Chapter 8: Osa and the Orangemen interlude 2
Amy places special sapling trees along the road that will alert her to any travellers that approach the town of Brinkham, while John places bells, snares, and small traps on either side of the road to discourage people from leaving the road. Using druid and ranger techniques, they invisibly fortify the approach to the town. Amy also uses her plants to influence the local wildlife to become hostile to Redmen and Orangemen. That wildlife includes birds, squirrels, deer, a pack of wolves, and a bear.
In town Becka and her father, the mayor, are organizing a special response detail of people who will help defend the town from Orangemen, bandits, or raiders of any kind. This ranges from arming preset traps to firing bows from rooftops to causing simple distractions and taking cover. They also begin working on digging an underground tunnel system that will allow the townsfolk to disappear and move around without being seen by hostile forces.
