“Evelyn, how could you possibly still harbor anger? Hatred? Do you even deserve to feel such things?”
“You were meant to grovel in the dirt your whole life, never to rise again! Otherwise, who should Mila seek justice from for all her suffering?”
At this thought, Liam snatched the iron chain from Scarlett’s hand and crouched down.
Evelyn’s face was tense, her scarlet eyes brimming with pain. “Liam ... may you rot in hell...”
“Hah.” Liam actually chuckled, his dark eyes blazing with malice as he viciously clutched Evelyn’s jaw. “I’ll certainly rot in hell, but before that, I will make sure to drag you down with me.”
He forcibly fastened the iron chain around Evelyn’s neck, observing her fierce struggle at first until she eventually lay still. A sudden wave of displeasure washed over Liam, and he lifted Evelyn’s chin.
“Feel humiliated, Evelyn? Didn’t expect you to still possess a shred of conscience. But don’t blame me for not giving you a chance. As long as you...” He leaned in close, seemingly sneering in a low voice, “Please me in front of everyone, and I will let you go home.”
Evelyn’s lashes didn’t so much as flicker, yet it felt as if a knife had pierced her chest, blood gushing out.
Her hands thrust forcefully into the snow until they lost all sensation.
She suddenly found it laughable, what was the point of her trying to survive? She had wanted to clear her father’s name, not letting him be falsely accused. But now, before she could even do that, she already felt a pain so unbearable that she longed for death...
Receiving no response from Evelyn, Liam angrily shoved her away. “Evelyn, you truly are ungrateful! Fine, then freeze to death in this snow!”
He threatened the others: “No one is allowed to help her. I want to see just how stubborn she can be!”
She would rather kneel and submit than please him?
