Chapter 7
“You want money, don’t you? Well, I will give it to you, naturally.” A nasty smile appeared at the corner of Scarlett’s mouth as she took a hundred-dollar bill out of her pocket and waved it in front of Evelyn’s eyes.
Evelyn subconsciously reached out her hand. However, the hundred-dollar bill suddenly slipped from Scarlett’s fingers, missing Evelyn’s slender ones and floating to the ground. In a flash, it was heavily stepped on by a shoe.
Evelyn froze, while Scarlett beamed, “Oh dear, how embarrassing. My hand just twitched and accidentally dropped it. But I think Ms. Clarke is generous enough not to mind. Hurry up and pick it up!”
There was no fluctuation in Evelyn’s eyes, not even a slight one.
She was fully aware that Scarlett did it on purpose.
Instead of getting into a tangle with her and then being scolded or punished by Liam later, Evelyn squatted down without hesitation. However, a sudden tear somewhere made Evelyn tremble. She took a deep breath to restrain herself, but her body went limp, and she collapsed, kneeling on the ground.
Scarlett’s eyes were full of unexpected amazement. Mila was really something! In just two years, Evelyn had become worse than a pig, with no dignity at all!
In the past, how could Evelyn have endured such humiliation?
Evelyn didn’t care. She directly pulled the hundred-dollar bill from under Scarlett’s foot. Anyway, she had already experienced this situation hundreds of times. She had long been numb to it and didn’t feel ashamed. She turned around neatly and left the villa.
The Nevernight City was not far from here. After a few minutes’ drive, Evelyn arrived at the entrance.
After paying, she quickly got out of the car and went to the door of private room No. 15 as Scarlett had said.
Before she pushed the door open, she heard deafening singing and noise coming from inside. For some reason, Evelyn felt uneasy and anxious. She took a deep breath.
She pushed the door open and saw the scene inside the private room. The next moment, she clenched her fists tightly, unable to stop her face from turning pale.
