Chapter 12
I counted the money and it came to $850,000. I banked the money into my account. I spent the rest of the week completing all assignments so I had the school holidays just for study and travel with Stuart. Luna did mention with the extra computers and USB keys, Dad was still helping the police. He was really a nasty piece of scum.
The court rang me asking if I, together with Luna would attend the hearing for Bruce Sims this Friday even though it is only 9 weeks, he apparently has new information. I agreed and mentioned it to Luna and her dad. Not Raven.
On Thursday afternoon Merlin advised he was coming with us as he and the AP have been requested. I drove to the court house and found it very quiet. Stuart advised every four weeks Judges do their reviews and normally only prisoners attend. It’s unusual for others to attend but lets see what is required.
In a different court room, we sat down and waited. Five minutes later Sims was brought into the room again in whites and handcuffed. He could not sit down in his cubicle. The Judge entered and we all stood. We sat down except Sims. He stated “I wish to apologise to you Judge for my remarks, I was having a low blood sugar day.”
The Judge asked “Have you been interviewed by the AP and fully assisted them?”
Sims looked surprised at the Judge “No they have not attended.”
The Judge looked at the superintendent, “Have you requested time to interview the prisoner?”
Superintendent Howard revealed, “We have requested time and sent, as requested, a list of question to be asked. I do have a copy here Your Honour. We were advised the prisoner stated he was too sick to see us.” A court official collected the questions. The Judge read them.
The Judge asked Sims, “Have you seen and read the questions?”
Sims replied, “NO.”
One of the guards said, “Your Honour, he was handed the questions, read a few them, then tore up the papers and flushed them down the loo.”
Sims stated, “They are all lies made up by the fucking police.” The Judge looked at the AP. Superintendent Howard replied, “The questions were from the USB stick found on his person at the time of arrest. I have the people here who have helped to decode them if you wish to ask any questions! We were given the personal computer and other paperwork from his former residence and we are currently decoding them from the Witches language.”
The Judge asked, “Witches Language?”
Dad stood up, “Your Honour, I am Merlin Moon, father to Luna. We, as witches, do have a graphical language to hide the secrets of the coven. It is a slow manual process to decode. I have finished the USB key and now working on the computer supplied by my future son in law, Mr Joe Harris. It was in one of the properties handed over to Joe in your court ruling.”
The Judge smiled, “Thank you Mr Moon and I believe I can say the AP is extremely grateful for your assistance in this case.”
Superintendent Howard stood up quickly and answered, “You bet we are, Your Honour.”
Sims looked at dad and said, “You dog, fucking mangy dog.”
Dad stood and replied, “Your Honour I am very pleased to assist the police in my actions of being a law abiding citizen.”
The Judge smiled and a small laughter occurred through the court. He asked, “Well Mr Sims how do you plead to any of the questions?”
Sims replied, “Piss off muggle?”
The Judge ordered Sims to be removed from the court and sent back to prison. Sims was removed with difficulty. The Judge said, “Mr Lee, Mr and Miss Moon and Mr Harris. I thank you for taking the time to attend today. These questions do appear to be some of the most serious charges I have ever seen in my time as a Judge. Superintendent Howard please include me on your question contact list for this prisoner, if I read this correctly we could have a serial killer on our hands.”
Superintendent Howard replied “That is the way I am reading it as well, Your Honour. I will be asking for a sizeable court payment for the help and future distress this may cause.”
The Judge replied, “I believe it could be approved without question.”
The court official asked to rise and the Judge left the room. We walked outside and went to a cafe for drink and sandwich. Superintendent Howard left, thanking us for our assistance. He did not want to be seen having a meal with us until the court case is finalised. We understood. I took everyone home and dropped Stuart at his office. It was a quiet drive to Merlin home.
Luna and I went to the farm for the weekend. It was nice and peaceful. We did the gardens to fill in our time. We are looking at a few animals to help keep the grass down. Both of us completed the last of our assignments before the school holidays in two weeks. We know during that time we will be busy with Stewart.
