Chapter 15

I was wearing a black coat and walking on the chilly street. The nearest pharmacy was closed, so I had to use my phone to search for another one a kilometer away.

The street where the pharmacy is located is very busy. Even at 10 o’clock in the evening, all the shops are open and the scene is brightly lit.

I walked into the store, which was spacious and bright, with comfortable air conditioning. There were no other customers, only a clerk sitting behind a nearby counter, playing with his phone. To my surprise, this clerk was someone I knew.

I pulled up the collar of my coat to hide the lower half of my face, put my hands in my pockets, and looked mysterious - although I didn’t know why I did that.

“Ahem, do you have a thermometer?”

“Haha, squad leader, are you cosplaying as a spy? You don’t look like one at all.” Chloe saw through my disguise in an instant, raised her head and looked at me with a playful grin.

“Why are you here?” I asked puzzledly.

“This is my family’s store, is there anything strange about me being here?” Chloe said with a playful expression, “But why would the monitor come to a pharmacy so late at night?”

Now that I think of it, Chloe’s house is pretty close to mine, but I didn’t know that this pharmacy was owned by her family.

“Ahem, I have a cold and feel a little uncomfortable...”

Thinking of the beautiful scene at home just now, I lied subconsciously. Was it because I felt guilty?

“Oh--” Chloe looked as if she understood, and then her eyes lit up “Hehe, you came at the right time, I’m bored alone, come and sit with me” she said and patted the chair next to her.

“ ... I’m here to buy something.”

“Hey, why are you in such a hurry? I’m not not selling it to you.” She stood up, holding the phone in one hand and stretched out the other hand to pull my sleeve. “Besides, isn’t it natural for the class monitor to help his classmates?”

I couldn’t help but complain, this guy kept calling me class monitor, how could there be no respect in school. But then I thought, my mother should be sleeping soundly now, so I was not in a hurry to go back, so I followed her and sat on the chair behind the counter.

Only then did I see Chloe’s whole body clearly. She had a pretty face and neat short hair. Her loose light green shirt was unbuttoned, revealing the white T-shirt underneath. She had loose shorts on her legs, and her fair feet in slippers were dangling back and forth, looking very relaxed.

“Why do you want me to sit here? Aren’t you playing games? I don’t know how to play those.” This is the truth. I spend most of my spare time reading and studying, and rarely come into contact with games and entertainment.

“Hey, I know.” Chloe bent down and took out a pile of books and test papers from her schoolbag under the counter. “Help me do my homework. You must know this.”

“What?”

I immediately slammed the table and said, “Chloe, don’t go too far. You don’t pay attention in class and always delay your homework. I didn’t say anything to you, but you are still asking for more.” I was so angry that I couldn’t even speak. Isn’t this just like shitting on my face?
