Chapter 9: Life on the Ranch
Rowdy--By the first of February everyone had their passports and their cars were sold. They gave away most of their furniture and packed what they wanted to take with them. I rented a van and called my Aunt Angel.
It was the first time I had ever flown on the company’s jet. We were all impressed! Thomas got a tour of the cockpit and was allowed to sit in the co-pilots’ seat. He returned all excited, telling everyone about how he had helped fly the plane!
Upon landing at the private airport in the capital, we passed through immigration and customs, then loaded our luggage onto the seaplane. I think my new family was more excited on that flight than they were on the jet! Waiting for us on the dock at the lake was my entire family! After the introductions, we loaded our luggage and drove over to the house. Upon entering I was told that Mom and Dad had moved out of their upstairs bedroom and into the downstairs bedroom. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves!
