Chapter 24: Three Months after the Wedding

“What is the occasion?” Dane asked. He, Nanette and Aida had just returned from the day’s lectures at the university. When they got home, Alita and Abby were both dressed a bit better than normal, and the table was set for a fancier than normal dinner.

“Go shower first,” Alita said with a secretive smile. With his viscountess and his one concubine both dressed in romantic long dresses, he wore a better pair of slacks and a button-up shirt for dinner. With him at the head of the dining table, his viscountess on his left and his two concubines, and Aida, taking the remainder of the seats, the mystery deepened. Then Alita lit some candles before pouring three glasses of wine and two of water.
