Chapter 64
I had triggered my time stop, and walked away from the very lucky battalion of soldiers. Walking back to my hotel I slowly calmed down. I left the message up in my vision, not sure what to do about it. The 30 minute walk was quiet and peaceful. I didn’t have to worry about crossing the street, there were no honking horns, or barking dogs as I took the route that led me thru the park and along the waterfront.
Standing at the base of the hotel, I decided against going in, and found a park bench looking out over the still water until the timer ran out. The return of a bitterly cold wind sent me quickly back to my hotel room, as I had no desire to sit further amidst the now moving people.
Back in my room, I sat on the chair in front of my laptop. A countdown timer showed 22 hours and 42 minutes remaining till my meeting. I checked the time, and Portland was only 5am. I moved to Pitcairn instead, flying thru the transport tunnel at 50x and arriving at my secret storage room in the rock. I summoned all my files on everybody that Aida had been keeping, dropping them in a stack in the corner.
A quick send and retrieve of my San Diego phone showed no messages. I wrote a quick message to Pete, and sent the phone back and retrieved it. It showed the message still pending, and not sent. I sent it again for a longer period of time, it came back the same. I must not have any signal, guessing the FBI had turned my phone off. Bastards.
I took a calming breath and checked my stats, as I moved back to the RV sitting down outside on a summoned beach chair looking out over the water. It was still a good hour until sunrise, but I could hear the ocean, and there was a calm peacefulness that surrounded me as I sat there watching the stars grow dim in the early morning pre sunrise light.

My recent foray into the UN had increased the number of people who disliked me. My mosquito was now running at 90k neutral points a minute, with a double bonus for positive, and to keep the full double 50% bonus active on the negative mosquito points from the add frost skill, I needed more negative than positive, so I had left that bank balance higher. I’d also earned a Free Spin.
I had potentially seven new skills, and 6 full free upgrades to use plus the ability to pick from specific categories if I chose. I had neutral points for potentially three more levels, provided they went up at a cost of 100 million each new level.
My countdown clock clicked over to 22 hours remaining, and I took a deep breath. I was worried. I didn’t have much recourse against a System Administrator, whoever, or whatever that was. I needed skills that would make the Sys Admin happy. I followed Scribe’s advice.
Pick a New Passive Skill:
~普天同庆 everywhere heaven together celebrate (0/4)
~生米煮成熟饭 uncooked rice boiled till cooked rice (0/4)
~山明水秀 mountains bright water graceful (0/4)
~瓜田李下 melon field plum under (0/4)
~缘木求鱼 climbing trees to catch fish (0/4)
I asked Scribe which would be beneficial in my war against the FBI. Melon field blinked, so I asked which would help me with the System Administrator. Uncooked rice, melon field, and climbing trees all blinked. I made my choice, and used my auto upgrade option.
瓜田李下 melon field plum under (4/4)
- blind mice, thieves can’t steal what they can’t see, anyone attempting to steal something from your person will be unable to find you or the things you carry, protection from theft includes any companions you are traveling with
- magic eraser, your personal information disappears when it is transferred, no one can steal your information, or sell it to another party, even if legally allowed
- my vault, no one can take anything that belongs to you, your things, both the objects and living creatures that belong to you, including your person, no matter where located you can not be taken against your will, anyone who makes an attempt will be discouraged
- No Capone, your tax preparer will always find every possible loophole, and it will never be questioned, as a result you will never pay taxes, you will receive refunds every year in excess of any taxes you might have paid
Jesus Christ, why didn’t I have this skill sooner? It solved the problem of the FBI taking my stuff in the future. I was tempted to run off immediately and get my truck back, but instead chose to get more new skills first.
Pick a New Passive Skill:
~普天同庆 everywhere heaven together celebrate (0/4)
~精打细算 meticulous plan (0/4)
~山明水秀 mountains bright water graceful (0/4)
~一无所有 one nothing possess (0/3)
~千军易得,一将难求 thousand soldiers are easy to get, but a general is hard to find (0/5)
There seemed to be only one choice, that 5 level skill had come up again. Scribe thought that the System Administrator would like one nothing as well as the 5 level skill. The choice was obvious and I used my second to last passive skill upgrade.
千军易得,一将难求 thousand soldiers are easy to get, but a general is hard to find (5/5)
