Chapter 16
Early Monday morning, Tag was in the kitchen drinking the brew and heading to the gym. He did his full workout of Sensi and weight training, dressed in black, and walked to the forest. Tag entered and walked on trees and did flips forward and backward, tuck and roll, and walked up a tree, then leaped to the next like walking sideways, and he finished and walked home feeling fantastic. Tag entered and headed to the shower, and let it relax me. He comes out and sits in the lotus position and center.
Waking up, Tag heads to the kitchen. He eats breakfast and starts calling the utility companies. They will happily take his money in advance, so he requests last year’s bills, and now he has a baseline. Then he calls the accountant and lets her know what is going on. She says it is alright and makes it easier on her. So, he writes checks for all the utilities on the new house and warehouse and adds 25% to be safe.
With that done, Tag drove the F250 down to pick up his low-boy frame and accessories. They looked great in midnight blue, and this ride will really pop out at you when it’s finished. Tag asked if he could get another bike together, if he could do it in a kind of camo type, but not bold, and with the same coat as his truck. He was looking for a blend of looks. He looked at Tag and said to check back in a week, and he’ll have some samples made up. Tag left, picked up the seat, took turns, reversed course, made unexpected stops, went down alleys, and finally reached the new house.
Tag unloaded the parts and locked up and down the tunnel to the house. He called the Harley engine builder, and his engine and transmission were ready. He’d farmed it out because it was too much to do, and they were experts. He ate lunch, deposited his checks in the corporate account, and dropped off and picked up the motor and transmission. Tag was going to the same to the one he dropped off. He pulled in the new house garage, closed it up, and headed up the tunnel to the house.
Tag felt like he was preparing for something to happen, but did not know what. It started bugging him, and he felt the need to center. So, he stripped and thought that when kissing his co-star, it would be nice to have a longer tongue if it didn’t get in the way. My man part is large and hanging long, but not getting hard yet. He wonders if parts of my body are still at my real age while the rest is eight to ten years advanced. He’s now 6’4” and 210 lbs. Not bad, Tag says to himself, and sits nude in the lotus position and center. I awake
2 a.m. Wednesday, Tag was in the kitchen drinking his brew and realized he had lost a day. He heads to the gym for a full workout. Sensi exercises and weight training, and heads down the tunnel to the kill room. Tag enters the dark room, sensing the area, and all hell breaks loose. It’s a whirling mix of kicks, punches, knives flying, flipping, rolling, and wall walking. At the end, he calmly walks to each dummy, removes the knives, exits the room, and walks up the tunnel to the house for a long, hot shower. He sat nude in a lotus position and center.
Waking up, it’s 7 a.m. and he’s starved. Tag eats two breakfasts and gets dressed for the auction. He puts $20k in the backpack and heads to the auction. It’s another industrial auction, and he sees the ringers spread apart. Tag sends them a cramping in the stomach and the urge to find a bathroom fast before the runs hit. They bolted, and he picked up a nice lathe, drill press, and bench grinder. Everyone is happy except the auctioneer. He is pissed and you can see in his face. His boys returned from the restroom, a little white, and slowly exited.
Tag pays $350 for the lot, loads it into his truck, and goes home laughing. He makes as many turns and cutbacks as possible with the load, but finally pulls in the new house, unloads, pulls around the other side, puts the truck to bed, and locks up. He goes up the tunnel home and calls the driving school. They have a weekend course this weekend, so I booked it. It starts on Saturday at 8 a.m., runs through Sunday, and finishes at 2 p.m.
He eats lunch, returns to the new garage, and starts putting the bike back together. The engine and transmission were bolted down. Tag starts on the front end, the forks and wheel are mounted, and does the same to the rear end. Then he runs the wiring harness from the lights, gauges, and key ignition switch, making sure there are no metal edges to wear. Then he wires the engine and rear tail light. With that done, Tag installs the chain and rear fender and hooks up the lights, accessories, and trim.
Tag moves to the front, attaches the front fender, hooks up the gauges and ignition, and finally, the tank hooks all the wires to the engine. He connected new gas and valve hoses, got the torque wrench, and checked every bolt twice. Then Tag installs the battery, double checks the connections, and hooks the leads. He adds 5 gallons of gas, bleeds the line, adds oil, and rolls it outside. Tag starts it up, and it sputters and coughs, then smooths out. He lets it run for 5 minutes, shuts it down, checks the fluid again, rolls back into the garage, shuts everything down, and locks up.
