An hour after breakfast Jason and his crew of military aides and body protectors, and an excited Rina, got into the shuttle for the five-hour flight to the southern continent and Lisa’s home. Besides the two pilots, all four the marines guards were going as well.
The city of Providence, capitol city of the DaGama province, was built on a plateau close to the sea on the north-west coast of the southern continent. The gentle incline between the edge of the low plateau and the coast were occupied by a mix of classy beach-front estates, fishing villages, and lots with sizable backyard gardens.
The shuttle approached the city from the sea and made a slow turn over the city before heading back toward the upper-class estates. Jason, Sam, and Lisa were in the cockpit as Lisa pointed out some landmarks and indicated to the pilots where the DaGama Estate was.
Viscount DaGama, being the ruler of the DaGama Province in western Greenland had an estate that reflected his status, while also keeping it relatively low key. The estate consisted of a well-manicured park with the four-story T-shaped sand-stone mansion in the middle of the kilometer-square park.
“The estate is actually the whole park, but most of it is open to the public,” Lisa explained. “The security cordon does not include the entire park.”
As the shuttle settled on the hovercraft pad to the side of the main building, the four marines jumped out and formed into an honor guard as the three BPs wandered in circles around the shuttle. Lisa gave Jason a critical look and then pulled the Moorefield medallion out of his shirt.
Finally, Jason and Lisa got out with Greg following them. Greg and Lisa were in regular dress uniforms while Jason was wearing a business suit. Lisa hooked arms with Jason as she led him to the main entrance. It was the first time she ever showed that level of intimacy in public so she was looking shy when Jason glanced at her.
As they approached the main entrance of the mansion, an Imperial Marine captain came marching toward them. He stopped and saluted Jason as they got close but then he continued towards the hovercraft.
“He is daddy’s aide,” Lisa commented. “I guess he has been told to take care of the pilots and marines.”
The viscount and viscountess as well as another teenage boy were all waiting in front of the grand main entrance as they walked up the steps. Jason also noticed two other males, a gentleman in a tuxedo, and a body protector, waiting behind the viscount. The House Taurus medallion was still hidden with just the ribbon showing.
“Jason Taurus, meet my father, Steven Gomes, Viscount DaGama, and my mother, Viscountess Rolinda,” Lisa introduced them as they stopped in front of the older couple. “Also meet my brother, Baron Roland of Corsica, heir to the viscount.”
Jason was aware that when formal introductions were made, the junior person was introduced to the senior person. With Jason and Lisa’s father both being Viscounts, Lisa’s father should have been the senior due to age but Lisa decided to follow proper protocol and introduced the viscount to the earl. Jason noticed that both Viscount DaGama and his wife realized what Lisa did and lifted eyebrows in surprise. “Father, Mother, meet Jason Taurus, Viscount Moorefield of Grendel,” Lisa continued. Jason could see the two didn’t recognize his senior title.
“Viscount Moorefield, welcome to our home,” DaGama said as he shook Jason’s hand. Lisa ignored the three BPs and just introduced Greg as Jason’s ADC.
“You are just in time for a light luncheon,” Viscountess Rolinda said. She hooked arms with her daughter and headed into the building. “Come along,” she called over her shoulder.
“Should the ADC of a Viscount not have a higher rank?” DaGama asked as the party entered the grand entrance hall.
“I think they should, but that will depend on the Marine Corps,” Jason said. The older viscount just nodded his head in agreement.
Viscountess Rolinda led them into a small dining room with her two children on her arms as the viscount escorted Jason in after them. The four BPs were right on Jason’s heels.
“So, tell me, Mother, what was your impression when I told you about returning to Secundus in the company of Lord Jason?” The viscountess blinked a few times in confusion.
“Ha, she assumed that you and Viscount Moorefield has come to an agreement, that you two are lovers,” Roland blurted out with a grin on his face.
“We are not lovers,” Lisa said as she looked Jason in the eyes. They were sitting across from each other.
“Do you intend to become lovers?” Viscountess Rolinda asked politely, with a noticeable tone of disagreement in her voice. Lisa’s eyes grew big as she looked at Jason with a pleading look on her face.
