Chapter 6

I woke up in a strange bed, light from a nearby window bathed across my face. I felt warmth beside me, a person breathing quietly, still lost in the land of dreams. I’d have to admit, it wasn’t the first time I’d woken up and not known where I was, as the fog in my mind hadn’t cleared up yet. I tried to roll over and quickly had to grip onto the bed, as I nearly fell to the ground. The bed was way too small for two people sleeping in it.

The jolt of nearly falling to the floor roused me awake, and I looked around. As images of the previous night flashed through my mind, I looked down at the girl sleeping next to me. She was mostly covered by a blue sheet, although a bare foot stuck out of one side of the bed. Her legs are strangely long in proportion to the rest of her short body. Lindsay slept peacefully, a slight smile on her face, as her brown hair draped partially across her face. Gently, I brushed her hair away, letting me see the rest of her cute face. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was. I didn’t dare wake her up.

I looked around the room from where I was, not having seen it since it was covered in boxes and bags when she moved it. It was clear she’d done a lot of work in the last couple of days, as there were only a few boxes stuffed into a small corner. I marveled at how she’d been able to put away all the stuff she’d brought. The walls on her side were decorated with a few old posters, the corners slightly ripped and torn from when she’d taken them down at home. One was a band I’d never heard of, while the other two were famous art pieces that I recognized but couldn’t name. I was in Planning, not art history. I would bet there would be more wall art in a few weeks when the annual poster sale swung by campus. Where else could students decorate their walls with pretentious artworks, the periodic table of elements, or various arthouse film posters to let people know they were deep thinkers.

I glanced over at the roommate’s side and looked at the more chaotic decorations. Lindsay’s walls were simple and tasteful, but Donna’s looked like a collage of a twelve-year-old’s bedroom. Red cardboard hearts littered the walls with random photos that I couldn’t make out from where I was. Various arts and crafts dotted the walls, like paper snowflakes and stars. Other random pictures were taped all over the place, filling in almost every blank space on the small walls from the ceiling, down to her empty bed. It was truly a gaudy sight to behold.

“I think we fell asleep,” Lindsay’s voice brought me back from the madness on the other end of the room.

“Yeah, looks like. How’d you sleep?”

“Really good. Best sleep in a month. You?”

“Good, too. I guess we didn’t get to round two,” I chuckled as I lay back down beside her. I placed my hand on her side, overtop of the thin sheet that covered her, resting just below her breast. She looked at me, her brown eyes twinkling in the morning sunlight from the tiny dorm window.

“What’s stopping us now?” she said, leaning in to put her lips to mine.

“Oh, bad girl,” I replied, my hand moving upward to caress her covered tit.

“I guess you’ll have to spank me then...”

In seconds, the sheet covering her was pulled off and was tossed back on the floor, joining the other one from the previous night. The fire and passion from last night rekindled quickly, and we entwined ourselves together on her tiny bed.

“Shit, I’d forgotten about Donna. I hope she’s ok,” Lindsay said as she glanced over at the empty bed across from her.

“She’s probably fine, but I’ll ask around when I get back to the house. I’ll let you know if there’s a problem,” I replied. My arm was underneath Lindsay’s neck as we enjoyed a post-sex cuddle; our still heated bodies rested naked on her bed. Despite my cool and calm demeanor, I couldn’t help but be a little concerned for her roommate.

I didn’t know her at all, but she was left alone at a massive party where alcohol flowed freely. While we tried to keep things wild and free, we did actually have people in charge of keeping an eye out for trouble. This wasn’t necessarily out of the kindness of our hearts but to keep the local police from shutting us down. The local sheriff was a former Alpha brother, so he gave us a lot of leeway, but the local attorney’s office would want nothing more than to nail us for something. The last thing we’d want is a sexual assault or rape accusation against our house.

Reggie was one of the people entrusted to keep an eye on things, among a few others. It was one of the reasons I flagged him over to talk to Donna in the first place. I just hoped he knew what had happened to her last night.

“What now?” I asked as I kissed Lindsay’s neck.

“I think...” she said as she stretched herself out, her arms lifting above her head and her toes pointed straight down. I couldn’t help but look at the tiny, matted hairs above her slit and the trickle of white that oozed out just a little ways below. “ ... I’m hungry.”

Now that she’d mentioned it, I was getting hungry myself. I hadn’t eaten since dinner last night, and that was rushed since there had been a lot of work left to do. Lindsay gave me a hug before bouncing off the bed. Her small ass barely jiggled as she walked to a dresser to pull out some clothes.

