Chapter 1: Introduction to the Show

“MOM! The show is almost on! Come on!” the young boy shouted as he ran through the house to the entertainment room. He was just two summers old, not yet mature, but far old enough to make decisions about his favorite things. The youngling pounced into the padded chair as his ears focused forward on his head, his tail twitched excitedly and his posture was one that only an excited young male child could hold for any length of time as the show got ready to start.

The show is called ‘Galactic Animals’, hosted by the much loved and respected galactic biologist Dr. Kaelon Grimling. Dr Grimling had been hosting the show for many years, traveling from system to system cataloging countless animals and plants as he recorded what he found and sent back to his homeworld the most interesting and entertaining animals and plants.

He and his team had arrived at this planet months ago and started recording what they found. They found animals raised for food, for their skins/fur for clothing and animals that just exist to bring people happiness.

It wasn’t until they found bipedal-humanoid people that the show got interesting. Dr Grimling called them Anthroposians, or Homo Gustus. The shows he was sending back were very popular and Dr Grimling’s fame for finding interesting animals for his show kept rising.

“Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen!” Dr Grimling said as the show’s music faded out. “Welcome to the ‘Galactic Animals’. I’m your host, Dr Kaelon Grimling.” the doctor said while standing on a hillside overlooking a fair sized town full of buildings, people and transportation vehicles. “Right now, we are overlooking a small village on the planet that we are calling Gustus. As you can see, the animal we have found is very similar to us in that they are humanoid like us but with several differences. Let me show you.”

The camera view changed and was now focused on a person lying in the sun wearing two strips of cloth over their chest and one small strip of cloth down between their legs. The rest of their body was nude and without clothing. There were many other people just like them also wearing close to nothing while lying in the bright sun.

“This was filmed last year, during the growing and hot season. What you are seeing is a female of the species sunning themselves during the growing season. This person is referred to as a woman, or girl if she is not fully matured yet. The thing she is doing is called tanning, or sunning themselves. When we filmed this, we also noticed that some men were also sunning themselves in the same way but with different body coverings.”

The camera view changed to show men and women all lying in the sun tanning.

“I can tell you that the act of lying in the sun is very nice and feels just right.” Dr Grimling said, as the show changed to show Dr Grimling also lying in the sun with just coverings over his lower part of his body. This chest was bare and exposed to the sun while his tail twitched off to his side.

“Currently, it is birthing season and the whole area is covered in frozen water, which they call snow. We are in our blind capturing this outside footage for you all. However, we have chosen a family unit consisting of a breeding male and female, their offspring all living in the same domicile. The non-breeding parents of both ‘parents,’ live nearby and we have filmed them eating meals, spending time with the family, and interacting with the offspring of the male and female.”

The view changed to show an adult male and female walking in and out of the building while young people are seen nearby coming and going. The older members of their family are also seen leaving a building and walking down the road to another building and entering. Sounds of happiness, the sounds of shouts and squeals of joy, are heard when these older members of the family enter.