“We cannot prevent Lisa from becoming your lover if she decides to do so,” Viscountess Rolinda said. “I’m a mother and will always want what is best for my children. Since Celeste married the heir of Viscount Salisbury there is no real need for her to make a proper marriage but being the concubine of a viscount is so much better than being just his lover. It would have been even better if Lord Jason were to make you his viscountess.”
“He cannot do that, mother,” Lisa said with a naughty twinkle in her eyes.
“Oh? Are you already married, my lord?” Viscountess Rolinda asked Jason.
“No, my lady,” Jason responded. “I have been told that I do not get to pick my own bride.”
“I don’t understand,” the viscountess responded as she looked at Lisa. “It is understandable that the duke of your system have to approve your viscountess but Lisa should be a more than adequate viscountess.”
“Let us finish here and go talk in the library,” The viscount suggested.
“Tell me how Celeste and Zane are doing,” Lisa asked. “Is she pregnant yet?”
While the two ladies discussed family members, Baron Roland asked Jason about Grendel, and the famous Grendel Marine Corps. He had a healthy fascination with anything military even if he could never do more than talk about them. Jason didn’t have the heart to admit that he was a Grendel Marine.
After the light meal the viscount and viscountess escorted everybody to the library. After Sam and Steve examined the room, and determined that it was safe, while Elena stuck close to Jason, Sam remained just inside the door as the other two left along with all the servants. It was obvious that neither the viscount nor viscountess was happy to have a strange servant inside their private library but they had no idea what to do about it.
“Mother, father, I have to explain some things about Lord Jason,” Lisa said as she sat down next to Jason and took his hand into her lap. “For starters I have to explain Lord Jason’s proper titles.”
“Titles? Are there more than one?” DaGama asked. “Does this have anything to do with him being shadowed by three body protectors?”
“Yes, it does,” Lisa replied. “Six months ago, he was a commoner, the second grandson of the duke of Grendel and with no idea who his father was. Even his mother, Lady Olivia, daughter of the duke, had no idea who her lover really was.” She continued to give an abbreviated explanation of Jason’s military background and how he used his father’s name. “His real name is Jason Cosgrove, the same name as his sire,” She finished.
“Wait, I have heard that name before,” the viscount exclaimed.
“It’s the family name of the emperor, father,” Roland said calmly. “All of the emperors are named either Jason or Brian Cosgrove, back since the third emperor.”
“So, when the emperor saw his own name on the commissioning declaration, he put two and two together,” Lisa said. “Before Lord Jason became Viscount Moorefield, he inherited his father’s secondary title, that of head of House Taurus, Earl Jason Cosgrove.”
“Head of an imperial house?” DaGama echoed in confusion.
“Not just any house either,” Roland said as he gave Jason a surprised look.
“What do you mean?” the viscountess asked her son.
“Jason Taurus...,” Roland said. “The emperor used to be called Jason Taurus before he became Jason Pleiades. Don’t you guys know anything?”
“You mean...,” the viscountess said as she stared at Jason in surprise.
“Exactly Mother,” Lisa said. “Jason will be the next emperor. That is why he has so many body protectors. That is why I am willing to be Jason’s lover. That is also why he cannot marry me; the imperial council has to approve before the next empress can be announced.”
“The emperor has not been seen for the past three months,” DaGama muttered.
“That is because he traveled to Grendel, to fetch his wife, my mother,” Jason responded.
“My apologies if this sounds crude and inappropriate, my lord,” Viscountess Rolinda said to Jason, “but does this not mean you have been born out of wedlock? What if your mother has another son, born in wedlock? Would such a son not be the preferred heir?”
“Being selected by the emperor as his heir in front of a number of witnesses means I had no say in the matter, my lady,” Jason responded. “If a more suitable heir was to be found and the emperor asks me to voluntary step aside I would do so, even if it means I end up losing all my favorite concubines in the process.”
“That would be a great way of testing their feelings toward you,” Baron Roland commented. Lisa gave Jason a calculating look as he nodded in agreement.
“Let me show you to your suite, my lord,” Viscountess Rolinda said as she stood. “I’m sure you would like to freshen up before dinner tonight.”
