Scene 10 — Cal
“Be right back,” Cal said. He grabbed their glasses and headed down to the lounge. The guys from Team 1, Tommy and Dillon, were sitting at the kitchen island drinking beers.
“Hey guys,” Cal said, rummaging in the fridge for an orange. He found one and searched for the other ingredients in the liquor cabinet.
“Hey man,” Tommy said morosely with a slight lilt in his voice, clearly these two had been enjoying a few beers tonight. “Congrats on your win today, you guys really out thought us. Can’t believe you got your girl to take her pants off so fast.”
“It was her idea, actually,” Cal pointed out, “we only just met but we both decided we are here to win at all costs.” He bristled a bit at their insinuations about Lindsey but tried to keep his tone neutral.
“Yeah, fair play bro, it was a smart idea, y’all played well,” Dillon interjected. “Honestly we thought we were in such top shape we could come here and just dominate. We definitely need to think more strategically in order to win. In retrospect, just sprinting back and forth with like 5 balloons apiece was so dumb.”
“Thanks dude, keep in mind it’s just one round, still plenty of time to get back in it.” Cal tried to be diplomatic as he finished making his drinks.
Taking notice of the amber colored liquor and orange peels, Tommy interceded “Eh, hoping to get your lady liquored up for a little fun eh?”
Cal was taken aback, “Uh don’t think so, we just met a few hours ago. Just trying to be polite.” He began walking towards the stairs.
Tommy turned on his stool and said “Alright man, good luck tomorrow ... and tonight,” he said with an exaggerated wink.