He heads home up the tunnel to the house, cleans up, and eats dinner. After drinking his brew while walking to the gym, Tag does his nightly routine and tries to kill the heavy bag and cool down on the speed bag. He went upstairs, showered, and centered. Then he wakes up
Tag was in the kitchen early Thursday morning, drinking his brew and heading to the gym. He did his off-day workout, headed to the shower, and centered. He awoke and went to the kitchen for breakfast. After breakfast, he headed down the tunnel to the new garage. He rolls out deep blue, locks up, takes it for a test ride, and stops to fuel. Tag picks up a paper, does evasive maneuvers, and finally heads back and parks in the garage.
He checks the fluids, locks up, goes through the tunnel to the house, and goes upstairs. Tag checked his email, and the production company wants us at the premiere in three weeks from this weekend. It’s a black-tie affair, shit. That requires another trip to the tailor. He programmed until noon, ate lunch, drove the Chevy truck to the mall, and visited the tailor. Tag got the expensive tux and two shirts because he thinks his growth has topped out (I hope). He also gets two suits with four shirts and ties to match. His tailor is a happy man. They will be ready early next week.
Then Tag window shops look at nothing except reflections for half an hour before leaving, driving around nowhere, and ending up at home. He headed upstairs, got on the internet, routed through six servers, and visited the dark side. Tag was looking for spy gear and found sunglasses that you can see behind you. It has a small mirror strip on the glasses to see behind you. He orders two with mirrored lenses. Tag keeps looking and sees a scope on a tube that can extend under the door and see in the room, and hooks to a camera to take pictures. He orders that checks out, sends them to a drop house, and logs off.
He is programming for the rest of the day. Tag shut down the computer, thinking Vol. 7, Spain will be ready soon. It’s time to start thinking about a new game. He’d have to think this through, but it sounds great. In “Deception,” the character has to assume the identity of someone renowned (who has reappeared after a long absence) to escape his criminal past. The slightest mistake will bring his pursuers (the mob) to his doorstep. Interludes with the well-to-do come with risk and a toolbox. He needed to vet this after Europe is complete. He headed to the kitchen, ate dinner with his brew, and went to the gym. Tag does his nighttime workout, and beats the living daylights out of the heavy bag or tries. He cools down on the speed bag, showers, and centers. He wakes
2 a.m. Friday, Tag was in the kitchen, drinking his brew, heading to the gym for his full workout, Sensi routine, and weight training. When finished, he showers and centers. Tag wakes and heads downstairs for breakfast. After breakfast, he returns upstairs, packs Western clothes with toys, and finishes Vol. 7, Italy. Troubleshooting will be done next week. He sets the closet bomb and arms the system, takes the bags down the tunnel, and loads them in the F250.
He pulls out of the garage and locks up. Then Tag drove to the Santa Monica airport, pulled the plane out, drove the truck into the hangar, and locked it. He ordered fuel, walked to the private terminal, and filed his flight plan. By the time he gets back, the fuel truck is pulling away. Tag does the pre-flight check, warms up the engines while notifying the tower of his departure, and receives clearance to taxi to runway 4b. He waits 15 minutes before being given clearance.
Tag took off heading southwest at 5,000 ft. and was stuck at that altitude because of traffic. He landed in Phoenix, AZ, and taxied to an open spot. He shut down the plane and performed his post-flight inspection. After covering and tying down the plane, he went to the car rental and got an SUV. Tag picked up a map, drove to the hotel, and checked in. It was the best-rated hotel close to the track and school. He inquired if a casino was nearby, and the clerk said 5 miles west. She said it was the best in the area.
After settling in the mini-suite, he grabbed $10k and drove to the casino. Tag walked in and was greeted, and he asked about poker games and was directed to the area. Tag watched the people and how they played. A supervisor approached him, and he asked if there were higher-stakes games. He directed Tag to a separate room, where he played until 11 p.m. He tipped the dealer, cashed out, went to the cage, and opened an account. Tag deposited $150k and left for the hotel. When he arrived at his room, Tag showered and centered.