Lewis was already in the room that Jason was guided to, busy organizing his clothing. Lisa left with her mother after giving Jason a subtle air-kiss.
“Where did Greg and Lewis get stashed?” Jason asked Sam and he sat down across from her.
“They put us in the palace guard’s officer quarters. Elena and Rina share a room,” Sam said. “That second bedroom is meant for any staff members you might have brought along, not the servants.”
“I would have thought Greg would be seen as a staff member,” Jason commented.
“Apparently not,” Sam said with a shrug. “Don’t worry, one of your trusty BPs will be here in the lounge all the time you are in the suite.”
“Really?” Jason asked casually as he gave Sam a smirk. She gave him a raspberry before ignoring him.
A few minutes later there was a knock on the door. Sam jumped up and opened the door. Outside stood a marine captain and Greg.
“My lord, I am Captain Voss. I have been appointed as your local ADC while you are visiting Viscount DaGama,” the captain said “I will work closely with Lieutenant Delano.”
“Thank you, Captain,” Jason responded. “Tell me, is it permissible to explore the gardens?” The captain grinned back at Jason.
“By all means, my lord,” he said. “The gardens are the pride and joy of the viscountess. She really like it when visitors explore her work. If you require a guide, somebody knowledgeable about the plants, I can supply you with such a person.” Greg stayed standing in the passageway, looking lost.
“Let’s go explore the garden,” Jason said to Greg as he gently pulled Sam out from behind the door by her arm. The three BPs fell in around Jason so he always had one of them in front and one behind him with Greg walking next to him. Jason could see something was bothering Greg.
“So, are you having fun yet, so far away from home?” Jason asked in an attempt to get Greg to relax and talk.
“My lord, when you walked into that classroom, we three sons of barons were totally incompetent and useless as far as the Grendel Marine Corps was concerned,” Greg said. “We only managed to stay in the program because we did the minimum amount of work required to pass the tests, and because of our fathers. It took a long time before I saw the light and realized I was wasting my time. The other two still have not seen the light.”
“So how did you manage to get assigned to me?” Jason asked.
“I begged and pleaded,” Greg said. “I managed to pull myself together and graduated ahead of the other two but below your group. I shamelessly used my father’s status to get myself assigned to be your ADC. I realized if I ever hope to make something of myself, I had better get myself a superior role model. Following you to Secundus definitely helps as well.”
“And yet I get the impression something is bothering you,” Jason said.
“Other than behaving badly towards Shelly and Carmen, and you of course, back when you first joined us, I also feel as if I’m mostly out of my depth as your ADC.” Greg said. “I might be more suitable being the ADC to a regular system duke, one far away from Secundus, but now I find myself the ADC of the next emperor, on Secundus. I’m terrified of making mistakes.”
“I guess I have one piece of advice for you,” Jason said. “Remember this; it is easier to ask a stupid question than to explain a stupid mistake. Also, never stop learning. If you think you are out of your depth, have a thought for me. I am not much different from the green kid who walked into that classroom that day, yet I am the next emperor, of an empire spanning more than twenty inhabited systems, and nearly three billion people. I stand a much better chance of making serious mistakes than you are.”
“I guess I was just trying to feel sorry for myself, my lord,” Greg said. “I do feel better now, realizing that you are not only human, but compassionate and also just. I think you would make a great emperor.”
“I bet those other two are still envious of you coming with me to Secundus,” Jason said with a chuckle.
“Not as envious as my sister,” Greg said. “You danced with her at a number of different balls. She never stopped talking about you after the first time you danced with her. I finally realized who she was going on about when I received my appointment to be your Grendel ADC.”
“What? You mean I danced with her before I joined the marines?” Jason asked.
“I think the first time she started talking about her hero was about six months before you joined the class,” Greg said. “I think it must have been the Viscount’s ball during the harvest festival of that year.”
“I wonder if my own sense of self-worth would have been better if I knew I had at least one ardent admirer, and a baron’s daughter as well,” Jason said. “I’m surprised I didn’t recognize her the second and third times.”
