Chapter 18: Exploring the Caves
August 6
The group goes down to the caves. They arrive at a cave with a water pool. In the pool hangs some skeleton that looks like someone attacked his back. At the bottom of the pool, a small chest is visible. Jaysek casts a telekinesis spell on the chest and lifts it up from the bottom. When he gets it to the surface, a small undead kobold jumps out from under the chest. The kobold first attacks Neiia, and after Neiia retreats, Ra moves to the front line. Ra fights with the kobold and hits it quite many times before the kobold tries to heal itself. Jaysek removes half the effect of the healing, but the kobold still heals before their eyes. Ra continues hammering the kobold, and when the kobold is slowed and Ra is accelerated, the speed difference is considerable. The kobold decides to stop magic in the area to even out the situation a bit. Ra hacks the kobold to pieces.
After this, Jaysek starts moving the chest to the tidal pool room, with Kieron following. Neiia and Ra stay to examine the corpses and the bottom of the pool. Neiia freezes the pool before returning to the chest. In the chest is a large pile of copper and some other items.
The group rests for some time and then continues forward. They come to a place where suddenly very loud mosquito buzzing starts to be heard. The mushrooms next to Neiia start making that sound; apparently, it’s some kind of alarm system. Neiia breaks one mushroom, and Jaysek silences the other with his magic.
A moment later, a large swarm of troglodytes comes running to the scene. Neiia retreats while fighting, and after that, they stop at a crossroads where Neiia and Ra are in the front line. Kieron moves to Ra’s side and tries to strike at the troglodytes past him from there, but Ra is too much in the way. Ra dodges the first strike, but the second time he manages to dance so well in front that Kieron’s strike hits Ra, and Ra then runs away so hard that he trips over Jaysek.
Now Kieron and Neiia are in the front line, and when Ra gets up, he moves in front of Jaysek. Ra and Kieron start hammering the one in front of them and manage to drop it. Neiia shoots enemies with ice balls.
