Chapter 4

I pick up Luna this morning for school, she was so happy not to be on the school bus. I parked in the school children’s car park with quite a few students looking at my vehicle. We handed in to admin our parents letter regarding the two of us missing school on Thursday. I registered my vehicle as well. They needed to know who vehicle was who, to stop cars being dump in the car park. We went to form class and I, together with two others were sung the happy birthday song. It’s a class tradition.

We finished school, I turned on my phone and we went to the farm to check for any mail. There was only junk mail. Arriving at my home Luna and I did our homework within an hour. Luna stayed for dinner and I returned her home by 8pm.

This morning I logged onto my bank account to check the balance. It was now up to $7m plus. As yet there was no email from Stuart. I went to school in a daze, thinking about the funds. Everyone noticed I was not myself especially Luna. I dropped Luna at home and went to my home alone. Checking my emails there were still no notes from Stewart. I rang his number and asked him to call me. Then I remembered the telephone number for the lady with the scruffy property. I rang her, she answered and I explained about her meeting my girlfriend in the toilet last Saturday, She remember and asked what the call was about. I explained we are willing to buy her beach property and asked her to advise the purchase price. She did request $1m in her pocket, I had to pay any extra. I agreed and got her email address. Whilst talking on the phone I confirmed the purchase as she requested. She check her emails and did confirm back to me it was correct. I explained I would get my solicitor to arrange payment. It was at that point she explained about a possible problem with getting her ex-husband out of the place. I mentioned, leave that to me. Was there anything she needed from the property, paintings, bookcase items, She advised no, I have taken all of my stuff. I thanked her and hung up. She sent another email asking how soon before we could settle. I advised as soon as possible.

Stuart did ring back after dinner advising he had been in court with a big case and apologised for no contact. I understood then. I explained about the land purchase and the possible problem but I did have a possible solution that I could not explain to him yet. He agreed to ring the lady and settle soonest, he still had funds to transfer to me and would put the land sale under the same company the beach houses were registered. After sending Stuart a copy of the emails I thanked him and asked to settle ASAP. After speaking to Stuart I laid on my bed thinking.
