Prologue

Yep, as far as I’m concerned, it’s all Charlie’s fault, and if you want to know who Charlie is, he’s an outlaw-in-law of mine. Well, no, actually, he verges on being an outlaw, and I happen to know that because he’s an ex-in-law. So, he might not be either an actual outlaw or an actual in-law, but he sure turned out to be a pain in the butt. Only, that isn’t exactly right either, yet because of him, I’m in a fix, and I can’t figure out how to get out of it, at least not so far. Aww hell, I might as well admit that I suspect my ex-wife’s brother is responsible for setting things up so I would end up in a situation I wasn’t prepared to face. You might say it looks a lot like he wanted revenge, since I derailed his sister’s plans to have her and her family live off my savings for the rest of their lives, only I don’t know how or why he managed it.
