Chapter 15
Stuart rang at 8.30 the next morning asking us what occurred. We gave him a brief overview.
Merlin wanted to collect some of the hydroponic plants before we turn off the lights and they die. I told him he could have the lot, no cost. He agreed to take them within the next few days. He did mention, we again, found out how he killed so many people. With the containers being opened in a closed room, whoever was in the room would suffocate from lack of oxygen with the strength of the herbs he had the jars over a very short period of time. We had cleared up some of the mystery.
Luna and I stayed at home and had a long soak in the bath then sunbaked naked outside for an hour or so. We both felt refresh after the time out.
Today Stuart finally pick us up in the same limo to continue the inspections. We explained what occurred at the river house. Apparently Superintendent Howard did ring him and gave him an updated him as well. Stuart advised they were very happy with our assistance and getting the fingerprints on the goods. All of them will be charged with importing the drugs due to the volume.
Initially we went back to the local shopping centre with 150 shops and have a look around at the variety of good standard of shops. We were shown around five unit blocks with units ranging from 8 to 20 units, all in the holiday area of town. We could only see from the outside. We did have some additional land but they were yet to be zoned for either residential or industrial. We were dropped back at the farm by 4pm. Man what a busy day, at least we now know what we own. Luna made a light dinner and we slept from 8pm till 7am solid. We needed the time out.
This morning I did study the document folder Stuart gave us concerning our land holding. I could not understand a lot until Luna got out a map of the Gold Coast and mapped out our holdings. We did own a lot. We drove to the mansion and found Merlin and Dave replanting some herbs in pots and taking others in the water setup. I was very happy to see them go. Dave, as an extra, did change the locks on the doors for us and tap code to triple tap.
Luna and I went upstairs and removed all of his clothes into packing boxes, after checking the contents of pockets etc. We did fine three additional USB keys and a heap of money. In another room we found boxes of women’s clothes packed. We checked the contents and again found jewellery and money. I mentioned to Luna to box the jewellery separately and we would take that home. This did take over three hours. Luna did make some sandwiches for the four of us. Merlin and Dave appreciated the thought.
I decided to remove some of the gold bars to our farm. I removed around 50 bars into my car spread out over the boot and back seat. As we drove home I could feel the weight so I took it slower than normal. We unloaded the bars onto a pallet in the shed and covered it with a tarp. The next day I hired a small truck for the wear and tear. It took three trips to remove the remaining 150 gold bars to our farm shed. I decided to leave the 1,000 silver bars at the mansion for the time being. We had 200 bars of gold at an average cost of 800,000 USD, that was a lot of money. We had I feel around $240m in local currency. Wow that I did not expect. That was definitely pushing us into the billionaire club. I decided to check the silver price and found rough value at $30m. I could not believe our luck. The USB keys I gave to Merlin to hand in to the AP on his next visit. We are still deciding what to do about the mansion, we will wait until the trial of Sims.
Merlin and Dave have completed the removal of the herb plants and the many jars of herbs. The extra USB keys did give the AP additional information needed and they finally got to interview Sims. Apparently he was not helpful at all so he was charged with the offences including the drug dealing. The other two were also charged because of their fingerprints. They stated they only help him to stack his drugs. It is a bit hard to believe when you already have a record for trafficking them. Bail was refused for all three with a trial date in three months.