“Are you going to the caf? I ... wait...” I realized I didn’t have my wallet or even any clothes with me. I’d gone there with nothing, but boxers and a bed sheet wrapped over my shoulder. I couldn’t get anything from the cafeteria if I wanted to.

“Yeah, I’m going to shower first, though. I probably smell like I feel ... a sticky mess,” Lindsay replied, stacking clothing in a pile before putting on her bathrobe. I had to say goodbye to her naked body, unfortunately, when it was covered again.

“I guess that’s my cue to leave then,” I said, as I picked up my boxers from the floor and put them on.

“How are you getting home in just your boxers?” she asked, clearly amused with my dilemma.

“Same way I got here.” I slung the sheet over my shoulder and tied it up to roughly remake the toga from the night before. It only took me a minute, thanks to plenty of practice.

“I had fun last night,” said Lindsay, kissing me one final time as we moved to the door.

“So did I, and we can do it as often as we want now.”

With that said, Lindsay opened the door and checked the hallway. A few girls wandered about, but there was no security around. I’d forgotten to check the time, to be honest, so I wasn’t sure if we were still in the forbidden zone or not. I thought it was best to be safe, so we said goodbye, and I made my way towards the stairs and the back exit we’d used the night before.

My exit from Lindsay’s room wasn’t as secret as my arrival, as a few girls noticed me creeping away. I could hear a few giggles and the odd clapping as I made my escape. As I made it to the stairs, I took one look back to see Lindsay being approached by a few of the girls. I smiled, then descended the stairs and quickly made my exit into the warm morning air.

My feet carried me along as I walked on the grass across the quad. I got several stares from people as I went, and a few people pointed at me. I was clearly doing the walk of shame, wearing the clothes from the night before, but I felt nothing of the kind. I was elated and joyful. My heart sang the songs of triumph, and I wanted to kick up my heels and dance. A slight warm breeze nipped at my sheet toga, lifting it up a little bit. I wondered if that was what it was like for a girl in a skirt on a windy day. I mean, I wouldn’t really know since I couldn’t talk about what happened during my rush week when I was a lowly pledge a couple of years ago. Nope, nothing happened then whatsoever.

A couple of girls I passed giggled at me as I approached the frat house. I smiled and waved politely, always choosing to be a gentleman. I walked up the pathway to the house; the fake white columns I’d made were still in place on the large wrap around porch as I climbed the couple of steps and pulled open the front door.

The place was a mess, as it usually was after a party. Cups scattered all over the floor, paper towels and napkins were everywhere, and there was a noticeable odor of beer that lingered in the air. A few fellow Alphas sat on one of the couches in the main living room, their eyes bleary from tiredness and probably alcohol. One of them was Steve, who noticed me standing there still in my toga.

“Look at this guy, coming in here dressed from last night,” he said loudly, clapping his hands.

All heads turned towards me, including a few from around corners. Suddenly, there was a round of applause that seemed to erupt from the whole house, although that could have just been in my mind. I knew there was nothing better to do, so I raised my hands up and bowed politely, like I’d just finished a play. A few more cheers and whistles rang out, and I bowed again to laughter.

“How’d the night go?” I asked Steve once things settled down.

“Pretty good for you, it seems,” he joked, “but overall, feedback was super positive. We definitely set the bar for the year with that one. The Lambdas and Deltas have no chance of topping this one.”

“Never say never. They’re a crafty bunch,” I replied, but my heart swelled with pride. “Any problems?”

“Don’t know when you, uh, took off, but it was all good. Nah, a couple of almost-fights, but they were broken up quickly. Beyond that, nothing out of the ordinary,” Steve replied. As the bartender last night, he was also one of the people who had to stay sober. He had to keep an eye out for guys spiking drinks or overserving someone who’d clearly had enough. It was the same with the person who manned the kegs.

“Good stuff! I’m going to get changed and grab some food, and then we can sort out cleaning this place up.”

“Cool. I’m going to take it easy till then...” Steve said, his eyes returning to the TV and his phone.

I climbed the stairs and went to my room to change. I found my roommate still in bed, but he was alone. Whoever he’d been with must have split in the night or early morning. I didn’t feel like bothering him, so I quietly got changed and quickly left. I grabbed my phone off my bedside table. I’d felt so naked without it, but I had no pockets in which to carry it last night. I checked a few texts I’d had, mostly people wondering where I’d disappeared to before heading back downstairs to the kitchen.
