Chapter 19: Satisfying Qíngfù Niáng
Historical Sex Story: Chapter 19: Satisfying Qíngfù Niáng - Two English sisters are captured by Chinese pirates while on board a ship taking them home to England. They are transported in chains to the Lotus Garden where they are trained to be concubines. The owner of the Lotus Garden takes pleasure in testing the sexual skills of the Lotus Garden slaves, awarding a personal seal of approval in the form of a small tattoo. The story is set in 16th century China.

Morning lessons are still in progress and I belatedly join my usual class. News of AhLin’s and my summons to Qíngfù Niáng’s audience this morning has become common knowledge. AhLin proudly tells the other odalisques that she has received a letter from Mìngfù Jing addressed to her personally. There are clamours for AhLin to read the letter to the class, but AhLin refuses. I don’t know if her refusal is because of her doubts about her reading skills, or whether she doesn’t want to spark another round of jealousy and factional squabbles.
Pangfua’s return to the family wing has ended the truce between the factions in the harem. Genji has obviously been instructed to rebuild Pangfua’s faction as best she can. This time Pangfua must have instructed Genji to try bribery rather than intimidation alone. Pangfua must have realised her previous mistake and has opened up her purse strings to buy support. As usual, Huifen is a good spy and she quickly learns the size and conditions of Pangfua’s generosity. The small bribe may attract a few of the younger girls to Pangfua’s side, but I think the risks of being caught causing trouble for AhLin outweigh the paltry sum offered. Even so, AhLin isn’t the only target for mischief, and Huifen, Luli and I will need to keep an eye out for trouble. If Huifen is correct, then the three of us are also targets for Pangfua’s trickery.
Over the next few days there are attempts to discredit AhLin, and blame her for mishaps which she couldn’t possibly have caused. A combination of Huifen’s skills at subterfuge and Qíngfù Niáng’s refusal to involve herself in petty harem squabbles means that AhLin’s reputation is undamaged. After a while I realise Genji must have decided to call a halt to her games since accusations against AhLin suddenly stop. Perhaps she and Pangfua are waiting for a new batch of slaves to arrive. With the war over, and Mìngfù Jing expected to return any day, there are rumours that the population of the harem will be increased to its prewar numbers. New arrivals means Pangfua and Genji will have plenty of possible recruits for their cause.
My amended duties enable me to answer Qíngfù Niáng’s periodic summons for sex without attracting undue attention. While I have told AhLin of my budding relationship with Qíngfù Niáng, neither of us have told anyone else. Zihan may suspect that something is going on, but our own relationship hasn’t been unduly affected. I suspect Huifen will be aware of my frequent visits to Qíngfù Niáng’s rooms, but she’s an expert at keeping secrets.
While Nuying and AhLin are rivals for Mìngfù Jing’s affections, they at least seem to be able to share the same alcove without coming to blows. Nuying reminds AhLin of a few basic facts of life in Mìngfù Jing’s harem.
“The reason Pangfua has called off her dogs is because she believes that your days as Mìngfù Jing’s concubine are numbered, AhLin,” says Nuying when she overhears AhLin and I talking about the sudden halt in the mischiefmaking against us.
“Why should that be so?” asks AhLin.
“You know that Pangfua’s father is Mìngfù Jing’s and Qíngfù Niáng’s uncle. He is extremely wealthy, with many connections to prominent businessmen. He has coveted ownership of the House of the Silver Lotus for years. Despite Qíngfù Niáng’s best efforts, the disruption caused by the recent war will have placed the Lotus Garden under financial strain. Pangfua believes her father will purchase the Lotus Garden and put Pangfua in joint charge with Mìngfù Jing as soon as she returns from the war.”
While I wonder how Nuying came by this information, what she says is consistent with what AhLin and I learned over the last few weeks. I can see that AhLin is giving serious thought towards means of preventing such a thing from happening. For the moment I have another issue to worry about. Word has been sent ahead that the Portuguese captive will be arriving in a couple of days and that I’m being put in charge of inducting her into the harem.
The next day we receive word that Mìngfù Jing will be arriving tomorrow, a day earlier than Qíngfù Niáng expected. The Lotus Garden immediately turns into a hive of activity. Uniforms and silk dresses are cleaned and repaired in preparation for the welcome ceremony. AhLin is excited at the prospect of seeing Mìngfù Jing again.
That night we are settling down for bed when Huàn Hong comes up to me.
“Get dressed, Meizhen,” says Huàn Hong. “Qíngfù Niáng wishes to see you to her room.”
I initially assume that I’m being summoned for sex with Qíngfù Niáng. So far Qíngfù Niáng has required that our relationship be kept quiet. However, Huàn Hong must realise why I’m often called to Qíngfù Niáng’s room at night. Fortunately he knows when to keep his mouth shut.
“Qíngfù Niáng has guests, so be prepared,” says Huàn Hong, subtly forewarning me that this isn’t the usual visit for sex.
I knock on the door to Qíngfù Niáng’s suite and Shuchang answers the door. Huàn Hong and I are told to enter. Inside the room is Qíngfù Niáng, Mìngfù Jing, Daoshi Shi, and three young women in their early twenties whom I don’t recognise. Two of the women are Chinese, and the third, I presume, is the Portuguese woman whom we’ve been expecting.
