Chapter 25: The Villain’s Bold Stand

Of course, he knew the Imperial Green was real.

David had opened it right in front of him at the stone workshop. How could it be fake?

But he was the villain, and a villain had to put on a show.

The moment he said that, everyone around him burst out laughing.

“Young Master Grey, are you really ignorant or just pretending? That box holding the Imperial Green is from the Porter family’s stone workshop. Any jadeite inside one of those boxes is guaranteed by the Porter family. There’s no way it could be fake.”

“Exactly. If it’s certified by the Porter family, it’s definitely genuine.”

“Looks like Young Master Grey’s Ocean Star has been overshadowed. He’s upset and trying to discredit this gentleman.”

“Well, it’s not surprising. After all, the two of them were childhood sweethearts. There’s real affection there. Young Master Grey used his family background to force the goddess White into an engagement. He may have her body, but not her heart. Of course he’d break down under pressure.”

“Goddess White must be torn right now. If she accepts the Imperial Green, it’s a slap in Young Master Grey’s face. But if she doesn’t, she might regret it for the rest of her life.”

Hearing those words, Lucas was screaming in his heart. Yes! This was the plot. This was satisfying.

This was how it should be.

The AI crowd around them was finally doing what they were supposed to. They were backing up the male lead and humiliating the villain, helping the protagonist’s moment of triumph reach its peak.

In the past, they kept going against the script. Instead of praising the protagonist, they propped up him instead, to the point where he couldn’t even get his lines out properly.

Today, he could finally relax and fully embrace the role of the villain. He had a firm grip on the plot.

With that thought, he immediately let out a sinister grin.

“David, you’ve got some nerve showing up and ruining my wife’s birthday party. Are you looking to die?”

“Guards!”

He gave the order, but no one in the crowd moved.

Lucas froze for a second before realizing this wasn’t a Grey family venue. It was Rose’s birthday banquet. The White family’s people wouldn’t take orders from him.

Perfect.

He took a deep breath and purposely made a flustered, embarrassed face before pointing directly at David.

“Fine. I’ll handle you myself today. If I don’t beat you into a cripple, I’ll take your name as my own.”

As he shouted, he suddenly lunged forward and threw a punch at David.

David had been waiting for this moment.

His desire to kill Lucas had already reached its peak. Finally, the opportunity had arrived.

Without hesitation, he tossed the brocade box into his subordinate’s arms and let out a cold laugh. He dodged the punch and countered by reaching for Lucas’s arm.

He planned to disable one of Lucas’s arms, take away his ability to fight back, and then torment him thoroughly.

But just when he thought he had it in the bag and was about to land his Thunderclap Claw on Lucas’s right arm, Lucas suddenly used his Legendary Light-Footwork Technique. With lightning-fast footwork, he slipped behind David and kicked him squarely in the butt.

David had completely underestimated him. He’d only used about twenty percent of his strength and had no guard up at all.

The kick landed perfectly.

He staggered forward and nearly fell.

Everyone in the crowd stared in shock.

“Holy crap. Young Master Grey knows martial arts?”

“No way. I thought he was a weakling.”

“Exactly. Didn’t he drop out halfway through the 400-meter run at last year’s Business Association Games?”

Even Rose and Yelena were stunned.

He actually dodged David’s attack and even won the first round?

Losing the first round was one thing, but to lose from a kick in the butt? Rage surged through David as he clenched his fists. His entire body trembled, and an overwhelming murderous aura erupted from him.

Lucas froze.

What the hell? Wasn’t this a bit much?

It was just a kick, yet he looked like his whole family had been murdered. This was next-level overreacting.

He gulped hard and braced himself. A tough fight was coming. David had wanted to kill him for a long time. He had to make sure David could land hits, but not go too far. After all, there were still two major scenes ahead in the plot, and he needed to survive until they were finished.

Taking a deep breath, Lucas slowly raised his palm and began recalling the Eight Trigram Dragon Palm in his mind. He kept his eyes locked on David.

David curled his lips into a cold smirk. Before Lucas could react, he sprang forward and charged at him.

“Stop!”

Just as Lucas held his breath and prepared to take the punch, a woman’s voice suddenly rang out at the entrance.

Three throwing knives sliced through the air, heading straight for David’s chest.

Startled, David quickly pulled back his fist, stepped away, and swept his arm to deflect them with a burst of force.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

The three knives embedded themselves into a nearby pillar.

It was a plaster pillar.

Everyone was so stunned they couldn’t react. Instinctively, they turned to the door.

Two stunning women had just walked in side by side.

One wore a tank top and long jeans. Her thick black hair was tied in a high ponytail, and a short-blade-like accessory hung at her waist.

The other wore a long qipao and high heels, a white silk shawl draped over her shoulders. Her long hair was pinned up with a modern-style hairpin.

One was a sporty beauty. The other, a graceful and mature enchantress.

The moment they entered, they captivated the entire room.

Even David widened his eyes at the sight of them and, for a moment, forgot about Lucas completely.

Only Lucas closed his eyes, wishing he could kick both of them right out of the hotel.

Why did they have to show up and cause trouble now of all times?

As it turned out, the two newcomers were Sylvia and Sasha, whom he’d seen just days earlier.

“They’re gorgeous. Who are they? Their looks rival even Goddess White and Goddess Miller.”

“That one looks like Miss Morgan. I heard she just returned from abroad and drove the manager of Su City Bank into a rage, forcing him to approve three separate billion-Dollar loans for the Morgan family.”

“Wait a second. That one in the qipao ... isn’t that Miss Sasha from the Porter family?”

“No way. Miss Porter is famous for hating social events. Even government officials from Su City have been turned away coldly by her. Why would she show up at Goddess White’s birthday banquet?”

“That’s definitely her. That hairpin she’s wearing is the Porter family’s famous ‘Cloud Summit Hairpin’.”

While everyone was still confused and trying to figure out what was going on, James, who had been watching quietly the whole time without saying a word, finally stepped forward.

Dressed in an elegant traditional Chinese suit, he walked to the front of the crowd and asked politely, “Welcome, both of you, to my daughter’s birthday banquet. May I ask who you are?”

Sylvia smiled. “I’m a friend of Lucas’s. Sylvia. And she’s also Lucas’s friend, Miss Porter from the Porter family. Sasha.”
