Chapter 7
“Are you sure you’re okay with this?” asked Barb.
The thirty-eight-year-old woman sighed.
“If you don’t want to let him--”
“Barb, I know how close you are to Glee, and I also know that he needs to get out of this town, to experience new things. Who else is better equipped to show him the world than you? He loves you, and I know how strongly you feel toward him. He’s grown into a wonderful man. I know this is what’s best for him.”
“Thank you,” and she hugged Glee’s mom, the two women sharing a great love for Glee.
“You know, Barb, he’s going to flip out, in a good way, when you spring this on him tonight.”
“The thing I have always tried to do is surprise people: to present them with something they didn’t expect.” 39
“Sorta’ like how you surprised Glee out behind the shed?” Glee’s mom’s eyes twinkled with muse as she saw the shocked look on Barb’s face.
