Chapter 25

Amaryllis

I wake up to Rowan entering the room. He has a tray of food with him. It looks mouth watering.

“How was your nap baby?”

“It was good. How was your meeting?

He looked at me with a sign of disappointment.

“Ro, what did you find?”

“I was going to wait to tell you until we knew more.”

“Ro, I am Luna of this pack. You shouldn’t be doing this alone. Your job is to protect, and I am supposed to be beside you to give you strength and support this pack through it all. How do I do my job when I don’t know any details about the threat?” My voice showed a lot of authority, I am pretty sure this is due to the Luna voice I now have. Rowan is smiling ear to ear about it.

“Baby. I can tell you everything we know so far if you want to know. You can even start coming to meetings if you want. We might need your opinion on some things.”

I was not expecting that answer.

“Well ... good. Now tell me what you found so far.”

He sat the tray of food down so I could eat while listening. He brought me a huge plate sized burger, the kind with a good big piece of lettuce. It also had mayo on it. It is the best way to have a burger. Along with the Burger, I had fries with honey mustard to dip, a brownie with cream cheese frosting, salad, and raspberry tea. I remember that I am carrying three pups. Rowan must be giving me so much because of my pregnancy. I am not going to complain, now I have a reason to not hold back to keep a nice figure. These next couple of months are going to be awesome!

I got snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed Ro started to talk.

“So, it turns out it is easier to find a guy when he doesn’t know you are looking for him. Right now we have the upper hand. He doesn’t know we have any information. We can easily act like we know nothing to keep the upper hand. But we can not tell the pack like I originally thought.”

I stare at him confused. Why had he changed his mind? Je looked at me and then answered my question like he could hear my thoughts.

“For now, only Cam, Brian, May, and us should know about your Wolf. If word gets out before we have a good plan in place, this battle could come a lot quicker. We also can’t trust that the pack would stay quiet. Once we have a good battle plan, we will alert our warriors.”

“This sounds like a good plan, but you still haven’t said any information on this guy.”

He rubs the back of his neck, before answering.

“My own family is trying to hurt you. Trying to hurt us.”

My mouth has fallen open. His family?

“My mom has passed away, she was the Alpha of this pack before I took over before my father left us. So far, I don’t think he is involved. I did a lot of research along with Cam and Brian. My father had an older half brother named Franklin. Apparently my Uncle’s mother was half witch.”

“Wait, if it is your Uncle, would you really want to fight him?”

He looked at me like I’m an Idiot.

“If he threatened my family, the mother of my children, my mate, my Luna, I would without question snap his neck.”

It might be the hormones, but that was the cutest sentence I ever heard. He said family! I am definitely blushing. He continues with his informative speech.