Tag woke up at seven on Saturday morning, dressed, ate breakfast, and headed to class. This was what I wanted. They taught you how to avoid or turn the tables on someone trying to run off the road, or how to respond to the bump and shove. Basically, someone comes up behind you faster than you and hits you, trying to cause loss of control. We watched videos, then hit the track, and did the same thing. They taught maneuvers to escape or engage and where to strike.
We ended the day talking about the equipment needed. What’s required and if you can afford it addons. They also gave a list of recommended shops in each person’s area to get the work done. All the shops offered a discount if we showed a course completion card. Tag left with his head spinning about the vehicle, work to be done. He headed back to the hotel, ate dinner, went to his room, showered and centered, and woke up at 9 p.m. Tag dressed, went to the casino’s high rollers room, and left at midnight with $180k. He returned to the hotel and centered.
He awoke at 7 a.m. Sunday, dressed, had breakfast in the lobby, and checked out. Then Tag drove to the school and we spent the day in cars learning controlled spins, drifting, and changing direction at high speed. We were also taught how to turn corners faster and stay in control. They also showed us how to enter a turn and spin the car 180 degrees and point the other way. He had a blast. This was worth the money and could save his life. We ended the training and were given a folder of recommended books to study or purchase.
They have a special training course once a year at a road course in Europe involving high-speed chases that simulate real road experience. It is reserved for professional drivers, but they will fill out the class with qualified students. Tag signed up and hoped he would get in. We thanked the instructors and headed to the airfield. Tag was in the air in less than 45 minutes and arrived in under two hours. Tag put the plane to bed, locked the hangar, and drove home. He ate an early dinner and drank the brew on the way to the gym. Tag did his nightly routine, beat the heavy bag, and cooled down with speed bag. He went upstairs, showered, sat naked in lotus, and centered.
Nothing happened over the next few weeks except getting the trucks, cattle guards, and industrial rear bumpers all in black. The cars had suspension work done and some performance enhancements. He also had solum brakes install on the cars that allows you lock one rear wheel. His tux and suits were finished, and special glasses and spy supplies arrived. He finished troubleshooting Vol. 7, Spain, had the patent attorney file, and his friend provided copies. And of course, the premier is tomorrow. Tag arranged a car to take him to and from the studio. He didn’t want a limo pulling up out front of the house to bring attention to him and the home.
2 a.m. Saturday, Tag was drinking his brew on the way to the gym. He did his off-day routine and headed to the shower. He sat nude in the lotus position and centered. Tag woke at seven, had breakfast, went to the paint shop, and picked up his latest project. He’d have to admit it turned out great. His painter, Todd West, didn’t think it would work, but he, too, was amazed. Tag picked up his seat, done in the same color, and stopped by the motor shop and picked up the motor and transmission.
Tag took the long way home, only stopping for fuel and a paper. He parked in the garage, unloaded everything, and headed down the tunnel to the house. Eating lunch, he read the paper, and our film was getting attention from critics and networks. He had a feeling tonight was going to be a madhouse. After lunch, he showered and centered. Waking at 5 p.m., Tag dressed, set the closet bomb, and armed the house. The car picked him up, and we agreed on a pickup time when he let Tag out at the studio. He got into the limo for the short ride to the premiere.
It was insane, almost like seeing ants attack something sweet. It took 40 minutes to get to the red carpet and let him out. The lights flashing nearly blinded him as he walked straight up the carpet. The director’s assistant hooked his arm and directed him to several interviewers, and he finally got inside. The director Alan Gray introduced him to over 20 people. He would never remember their names, and several celebrities greeted him. Tag stood in the corner, and an older gentleman moved beside him and said It’s a bit overwhelming.
He said we aren’t in Kansas anymore. He introduced himself, and Tag responded, and he asked Richard if he had any advice or could give him some direction in hiring an agent. Richard gives Tag a card and asks him to call him next week. Tag sees his costar, and we give each other air kisses. Walking into the theater, he asks her what she thinks of Richard Lovett and CAA. She said she would give her firstborn if he would represent her. Tag guessed that it was a good recommendation. We sat through the movie, and it was the same madhouse leaving. He didn’t go to the after parties, but there were several. Tag went home, showered, and centered.