“She was at an awkward age that first time, a bit overweight and on the verge of starting puberty,” Greg said. “The second time she was in the throes of puberty, with a million zits. You still treated her as if she was the only girl in the hall on both occasions. The last time, during the Marine Ball, she actually looked quite nice, for a sister at least. I suspect that she blushed so much that you might not have recognized her anyway.”
“I should send her a message, thanking her for dancing with me,” Jason said.
“My lord, while I appreciate the sentiment, I think such an innocent gesture from you could very well result in her never getting married, unless she is forced to marry. She already has such a crush on you that mere mortals will never measure up against you, and she still has no idea that you are the next emperor,” Greg responded with a chuckle.
“Maybe you should get her to come visit us, so I can marry her off to a nice heir to a dukedom,” Jason said. Greg had a far-away look on his face after that comment.
Jason never saw anything of Lisa that afternoon, until he walked into the library for a pre-dinner glass of sherry. An hour before the time, Lewis arrived and started bossing Jason around. She even bothered him in the shower, red face and all. He was sitting on the couch with just a towel around his hips after showering, while she brushed his hair for him. When she was done, he pulled her over the back of the couch onto his lap and cuddled her for a bit. She seemed to love that but complained that her panties were wet when she got off his lap. He just laughed and continued teasing her as he allowed her to help dress him in a formal suit.
When it was time to go, Greg and Captain Voss arrived, both dressed in their formal marine uniforms. Jason was glad to notice that Greg was wearing a short sword, indicating his noble status. When they walked into the library he was met by the stares of a small crowd of people. He had this urge to flee or hide but then Lisa came forward and curtsied before him. She was also dressed in her formal uniform, which meant that as an Imperial Marine officer in full uniform, she should only curtsy to the emperor and salute all other senior officers but nobody said anything as she hooked in with him and introduced him to her mother’s guests.
“Relax, my lord, only Duke Russel of Greenland outranks you and only barely,” Lisa muttered as she led Jason to an older gentleman hanging onto a much younger and pretty lady. “Your Grace, may I present Jason Taurus, Viscount Moorefield of Grendel. Duke Russel of Greenland, and Duchess Amore, my lord,” Lisa introduced Jason. He bowed to the duke and his lady, with the lady blushing furiously as he looked her in the eyes.
“Have you also had a warning of the emperor’s return, Lord Jason?” the duke asked. Jason glanced at Lisa before replying that he had not received any recent news about the emperor.
“What did the report say about the emperor?” Viscountess Rolinda asked.
“Nothing much,” the duke replied. “I have just been reminded that the emperor was going to make a formal announcement tonight.”
Lisa hooked in with Jason and led him to a couple standing nearby. The couple was about the same age as Viscount DaGama and his wife and turned out to be the Viscount Salisbury and his wife. Then Lisa led Jason to a much younger couple. Jason noticed the family resemblance between the girl and Lisa. Viscount Salisbury was a pudgy and less than attractive guy. He was not surprised when Lisa’s sister flirted with him. The rest of the people, couples as well as singles, were barons and their offspring, as well as a few Marine officers. Lisa was the only female Marine officer present.
“Ladies, I know we normally have a random matching up of couples for dinner,” Lady Rolinda announced to the group. “Unfortunately, Lisa insisted on being Lord Jason’s dinner partner. The rest of us can mix and match as we want.”
When they took their seats around the table, Jason sat at the one end of the long table, with the duke at the other end. Lisa was on his left and Lady Celeste on Jason’s right. It was obvious that the seating arrangement was made based on seniority, with Jason outranking everybody except the duke.
Halfway through the second entree another marine officer, a young lieutenant came in and first whispered to the ADC major before repeating the same message to Viscount DaGama. The viscount stood and addressed the guests.
“Ladies and Gentleman, I have just been informed that the emperor is about to make a formal announcement,” Viscount DaGama said. “Lieutenant?” The lieutenant used a remote to lower a large display panel from a slot in the ceiling. As the panel lowered the imperial emblem became visible. Everybody stopped eating and talking as they turned to watch the panel. Jason was forced to turn around in his chair since the panel was behind his chair.
The imperial emblem faded away and then his mother and father were on the screen, standing next to each other while holding hands. His mom looked even prettier and more youthful than before. She had a radiant smile on her face as she looked at the camera. The emperor, his father, was dressed in the full uniform of Field Marshall. The room they were in was well lit but with dark walls so no detail of the room could be seen except for a small waist-high stand or table on the emperor’s side.
