Chapter 22
Coming of Age Sex Story: Chapter 22 - David Zimmerman is your average high school junior, a bookish sort with average everything — except athletic ability. He can't throw or hit, swims like a turtle and has wimpy muscles. He was chosen last for every sport in elementary school — when he was chosen at all. His life changed when he kicked a field goal squarely between the uprights, then it changed again the next time he was in a ball game

I saw Sean detach himself from a pillar, come towards me. “You do okay, Capt’n Zim?”
“No, Sean, I didn’t. I did one hell of a lot better than okay!”
I could see his expression at my first words, then the second part got through to him. “You did it?”
“I did it,” I told him. Odd, I thought, of all the people in the world that I was eager to tell, Sean wasn’t on the list. Yet it had happened anyway.
He jumped up and down, clapped me on the back; then his expression fell. “Diane...”
I met his eyes. “Sean, Diane is one of the nicest girls I’ve ever met. She likes CC and you a whole lot better than she likes me. Yeah, it would have been nice ... but yesterday, she just wasn’t there.”
He cast his eyes down. “We did it.”
“Pardon?” I said, not sure what he meant.
“She and CC were doing it; I wanted CC and Diane didn’t want to leave. The three of us...” He shook his head. “We spent most of the night together. Now...” He sighed, “I think CC is grounded.”
“Sean...” He looked at me, his expression pained.
“Sean, you and Diane, even CC; you get to make your own choices. I’ll talk to Mom and Dad and see what I can do. There are some issues we have in our family, Sean. Don’t give up hope.”
He nodded. “You’re not upset?”
“No,” I told him. I motioned towards the hotel. “I need to get in; I’m already late. Hate to make the Olympic team, then get grounded myself. I promise, I’ll be out later and we can talk.”
He nodded, and I went on in. I went up to the suite.
I walked in, and Dad looked up at me from a book. “And?”
“And tomorrow we go back.” I lofted the wad of paper I had with me. “A lot of paper you and Mom have to sign. It’s going to take a lot of time. Some money. But ... yes.”
“Yes?” Mom’s expression was bemused.
“Yes.” I told her. CC appeared, and I could read the question on her face too. “Yes,” I repeated.
“Oh gosh, David! Oh gosh! This is so fantastic!”
I saw Mom glance at CC, then at Dad, then at me. Okay, I thought, here comes what Sean was talking about.
“CC, would you go to your room for a bit?” Mom asked.
“No,” I said simply. “If you’re going to talk about CC, she should stay.”
“CC has gotten a little wild.” Mom said.
“What, sleeping with a guy and his sister?” I said harshly.
“Well,” Dad said with a sigh, “if it was really sleeping with them it wouldn’t be a problem.”
“They were fucking?” I said, being deliberately vulgar.
“That,” Dad said.
“Dad, the other day, Mom was coming on to me. Twice. Asked me not to get tired so we could spend the night. I suspect she wanted to fuck.”
He blinked, Mom’s face fell. “Nothing happened.” I took a deep breath, “Dad, don’t fault CC.”
“I think we should adjourn this discussion,” Mom said. “I think we are all a little ... overheated.”
“We are,” I said, trying to be patient, “all a little oversexed. Tell me Dad, who was it who wanted to apply the lesson Mom was giving me to CC himself?”
My dad looked at me and shook his head. “I was just kidding.”
“Sure you were,” I said sarcastically. “Which is why you were erect, looking at CC. Unless it was because I was there with a hard-on.”
I waved at CC, who was standing quietly, her eyes wide. I doubt if she had expected the conversation to go where it had gone. “So Dad, let’s just put it down to urges we all have. I’m responsible, and if I were a betting person, I’d say CC is ten times more responsible than I am. She has ever so much more to lose than me.”
“Yes,” CC said.
I waved at the door to the suite. “Now, I’ve had a long day, a day where something I never dreamed was possible has come true. I’m going down and have a decent dinner and celebrate my good fortune. If you, Dad, and you, Mom ... if you want to stay up here and behave like idiots, you go right ahead. Personally, I’m more interested in dinner.”
