“I never saw Evelyn as a means to compete with others. I was merely standing up for her. The fact that she ended up with you is truly the most foolish decision she has ever made in her life!” Rafael’s expression changed, filled with disgust. “And I am not as naive as you. I simply want to see her.”
Liam gradually extinguished the cigarette butt with his fingers, a frivolous look on his face: “You want to see her? Unfortunately, she is unwell and not seeing anyone at the moment.”
“Unwell?” Rafael was taken aback, his bright eyes suddenly shining.
“Yes, being unwell requires care. Every night, I have to sleep beside her, holding her in my arms, kissing her all over again and again so that she can barely find peace.” Liam provocatively smiled, full of challenge. “Otherwise, why would she choose to follow me that day instead of you? She is accustomed to being close to me, while you are nobody.”
“You!” Rafael’s face turned red with anger, unable to restrain himself. “Liam, it has been two years already. Is humiliating her like this meaningful? Can’t you let her go?”
“Let her go?” Liam found it hard to believe what he heard. Let Evelyn go? Who would let him go? Who would let Mila go?
“Rafael, what gives you the right to tell me to let her go?” Liam sneered, his cold eyes fixed on him, his tone full of disdain: “If it were the fiancé from three years ago, I could understand. But now, you and Evelyn aren’t even friends. And Evelyn is my lawful wife. What position are you in? It should be you who lets her go.”
Rafael’s expression froze. Liam didn’t bother wasting any more time and turned to leave. As he left, he said: “Don’t let me catch you around the villa again. Next time, my bodyguards won’t be so polite!”
Rafael watched helplessly as Liam walked away, clenching his fists, shouting: “Liam! You love Mila, you don’t like Evelyn at all! Keeping a woman you don’t love by your side and tormenting her, does that make you happy?”
Liam’s steps abruptly halted, his face darkening, lips slightly parting: “I never loved her before, but she never thought of letting me go.”
