Chapter 21

Amaryllis

I wait in the bedroom for Rowan. I feel overwhelmed. I know I need to talk to him.

I hear the door open and try to calm myself before he enters.

“Hi hun. Did you find a dress for the ceremony?”

“Yes and it is beautiful.”

He smiles at me.

“Anything you wear will be beautiful because you are the one wearing it.”

I smile back at him. I no longer feel overwhelmed.

“Thank you.”

“You needed to talk to me?”

His question quickly makes my expression turn serious.

“It’s about my wolf ... I’m not normal as you know already.”

“Yes, your Wolf is beautiful darling.”

River is practically running in circles after hearing Rowan’s compliment.

“River is also strong. It is hard to explain, but I need you to run with us during the next full moon. It should be in three days.”

I can tell he is confused but he nods in agreement.

“Bruce and I would be honored.”

My heart melts at his response. He truly loves me. Mother Wolf and all.

three hours until the full moon.

“May, did the flowers get ordered?”

“Yes, future Luna, the lily’s are going to look perfect.”

“Thank you. What about the flower for Rowan?”

“As promised, we will have an amaryllis flower given to him for your big romantic gesture.” She winks at me.

Great, everything is ready for tomorrow.

I start to plan more for the ceremony as I feel strong arms grab me from behind. A smell fills the air around me. I know that smell anywhere.

“Hi, my love.”

“Hun, I told you not to overwork yourself. The party is for you, you don’t need to plan everything.”

“I just want everyone to see that I can help out. I am the Luna of this pack after all.”

He smiles warmly as he kisses my neck from behind.

“Come, I need to show you something before we go for our run.”

I follow him the best I can. I am wearing a short but flowy white dress. The straps look like vines and the skirt had a leaf design. My shoes are chunky wicker platforms with a buckle strap.

I try to keep up as he walks but it is hard. He notices me struggling behind him and smiles. He then picks me up bridal style and continues his walk.

“Where are we going?”

“Our first date my queen.”

I giggle as he lets me walk again. We are walking on a path made of flowers and glowing pebbles.

“This is beautiful!”

I see his face light up as he stops walking.

We come to a dead end. I can hear water flowing beyond a huge bush.

He grins and pushes the tall bush aside. I can’t help but squeal as I see what he did for me.

A beautiful waterfall and pond, lined with flowers and trees with rainbow jar lights hanging down from the branches. My heart skips a beat as I take in the fairy tale scene.

“You did all of this for me?”

“You deserve it.”

I let a tear of joy fall as he takes my hand and leads me closer to the pond.

It looks magical. He sets up a picnic near the edge of the pond and we eat dinner while laughing.

Once we finish eating, Rowan takes my hand in his and has me stand. He kneels on one knee and I can’t help but blush.

“Amaryllis, I have loved you since the moment I saw you. You are the light of my life. I promise to love you every day and cherish you for as long as we both live. Will you do me the honor of taking my last name? Will you marry me?”

I shake my head yes as he places the solitaire, three carat, princess cut ring on my finger. Tears of joy are on my cheeks. I jump into his lap and wrap my arms Around his neck. I kiss him so deeply that our hearts beat as one.

He hugs me with his muscled arms and we make love in my new favorite place.

We clean ourselves off in the pond as the moon begins to show higher in the sky.

We stay undressed as we both nod and shift. I feel free as my giant wolf comes out. I see Bruce under us as he looks at River with eyes of wonder and arousal. River starts to walk, she knows exactly what to do.
