Chapter 3

One of the young warriors takes only three months to be born. For Ma’jeil’s child, it was no different.

While she was with a child, she was cared for at every moment. It was ensured that she was well fed, well rested, and in perfect health while with a child, for that child was special.

The birth was a painless one. Tests showed the little girl was indeed another warrior; the power of the electric was also in her. She was to be known as Ga’Min.

For the first two years, Ma’jeil cared for her while others cared for Ma’jeil. She patiently taught the child the ways of the world while the child learned quickly. Ma’jeil only taught her the basics of the world – the rest would come later from those who could teach of such things.

The girl grew quickly, as big as a girl of 10 at two.

When she was a little bit older than two, it was time. Ma’jeil knew the day was to come. She had prepared Ga’Min for the day.

“You are a very special woman,” Ma’jeil told Ga’Min one day. “You are to protect our people from those who do us harm. Someday, you will be a great warrior.”

“But what if I don’t want to be a warrior, mother?”

Ma’jeil shook her head. “Such things are not to be discussed.”

When the day came, Ga’Min hugged her mother tightly for several minutes. This was unusual, but the Teaching Mothers allowed it. Finally, mother and daughter parted. Ga’Min was to enter her teaching years.
