight, and we’ll all get rewarded.

By the time they arrived home, it was dinner time. Mom put the food in the oven, and they changed into comfortable clothes. While they ate, Mom said We’ll leave for the university after breakfast tomorrow and hopefully be home after lunch. Wyatt said the library should have the information categorized for easy access. They finished dinner, said goodnight, and went to bed.

At 1 a.m., Wyatt woke up, sensed danger, dressed, and went to the front gate. There was an SUV parked 25 yards away with Sheriff Dan Corbin and his two deputies, Ed and Bill, inside. He teleported behind the SUV and read their minds. They were planning to break into the house, tie up Mom, and kidnap him. The plan was to hold him for ransom and kill him when the ransom was paid. The time came, and they put on their ski masks and gloves, exited the SUV, and walked to the gate.

Wyatt knocked them out and then put them into a deep sleep by pressure point. He tried the hypnosis command he read in the book and instructed them to forget Wyatt and Jenni Armstrong. Wyatt told them if they heard, read, or thought of Wyatt or Jenni, they would have to hump a tree until climax. His last command was that you’ll wake up at the count of five refreshed. Wyatt counted to five, teleported to the other side of the gate, hid, and watched.

They woke up, and Dan asked what had happened, and Ed said they were going to kidnap Wyatt Anderson. They all groaned, ran to the nearest tree, and began humping it. When they climaxed, Bill said,” Let’s get the hell out of here and they all agreed.” Wyatt laughed that the hypnosis worked, returned to bed, and fell asleep.

After breakfast, Mom and Wyatt went to the town’s Colorado University extension campus and visited the library. They found information on all the men, including Governor White. Gerald Black owned a Pharmaceutical company, Wesco Psychiatric Care, and Extended Care Facilities, along with other businesses. Governor White helped him get a state contract for psychiatric care. Karl Eden and Will DeWald were in commercial and residential real estate, Tom Howell was in banking, and David St. John owned a successful stock brokerage and investment firm.

There were almost a hundred newspaper articles about them, and they sat on various corporate boards together. Wyatt found out they all went to Colorado University and were members of the sorority, but graduated in different years. They found out enough information to confirm their belief that they were involved in Dad’s commitment. On the way home, Mom asked what they should do about Dad’s situation. We can’t let them keep him drugged up and incoherent.

Wyatt said he agreed, but we have to be careful, so we’re not tied to any action. Maybe when the patent arrives, we can fly to DC and file it in person. That would ensure it’s registered and, at the same time, make an anonymous call to the FBI. We can tell them that US Senator William Armstrong is being held in a state-sponsored mental facility against his will. The call will be from DC, so it isn’t connected to us. But we can’t fly commercial or register in a hotel, or there will be records that we were in DC.

Mom said she liked the plan and would arrange for a charter flight under the trust name, and we will use taxis and stay in a motel, paying cash if necessary. It would be a short trip, so no one should miss us. When they arrived home, Mom said not to discuss this in front of Maria, and Wyatt agreed. They ate a late lunch, then Martha left for the weekend.

After lunch, Wyatt drove the mule to the cave, stripped, got into the hot springs, sat down, and passed out. When he awoke, Wyatt was floating in the pool and got out feeling refreshed. He was glad there were no marks or a headache and dressed, then returned to the barn. He parked the mule, went to his room, and turned on the computer. Wyatt began programming tracking and attack bots for his firewall.

If an attempted hack were made to his computer, the bots would track the hacker and embed in their computer. Then they would upload the computer files to his cloud account, and the firewall would notify him of the attempted hack. He finished the bot programming, but didn’t have time to install it into the firewall because Mom called him to dinner.

While they ate, Mom said she was going to Denver tomorrow morning. She was going to get a newspaper and check out available apartments and townhomes. Mom said she would be back for dinner, so you’re on your own for lunch. They finished dinner, said goodnight, and went to bed.