“To all my people, I greet you,” the emperor said as he let go of Lady Olivia’s hand and reached behind him. The next moment everybody in the dining room gaped or murmured as the emperor laid his meter-long wand/staff on the table next to him. The emperor didn’t even look at the wand or the table and he did it so casually that it looked totally natural while also indicated that he was the emperor.
“I would like to introduce all of you to the love of my life,” The emperor said as he took Lady Olivia’s hand again and looked into her eyes as she looked back at him. Even Jason could see they were both smitten with each other. “This is Olivia Carmichael, only daughter of Duke Richard the Second of Grendel. I first met Olivia as a young and pure sixteen-year-old girl when I visited Grendel using my birth name. This was four years before I became emperor. Due to unfortunate circumstances we could not stay together and we lost contact with each other, until three months ago, eighteen years after first laying eyes on this lovely lady, when I found myself signing the commission of a young candidate officer from the Grendel Marine Corps, with my birth name, aged seventeen. I decided not to miss another opportunity of happiness so I proposed to Lady Olivia, and she accepted. I hereby give notice that I will be convening a full meeting of the imperial council, in three days’ time, to present Lady Olivia to the imperial Council and have them approve of my decision to marry Lady Olivia and make her my empress. Immediately after the council has given their approval, I will formally introduce my son with Olivia and my natural heir. I already appointed my son as the new head of House Taurus. That is all for now,” Then the image of Jason’s parents froze.
Jason’s neck was getting stiff from looking behind him so he turned back to face the others, everybody was staring at him. It was Lisa’s glance up at the screen behind Jason that told him they all suddenly noticed the obvious family resemblance between him and the emperor.
“If anybody had any doubt about your real identity before, my lord, such doubt has now been laid to rest,” Duke Russel of Greenland said. Under the table Lisa reached out and took hold of Jason’s hand, giving it a squeeze as she smiled at him.
“You are so lucky,” Lady Celeste said softly to her younger sister.
“Viscount DaGama, Viscountess Rolinda,” Jason said as he stood at the end of the meal. The viscount had just announced that the gentleman would retire to the library where the ladies would meet them after a short break when Jason stood and addressed the guests. “I would like to thank you for your graciously inviting me to your home and introducing me to your friends. I have been exposed to my current status for a mere three months so if I make any social errors, please forgive me, and blame my youth for such mistakes. I would like to make use of this opportunity to ask of you a rare treasure, in the form of your lovely daughter Lady Lisa. I would love to take Lisa as my concubine.” The guests sat still for about five seconds before Viscountess Rolinda jumped up and approached Jason. By the time she got to Jason, Lisa has also stood up next to Jason so her mother ended up hugging both of them. That broke the ice as everybody stood to applaud.
“Do we have to hang around here much longer?” Jason asked Lisa when nobody seemed to be doing much except to drink more alcoholic beverages. They were enjoying after-dinner drinks in the library.
“No, my lord,” Lisa responded. “Everybody is just waiting for the duke and Daddy to depart before they will all stream out of here.” Jason securely tucked Lisa’s hand into his elbow and then set off to the duke. Jason bowed to the duke.
“Good evening, Your Grace,” Jason greeted the duke.
“Since I am a member of the Imperial Council, I will see you in three days when the emperor formally introduces you. I hope you and I will get to become friends. I can see Duke James of Atlas, the chairman of the Imperial Council, getting all twisted up into knots when he meets you.”
“Why would he do that, Your Grace?” Jason asked innocently.
“He is a bit of a status hound,” the duke explained. “He seems to be in constant opposition to the emperor. Would like to see himself as the logical replacement of the emperor since the emperor had no heir, until now. Whenever the emperor is out of reach, he assumes stewardship of the Empire. With your introduction that will go away. He will feel it even more since he has no sons. Then there is the mystery concerning his only daughter. Lovely girl, except she has not been seen in public for the past two years.” Jason realized he already had a taste of that particular conflict when he met the duke of Atlas. He thanked the Viscountess for dinner and excused himself, dragging a more than willing Lisa along with him.