I turned and went back out the door. By the time I got to the elevator, CC had joined me; no Mom and Dad.
“I’m sorry, Zim,” CC told me as I pushed the down button.
“What, for having the same sort of urges I have? I have regrets, CC, but those regrets have nothing to do with you.”
“Oh, you don’t mind Diane and me...”
“Nope. I mind Diane not finding time for me, but Diane and you ... that’s your business, CC. Ditto for Sean. I like them both, and I wouldn’t stand in your way unless I thought you were going to get hurt.”
“It was both I was with.”
I met her eyes. “Tell me, CC, if I don’t have a problem with either, why would I have a problem with both?”
“Diane,” CC said, “She’s really wracked up about this.”
I tried to be patient. “When you and I have issues, CC, we talk. Maybe not always as soon as we should, but we do it. You and I have talked about this; this isn’t the first time. Sean and I have talked about it more than once too. When I tried to talk to Diane, she pretty much changed the subject. And these last two days ... she’s pretty much not around.
“So, I like Diane, but to be brutally frank, there are other fish in the sea. And I didn’t spend the last couple of hours playing volleyball.”
“You have another girlfriend?” CC laughed, “Oh wow! You are so different than you were, David!”
When we got to the restaurant, to my surprise, Ian, Ginny, and Toni were standing in line just ahead of us. Ian caught my eye, asking if I wanted to eat with them; well, at least his daughters. One thing of note, though, was that one of them had gotten a haircut.
“How did it go today, David?” One of them asked, the one with the short hair.
I gave her a thumbs up. “Oh wow!” They chorused.
“Congratulations, David,” Ian said. “Now can I get some tickets to the Olympics next year?”
“One thing they made really clear. Right now about twice as many people are on the team as will be going. They are going to be adding some more here, this summer and fall ... and letting some go. The team won’t be final until right after New Year’s. Maybe one in three of the people accepted right now are going to go.”
“Sounds like a lot of work,” Short Hair added.
“I know this sounds tacky,” I told her. “But when you’re dressed, I can’t tell you apart.”
“I’m Toni,” Short Hair said. “Don’t forget!”
“We talked, Toni and I,” Ginny said. “We promised we wouldn’t swap any more ... and Toni decided she’d get her hair cut.”
“It’s cute,” I said.
Next to me, CC laughed. “Oh yeah!”
“Down girl!” I told her softly, hoping that the remark wouldn’t be interpreted wrong. The fact was, though, both of them were cute, and Toni with short hair was really cute.
I saw Ginny glance at CC, then at Toni. Oh wow! That would make life complicated! CC, Gin and Tonic, Sean and Diane! Too bizarre!
We talked about life, liberty, and the pursuit of dreams. It was a nice dinner, and we took our time. Finally, Ginny yawned; a second later, Toni did too. “Bed,” Ian said firmly. “You two have been up since way early, went to bed late last night!”
I mentally raised an eyebrow. Last I’d seen them, it was early and they were both zonked. Evidently, they’d gotten up before Ian had returned from his meeting.
The twins got up to leave, and so did CC. I watched the three girls head towards the elevators together, talking. I mentally crossed my fingers.
Across the table from me, Ian laughed. “You look concerned, Zim.” His eyes went to where the three had vanished.
“Well ... a little.”
“Is your sister gay?” he asked flat out.
I shrugged. “Partly.”
“It significantly reduces the risk of accidental pregnancy.” He sighed. “They are too wild, aren’t they?”
“They’re better,” I told him. At least in some ways they were.
“That they are, and in large part, because of you. Words can’t begin to express how grateful I am.” He laughed, “Which is why I’m a producer, not a screenwriter.”
“I think they’ll settle down,” I said ... at least one could hope. And if I went with Toni, would that help or hurt?
“Eventually, we all settle down. The trick is getting there intact.” He paused, “Zim ... if you were interested in one or the other ... I wouldn’t mind.”
