Chapter 6

Several miles down the road around the wooded area, Trooper Sheldon was sitting in his patrol car on the side of the road. A call came in from a fellow trooper whose last name was Alexander.

“Sheldon here, what’s up,” Trooper Sheldon said as he picked up his CB microphone.

“I have just found a dead body here,” Trooper Alexander explained.

“Whereabouts?” Trooper Sheldon wondered.

“About five miles from where you’re at now,” Alexander replied.

“I’m on my way,” Sheldon answered as he drove away from the side and headed back up the road.

A few minutes later, Trooper Sheldon was where Trooper Alexander was with the dead body.

“Oh my God!” Trooper Sheldon exclaimed in a surprised way. “This is, or was, Officer Chuck Raymond.”

“I know,” Trooper Alexander said. “Apparently, this crazed loony murdered him and stole his uniform, which means that he is using his old M.O.” ( Modus Operandi)

“That means nobody, and nowhere, is safe until he’s either captured, or preferably, killed,” Trooper Sheldon replied. “Not only that, we have several missing people right now. I am hoping that we can find them alive.”

Five minutes later, back at the house, Terry, Chelsea and their friends were still eagerly, and hoping, for the return of their friends.

“This isn’t like any of them at all,” Chelsea said. “Them leaving and not calling us. This is very strange, and also, suspicious.”

“I know, Chelsea,” Lizzy replied. “It’s also weird. I also agree that it isn’t like any of them to worry us almost to death.”

“I’m getting this really nervous feeling deep within me,” Ricky said nervously. “I’m hoping to God that all of them are okay, but I’m feeling really nervous right now.”

“Why is that, Ricky?” Terry wondered.

“Terry,” Ricky began still nervous. “I know that you don’t want to hear about him, but with that dangerous loony character out there, I’m afraid that...”

“Ricky, get a hold of yourself,” Terry interrupted trying to reassure him. “We need to still hang on to the hope that they are okay and will be back here soon.”

“I hope that you’re right, Terry,” Ricky replied still nervous. “I do hope you’re right.”

“Ricky.” Lizzie began. “Let’s go out to the pool and lounge around it. Maybe the two of us alone there will help you be not so nervous.”

“I hope so,” Ricky answered still nervous, but also, unsure.

“Just don’t wander very far,” Terry said. “Just stay in the pool area and never leave it.

As they laid in lounge seats by the pool, they talked.

“I wonder where everyone is,” Ricky said. “It’s strange that they simply disappeared. It’s also not like them no to call us.”