“My sister is ever so slightly jealous of me,” Lisa muttered. “She would gladly trade places with me, and not because of your titles either.”
“When I take a girl as my concubine, she is mine and mine alone,” Jason said. “Once a girl has been intimate with me, I will never let her go, not even a lover. You might not have the same status as my wife would have, but you, Lotus, Andrea, and Gwendolyn definitely will have the same privileges as my wife.”
“Gwendolyn, my lord?” Lisa asked in confusion. At that moment they arrived at Jason’s suite so he waited until they were more private before responding. After Steve and Elena had inspected the empty suite they left, leaving Sam with Jason and Lisa.
“Ladies Andrea and Gwendolyn conspired together and managed to have Lady Gwendolyn seduce Lord Jason into taking her virginity,” Sam explained.
“So, when are you going to announce her to be your concubine, or is she just going to be your lover, My Lord?” Lisa asked as she unbuttoned Jason’s shirt after Sam removed his jacket. He ended up just standing still as the two females undressed him.
“As soon as I have a suitable public audience,” Jason responded as he unbuttoned Lisa’s uniform blouse.
“That means I’m senior to her,” Lisa said.
“You are the daughter of a viscount; she is only the daughter of a baron,” Jason said.
“She is referring to the internal pecking order of all your concubines,” Sam said with a giggle.
“Andrea is the prime bitch, with Lotus a close second,” Lisa said. “Megan would love to be prime, but you have not touched her yet. Because you formally declared me as your concubine, in front of my parents and the duke, I’m third even if Gwendolyn already got to you.”
Jason showered with the two girls and was not allowed to get overly intimate with either of them as he got his hands slapped away when they wandered. Afterwards both girls joined him in bed. Sam took control of the proceedings by first demonstrating to Lisa how to give oral sex. Then, as Sam sat on Jason’s hips, impaling herself on him, Lisa experienced Jason’s tongue. Once both girls got off that way, Lisa and Sam swapped places, with Sam directing and guiding Jason and Lisa, until Lisa was fully impaled on Jason.
“Don’t come in me, my lord,” Lisa said meekly after she had her second orgasm from riding Jason. “I am not safe and would prefer to stay in the marines as your senior ADC for a while longer.”
“Come in me!” Sam said excitedly as she plopped onto her back next to Jason and with her legs wide open. “She will be too sore for the rest of the night anyway.” When Jason pulled out of Lisa, the faint blood smears indicating her past status was clearly visible.
“What is with you suddenly calling me ‘my lord’ when we are alone?” Jason asked Lisa. Sam giggled at Jason’s question.
“Call it a personal quirk, my lord,” Lisa said softly as she and Sam cuddled up against Jason after they had exhausted themselves. “A dream of mine, to be the possession of a powerful yet gentle male. When I stop calling you that in private, it will be because I am angry at you.”
In the early hours of the morning Jason again took both his bed partners. He forgot and nearly came inside Lisa but then he remembered and used Sam instead. Both girls received a round of oral sex, in lieu of their morning run.
“We need to get back home so we can be close in case the emperor wants to see you, my lord,” Lisa said to Jason as they finished having breakfast with the viscount and viscountess. Lady Celeste was there as well but without her husband.
“Just imagine what could have been if Daddy was not so much in a rush to get me married off,” Celeste said to her mother as she gave Jason a hungry look.
“Lord Jason is here at this table only because I caught him,” Lisa said. “If I didn’t bring him here to introduce him to mom and dad, he would not have come here at all. The first time you would have laid eyes on him would have been at a formal imperial ball.”
Shortly after breakfast Jason was escorted to his shuttle by the viscount and viscountess. This time Lisa was openly hanging onto his arm. Besides his own four marines, six more marines have joined the honor guard outside the hovercraft, thanks to his hosts now being aware of his real status.
Five hours later they were back home.
“Did he do it? Did he make a public announcement?” Andrea asked as soon as she saw Lisa and Jason walking into the entrance hall while holding hands. Lisa just smiled shyly. Instantly Andrea, Gwendolyn, and Gwen Revere swarmed all over Lisa, pulling her away from Jason.
